Njemačka prigodnim programima obilježava nacionalni „dan sramote“, početak Hitlerove operacije Barbarossa, i komemorira žrtve napada na Sovjetski Savez te nacističkih pogroma koji su potom uslijedili.

Kancelarka Angela Merkel izjavila je u prigodnoj videoporuci kako je 22. lipnja 1941., dan Hitlerove invazije na SSSR, razlog za sramotu svakog Nijemca. Merkel je izrazila zahvalnost narodima bivšeg Sovjetskog Saveza što su pružili ruku pomirenja njenoj zemlji, usprkos milijunima žrtava. Istom izjavom ona je, međutim, oštro osudila i aktualnu represiju nad opozicijom i civilnim društvom u Rusiji i Bjelorusiji.

“Kad se zatvaraju mirni demonstranti i pripadnici opozicije, to je veliko opterećenje za naše odnose”, kazala je Merkel, dodavši da je za Berlin neprihvatljiva situacija nakon ruskog pripajanja Krima i podrške separatistima na istoku Ukrajine.

U obilježavanju godišnjice napada Wehrmachta na Sovjetski Savez stožernu ulogu ima njemački predsjednik Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Podsjetivši kako je taj osvajački pohod u Sovjetskom Savezu ubio 27 milijuna ljudi, uključujući 14 milijuna civila, Steinmeier je poručio kako se nikad ne smije zaboraviti da je Sovjetski Savez pretrpio najviše žrtava u Drugom svjetskom ratu.

Središnja njemačka komemoracija povodom ove obljetnice održana je u Njemačko-ruskom muzeju Berlin-Karlshorst gdje je 8. svibnja 1945. potpisana kapitulacija Wehrmachta. Frank Walter Steinmeier je prvi predsjednik Njemačke u povijesti koji je posjetio to mjesto. Otvorio je i prigodnu izložbu „Dimenzije zločina - Sovjetski ratni zarobljenici u Drugom svjetskom ratu" te tim povodom održao potresan govor:

„ Ono što je započelo 22. lipnja 1941. oslobodilo je golemu mržnju i nasilje, te radikaliziralo rat prema zabludi totalnog uništenja. Od prvog dana njemačku kampanju pokretala je mržnja: antisemitizam i anti-boljševizam, te rasno ludilo protiv slavenskih i azijskih naroda. Oni koji su ovaj rat vodili ubijali su na sve moguće načine, neviđenom brutalnošću i okrutnošću. Pritom su se u svom nacionalističkom ludilu čak pozivali na njemačku kulturu i civilizaciju, Goethea i Schillera, Bacha i Beethovena, a zapravo su skrnavili čitavu civilizaciju, sva načela čovječanstva i zakonitosti.“

„Njemački rat protiv Sovjetskog Saveza bio je ubojito barbarstvo. Nikad više ne smije se pasti u takvo apsolutno neprijateljstvo i dehumanizaciju drugoga i zato sjećanje na taj zločin ostaje trajna obveza za nas Nijemce. Stradanje desetaka milijuna ljudi koje je ubila nacionalsocijalistička Njemačka u našem kolektivnom sjećanju još nije prisutno onoliko koliko to zahtijeva njihova patnja i naša odgovornost“ – kazao je Steinmeier.

Prema navodima muzeja Berlin-Karlshorst, sedam veleposlanika iz država nastalih raspadom SSSR-a odbilo je doći na ovu komemoraciju, uključujući predstavnike Litve, Letonije, Estonije i Ukrajine. Ukrajinski veleposlanik je u prosvjednom pismu napisao kako je komemoracija u Njemačko-ruskom muzeju u Berlinu za Ukrajinu „uvreda", jer se time ignorira neizmjerna ratna patnja drugih nacija, kao što su Ukrajina, Bjelorusija i baltičke države. Kao drugi razlog nedolaska naveo je prisutnost veleposlanika Rusije koja nastavlja vojnu agresiju na Ukrajinu i na Krimu.

Njemačka je odbijanje poziva od strane Ukrajine ocijenila protivnim namjeri predsjednika da izložba ima kohezivni efekt, bez obzira na sve razlike i sukobe. „Ne smijemo instrumentalizirati povijest protiv drugih, naročito protiv susjeda" – poručili su iz Steinmeierova kabineta.

Njemački predsjednik posjetio je tijekom tjedna i bivši logor Sandbostel za zarobljene sovjetske vojnike, gdje je položio vijenac i odao počast stradalim ratnim zarobljenicima.

Od skoro šest milijuna zarobljenih vojnika Crvene armije, više od tri milijuna umrlo ih je u njemačkom zarobljeništvu, čak dvije trećine njih još tijekom 1941. Sovjetskim ratnim zarobljenicima pod Hitlerom su bila uskraćena temeljna prava, a nacisti su imali perfidnu logorsku hijerarhiju: najbolje su tretirani Amerikanci i Britanci, pri dnu su bili Poljaci i Talijani, a na samom dnu Sovjeti. Neki su zarobljenici tako smjeli čak slikati ili svirati jazz, a Crvenoarmejci nisu imali pravo ni na kruh – za njih je pravljen posebni,  od lišća, piljevine i malo brašna.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier je uručio Veliki njemački orden za zasluge bjeloruskoj književnici i Nobelovki Svetlani Aleksijevič, za impresivan opis zvjerstava Drugog svjetskog rata i stradanja bjeloruskih civila u djelima „Rat nema žensko lice" i „Posljednji svjedoci“. Primio je i urednike izdanja „Progon i ubojstvo europskih Židova od strane nacionalsocijalističke Njemačke 1933–1945", djela od čak 16 tomova koje sadrži više od 5.000 dokumenata o Holokaustu, uključujući progon Židova na okupiranim sovjetskim područjima.

U utorak 22.6., na godišnjicu samog napada na SSSR, njemački predsjednik Steinmeier će kod spomen-obilježja „Majka domovina" u Berlinu odati počast poginulim sovjetskim vojnicima i civilnim žrtvama njemačkog napada na Sovjetski Savez. Na toj lokaciji su sahranjeni posmrtni ostaci više od 13.000 časnika i vojnika Crvene armije koji su pali u boju za Berlin 1945.

Njemačka prigodnim programima obilježava nacionalni „dan sramote“, početak Hitlerove operacije Barbarossa, i komemorira žrtve napada na Sovjetski Savez te nacističkih pogroma koji su potom uslijedili.

Kancelarka Angela Merkel izjavila je u prigodnoj videoporuci kako je 22. lipnja 1941., dan Hitlerove invazije na SSSR, razlog za sramotu svakog Nijemca. Merkel je izrazila zahvalnost narodima bivšeg Sovjetskog Saveza što su pružili ruku pomirenja njenoj zemlji, usprkos milijunima žrtava. Istom izjavom ona je, međutim, oštro osudila i aktualnu represiju nad opozicijom i civilnim društvom u Rusiji i Bjelorusiji.

“Kad se zatvaraju mirni demonstranti i pripadnici opozicije, to je veliko opterećenje za naše odnose”, kazala je Merkel, dodavši da je za Berlin neprihvatljiva situacija nakon ruskog pripajanja Krima i podrške separatistima na istoku Ukrajine.

U obilježavanju godišnjice napada Wehrmachta na Sovjetski Savez stožernu ulogu ima njemački predsjednik Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Podsjetivši kako je taj osvajački pohod u Sovjetskom Savezu ubio 27 milijuna ljudi, uključujući 14 milijuna civila, Steinmeier je poručio kako se nikad ne smije zaboraviti da je Sovjetski Savez pretrpio najviše žrtava u Drugom svjetskom ratu.

Središnja njemačka komemoracija povodom ove obljetnice održana je u Njemačko-ruskom muzeju Berlin-Karlshorst gdje je 8. svibnja 1945. potpisana kapitulacija Wehrmachta. Frank Walter Steinmeier je prvi predsjednik Njemačke u povijesti koji je posjetio to mjesto. Otvorio je i prigodnu izložbu „Dimenzije zločina - Sovjetski ratni zarobljenici u Drugom svjetskom ratu" te tim povodom održao potresan govor:

„ Ono što je započelo 22. lipnja 1941. oslobodilo je golemu mržnju i nasilje, te radikaliziralo rat prema zabludi totalnog uništenja. Od prvog dana njemačku kampanju pokretala je mržnja: antisemitizam i anti-boljševizam, te rasno ludilo protiv slavenskih i azijskih naroda. Oni koji su ovaj rat vodili ubijali su na sve moguće načine, neviđenom brutalnošću i okrutnošću. Pritom su se u svom nacionalističkom ludilu čak pozivali na njemačku kulturu i civilizaciju, Goethea i Schillera, Bacha i Beethovena, a zapravo su skrnavili čitavu civilizaciju, sva načela čovječanstva i zakonitosti.“

„Njemački rat protiv Sovjetskog Saveza bio je ubojito barbarstvo. Nikad više ne smije se pasti u takvo apsolutno neprijateljstvo i dehumanizaciju drugoga i zato sjećanje na taj zločin ostaje trajna obveza za nas Nijemce. Stradanje desetaka milijuna ljudi koje je ubila nacionalsocijalistička Njemačka u našem kolektivnom sjećanju još nije prisutno onoliko koliko to zahtijeva njihova patnja i naša odgovornost“ – kazao je Steinmeier.

Prema navodima muzeja Berlin-Karlshorst, sedam veleposlanika iz država nastalih raspadom SSSR-a odbilo je doći na ovu komemoraciju, uključujući predstavnike Litve, Letonije, Estonije i Ukrajine. Ukrajinski veleposlanik je u prosvjednom pismu napisao kako je komemoracija u Njemačko-ruskom muzeju u Berlinu za Ukrajinu „uvreda", jer se time ignorira neizmjerna ratna patnja drugih nacija, kao što su Ukrajina, Bjelorusija i baltičke države. Kao drugi razlog nedolaska naveo je prisutnost veleposlanika Rusije koja nastavlja vojnu agresiju na Ukrajinu i na Krimu.

Njemačka je odbijanje poziva od strane Ukrajine ocijenila protivnim namjeri predsjednika da izložba ima kohezivni efekt, bez obzira na sve razlike i sukobe. „Ne smijemo instrumentalizirati povijest protiv drugih, naročito protiv susjeda" – poručili su iz Steinmeierova kabineta.

Njemački predsjednik posjetio je tijekom tjedna i bivši logor Sandbostel za zarobljene sovjetske vojnike, gdje je položio vijenac i odao počast stradalim ratnim zarobljenicima.

Od skoro šest milijuna zarobljenih vojnika Crvene armije, više od tri milijuna umrlo ih je u njemačkom zarobljeništvu, čak dvije trećine njih još tijekom 1941. Sovjetskim ratnim zarobljenicima pod Hitlerom su bila uskraćena temeljna prava, a nacisti su imali perfidnu logorsku hijerarhiju: najbolje su tretirani Amerikanci i Britanci, pri dnu su bili Poljaci i Talijani, a na samom dnu Sovjeti. Neki su zarobljenici tako smjeli čak slikati ili svirati jazz, a Crvenoarmejci nisu imali pravo ni na kruh – za njih je pravljen posebni,  od lišća, piljevine i malo brašna.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier je uručio Veliki njemački orden za zasluge bjeloruskoj književnici i Nobelovki Svetlani Aleksijevič, za impresivan opis zvjerstava Drugog svjetskog rata i stradanja bjeloruskih civila u djelima „Rat nema žensko lice" i „Posljednji svjedoci“. Primio je i urednike izdanja „Progon i ubojstvo europskih Židova od strane nacionalsocijalističke Njemačke 1933–1945", djela od čak 16 tomova koje sadrži više od 5.000 dokumenata o Holokaustu, uključujući progon Židova na okupiranim sovjetskim područjima.

U utorak 22.6., na godišnjicu samog napada na SSSR, njemački predsjednik Steinmeier će kod spomen-obilježja „Majka domovina" u Berlinu odati počast poginulim sovjetskim vojnicima i civilnim žrtvama njemačkog napada na Sovjetski Savez. Na toj lokaciji su sahranjeni posmrtni ostaci više od 13.000 časnika i vojnika Crvene armije koji su pali u boju za Berlin 1945.
