Guverner Floride Ron DeSantis uputio se u nedjelju prema ugašenoj tvornici fosfata južno od Tampe gdje curenje zagađene vode iz rezervoara prijeti poplavi tog područja i zagađenjem zaljeva Tampa.

Pogoršanje stanja nakon tjedan dana curenja rezervoara Piney Pointa s 1800 milijuna litara otpadne vode natjeralo je DeSantisa da proglasi izvanredno stanje jer se strahuje od mogućeg kolapsa gomila otpada fosfogipsa, prvenstveno iz proizvodnje gnojiva, u toj tvornici.

"Strukturni kolaps moguć je u bilo kojem trenutku", rekao je Jacob Sauer, rekao je šef Odjela za javnu sigurnost u okrugu Manatee u subotu navečer. 

Naređena je evakuacija stotine domova u okolici.

"ODMAH evakuirajte područje. Kolaps odvoda Piney Pointa može se dogoditi u svakom trenutku!", upozorili su dužnosnici okruga Manatee stanovnike tog područja u subotu navečer. 

Voditelj Agencije za zaštitu okoliša na Floridi, Noah Valenstein, rekao je za Tampa Bay Times da je potencijalna ekološka katastrofa primarna prijetnja zdravlju ljudi. 

"Neposredna prijetnja je javno zdravlje", rekao je Valenstein lokalnim medijima. "Možemo se pobrinuti za nutrijente u okolišu (...) Zaljev je otporan."

Vlasti pokušavaju isušiti svu preostalu zagađenu vodu s imanja u vlasništvu tvrtke HRK Holdings kako bi smanjile pritisak na propusne zidove i spriječile poplave. 

Pomoću dvije cijevi izvlači se 85,000 litara vode u minuti "u odvodni jarak koji ima cijevi ispod dvije željezničke pruge i nakon toga se prazni cijevima do morskog zida", rekao je dužnosnik Scott Hopes.

Dodaje da će tom brzinom biti potrebno 10 do 12 dana da se voda kontrolirano isprazni "tako da materijal ostane samo na tlu Piney Pointa".

Guverner Floride Ron DeSantis uputio se u nedjelju prema ugašenoj tvornici fosfata južno od Tampe gdje curenje zagađene vode iz rezervoara prijeti poplavi tog područja i zagađenjem zaljeva Tampa.

Pogoršanje stanja nakon tjedan dana curenja rezervoara Piney Pointa s 1800 milijuna litara otpadne vode natjeralo je DeSantisa da proglasi izvanredno stanje jer se strahuje od mogućeg kolapsa gomila otpada fosfogipsa, prvenstveno iz proizvodnje gnojiva, u toj tvornici.

"Strukturni kolaps moguć je u bilo kojem trenutku", rekao je Jacob Sauer, rekao je šef Odjela za javnu sigurnost u okrugu Manatee u subotu navečer. 

Naređena je evakuacija stotine domova u okolici.

"ODMAH evakuirajte područje. Kolaps odvoda Piney Pointa može se dogoditi u svakom trenutku!", upozorili su dužnosnici okruga Manatee stanovnike tog područja u subotu navečer. 

Voditelj Agencije za zaštitu okoliša na Floridi, Noah Valenstein, rekao je za Tampa Bay Times da je potencijalna ekološka katastrofa primarna prijetnja zdravlju ljudi. 

"Neposredna prijetnja je javno zdravlje", rekao je Valenstein lokalnim medijima. "Možemo se pobrinuti za nutrijente u okolišu (...) Zaljev je otporan."

Vlasti pokušavaju isušiti svu preostalu zagađenu vodu s imanja u vlasništvu tvrtke HRK Holdings kako bi smanjile pritisak na propusne zidove i spriječile poplave. 

Pomoću dvije cijevi izvlači se 85,000 litara vode u minuti "u odvodni jarak koji ima cijevi ispod dvije željezničke pruge i nakon toga se prazni cijevima do morskog zida", rekao je dužnosnik Scott Hopes.

Dodaje da će tom brzinom biti potrebno 10 do 12 dana da se voda kontrolirano isprazni "tako da materijal ostane samo na tlu Piney Pointa".

‘Odmah evakuirajte područje, kolaps odvoda može se dogoditi u svakom trenutku‘: ekološka katastrofa prijeti zaljevu Tampa na Floridi

Guverner Floride Ron DeSantis uputio se u nedjelju prema ugašenoj tvornici fosfata južno od Tampe gdje curenje zagađene vode iz rezervoara prijeti poplavi tog područja i zagađenjem zaljeva Tampa.

Pogoršanje stanja nakon tjedan dana curenja rezervoara Piney Pointa s 1800 milijuna litara otpadne vode natjeralo je DeSantisa da proglasi izvanredno stanje jer se strahuje od mogućeg kolapsa gomila otpada fosfogipsa, prvenstveno iz proizvodnje gnojiva, u toj tvornici.

"Strukturni kolaps moguć je u bilo kojem trenutku", rekao je Jacob Sauer, rekao je šef Odjela za javnu sigurnost u okrugu Manatee u subotu navečer. 

Naređena je evakuacija stotine domova u okolici.
