Ispred nizozemske obale i dalje gori brod Fremantle Highway star samo 10 godina i dugačak 200 metara koji je prevozio 2857 automobila, među kojima je značajni broj vozila proizveden u tvornicama Mercedes-Benz Groupa i BMW AG-a.
Od 23 člana posade nekoliko ih je ozlijeđeno, a jedan mornar je poginuo. Drugi dan nizozemska obalna straža pokušava zaustaviti plamen i spriječiti ekološku katastrofu. Brod je nakon utovara u njemačkoj luci Bremerhaven bio na putu prema egipatskom Port Saidu, pa potom prema Singapuru.
Prema informacijama nizozemske agencije ANP, koja je prenijela riječi člana nizozemske pomorske straže, izgleda da se zapalio jedan od 25 električnih automobila, iako oficijelno uzrok požara još nije potvrđen. S obzirom na to da je prošle godine svijet svjedočio zastrašujućem požaru na brodu Atlantic s 4000 Volkswagena, koji su prevoženi u Sjedinjene Američke Države, otvara se pitanje sigurnosti transporta e-vozila brodskim prijevozom zbog rizika za posadu, velike brodove, okoliš i vrlo visoke komercijalne štete za osiguravatelje prijevoza velikog broja automobila, piše Jutarnji list.

Atlantic je gorio duže od tjedan dana, a teško je procijeniti koliko će dugo gorjeti Fremantle Highway. Osim izgubljenog ljudskog života, najveća potencijalna dugoročna šteta mogla bi se dogoditi u dijelu podmorja pod zaštitom UNESCO-a Wadden Sea, koje je najveći neprekinuti sustav međuplimnih pješčanih i blatnih ravnica na svijetu. Nizozemske vlasti nadaju se kako zbog trenutačnih predviđanja kretanja vjetra, valova i morskih struja potencijalno curenje goriva neće ugroziti Waddenovo otočje, nego bi se trebalo proširiti prema sjeveru.
Mercedes je potvrdio da se na brodu nalazi 300 njihovih vozila te su poručili kako su već pokrenuli detaljnu istragu. Potvrda je stigla i iz BMW-a, ali bez specifikacije broja automobila. Ford, Stellantis, Renault i Nissan negirali su da je brod u plamenu prevozio njihove automobile, a iz Toyote je glasnogovornik poručio kako nije vjerojatno da su njihova vozila na Fremantle Highwayu. Iz Tesle nisu odgovorili na Bloombergov zahtjev za komentar.

Ispred nizozemske obale i dalje gori brod Fremantle Highway star samo 10 godina i dugačak 200 metara koji je prevozio 2857 automobila, među kojima je značajni broj vozila proizveden u tvornicama Mercedes-Benz Groupa i BMW AG-a.
Od 23 člana posade nekoliko ih je ozlijeđeno, a jedan mornar je poginuo. Drugi dan nizozemska obalna straža pokušava zaustaviti plamen i spriječiti ekološku katastrofu. Brod je nakon utovara u njemačkoj luci Bremerhaven bio na putu prema egipatskom Port Saidu, pa potom prema Singapuru.
Prema informacijama nizozemske agencije ANP, koja je prenijela riječi člana nizozemske pomorske straže, izgleda da se zapalio jedan od 25 električnih automobila, iako oficijelno uzrok požara još nije potvrđen. S obzirom na to da je prošle godine svijet svjedočio zastrašujućem požaru na brodu Atlantic s 4000 Volkswagena, koji su prevoženi u Sjedinjene Američke Države, otvara se pitanje sigurnosti transporta e-vozila brodskim prijevozom zbog rizika za posadu, velike brodove, okoliš i vrlo visoke komercijalne štete za osiguravatelje prijevoza velikog broja automobila, piše Jutarnji list.

Atlantic je gorio duže od tjedan dana, a teško je procijeniti koliko će dugo gorjeti Fremantle Highway. Osim izgubljenog ljudskog života, najveća potencijalna dugoročna šteta mogla bi se dogoditi u dijelu podmorja pod zaštitom UNESCO-a Wadden Sea, koje je najveći neprekinuti sustav međuplimnih pješčanih i blatnih ravnica na svijetu. Nizozemske vlasti nadaju se kako zbog trenutačnih predviđanja kretanja vjetra, valova i morskih struja potencijalno curenje goriva neće ugroziti Waddenovo otočje, nego bi se trebalo proširiti prema sjeveru.
Mercedes je potvrdio da se na brodu nalazi 300 njihovih vozila te su poručili kako su već pokrenuli detaljnu istragu. Potvrda je stigla i iz BMW-a, ali bez specifikacije broja automobila. Ford, Stellantis, Renault i Nissan negirali su da je brod u plamenu prevozio njihove automobile, a iz Toyote je glasnogovornik poručio kako nije vjerojatno da su njihova vozila na Fremantle Highwayu. Iz Tesle nisu odgovorili na Bloombergov zahtjev za komentar.
