Na nedjeljnim izborima za zastupnike donjeg doma parlamenta i za lokalne organe vlasti u bivšoj sovjetskoj republici Uzbekistanu sudjelovanje je iznosilo 87,8 posto, objavilo je središnje izborno povjerenstvo nakon zatvaranja biračkih
ureda u 20 sati po mjesnom vremenu.

Više od 17 milijuna birača bilo je pozvano izabrati 150 zastupnika donjeg doma parlamenta među 506 kandidata četiri stranke: Socijaldemokratske stranke Adolat, Demokratske stranke Mili Tiklaniš, Pokreta poduzetnika i poslovnih ljudi - Liberalnodemokratske stranke i Narodne demokratske stranke.

Prema uzbekistanskom zakonu 15 mjesta je automatski rezervirano za zastupnike Ekološkog pokreta Uzbekistana.

Predsjednik Islam Karimov koji vodi zemlju od 1989. je rekao da izbori pokazuju da se Uzbekistan kreće prema uspostavi demokratskog društva.

Izbore u Uzbekistanu pratilo je više od 270 promatrača iz 36 država. Organizacija za sigurnost i suradnju u Europi (OESS) nije poslala promatračku misiju u punom sastavu jer nijedna od preporuka te organizacije nije prihvaćena, izvijestio je Reuters.

Režim predsjednika Karimova zapadne nevladine organizacije zaštiti ljudskih prava optužuju da sprečava svaku kritiku vlasti, što Uzbekistan opovrgava.

Na nedjeljnim izborima za zastupnike donjeg doma parlamenta i za lokalne organe vlasti u bivšoj sovjetskoj republici Uzbekistanu sudjelovanje je iznosilo 87,8 posto, objavilo je središnje izborno povjerenstvo nakon zatvaranja biračkih
ureda u 20 sati po mjesnom vremenu.

Više od 17 milijuna birača bilo je pozvano izabrati 150 zastupnika donjeg doma parlamenta među 506 kandidata četiri stranke: Socijaldemokratske stranke Adolat, Demokratske stranke Mili Tiklaniš, Pokreta poduzetnika i poslovnih ljudi - Liberalnodemokratske stranke i Narodne demokratske stranke.

Prema uzbekistanskom zakonu 15 mjesta je automatski rezervirano za zastupnike Ekološkog pokreta Uzbekistana.

Predsjednik Islam Karimov koji vodi zemlju od 1989. je rekao da izbori pokazuju da se Uzbekistan kreće prema uspostavi demokratskog društva.

Izbore u Uzbekistanu pratilo je više od 270 promatrača iz 36 država. Organizacija za sigurnost i suradnju u Europi (OESS) nije poslala promatračku misiju u punom sastavu jer nijedna od preporuka te organizacije nije prihvaćena, izvijestio je Reuters.

Režim predsjednika Karimova zapadne nevladine organizacije zaštiti ljudskih prava optužuju da sprečava svaku kritiku vlasti, što Uzbekistan opovrgava.

Na nedjeljnim izborima za zastupnike donjeg doma parlamenta i za lokalne organe vlasti u bivšoj sovjetskoj republici Uzbekistanu sudjelovanje je iznosilo 87,8 posto, objavilo je središnje izborno povjerenstvo nakon zatvaranja biračkih
