Više od tjedan dana nakon džihadističkog napada u kojemu su ubijeni desetci ljudi u Palmi, na sjeveroistoku Mozambika, u četvrtak su se nastavile operacije evakuacije tisuća preživjelih.

U luku Pembu, dvjestotinjak kilometara južno, stigao je trajekt s 1200 ljudi u noći sa srijede na četvrtak. Desetci ljudi su zabrinuto promatrali iskrcaj tražeći svoje bližnje, izvijestio je novinar France Pressea.

Dana 24. ožujka naoružane skupine su napale Palmu, ubivši desetke civila, policajaca i vojnika. Odgovornost za napad, pomno planiran, pokrenut tek nekoliko kilometara od velikog plinskog projekta koji vodi francuska kompanija Total, preuzela je skupina Islamska država (IS).

Na ribarskim brodovima i pješice, tisuće preživjelih su pobjegli iz toga grada sa 75.000 stanovnika. UN i nevladine organizacije su prihvatili mnoge od njih koji su bili dehidrirali, bosi i u stanju šoka nakon više dana provedenih u šikari bez vode i hrane.
Drugi su evakuirani humanitarnim letovima, uglavnom žene i djeca, te brodom. No za tisuće se još ne zna.

Unatoč nekolikim operacijama evakuacije, broj ljudi koji su se okupili na poluotoku Afungi, blizu Totalova postrojenja, u četvrtak je porastao. Nakon napada je 6000 do 10.000 ljudi tražilo pomoć na tom gradilištu plinskog postrojenja.

"Trenutačno smo u posebnoj zoni Afungi kojoj teroristi nisu prijetili", rekao je vojni zapovjednik Chongo Vidigal novinarima u Palmi, dodajući da je plinski projekt "siguran". 

Mozambička vojska je u srijedu počela ofenzivu kako bi oslobodila Palmu koju su pobunjenici zauzeli u subotu.

Desetci preživjelih su nastavili pristizati u izbjegličke kampove u susjednim pokrajinama, rekao je za AFP humanitarni radnik. U tjedan dana u okolne okruge stiglo je 8100 ljudi, navodi UN.

Zajednica za razvoj južne Afrike (SADC) žurno se u srijedu sastala u Harareu kako bi razgovarala o nasilju u Mozambiku.

Predsjednik Bocvane Mokgweetski Masisi koji trenutačno predsjeda SADC-om, u četvrtak je u priopćenju izrazio žaljenje zbog "teške humanitarne krize", izrazivši želju da se "počinitelji napada brzo uhite i izvedu pred sud".

Afrička unija (AU), koja je izrazila "veliku zabrinutost" zbog "prijetnje" džihadističkih skupina u južnoj Africi, pozvala je u srijedu na "žurno regionalno i međunarodno djelovanje".

Naoružane skupine poznate lokalno pod nazivom Al Šabab ("mladi", na arapskom), već više od tri godine pustoše tom siromašnom, ali bogatom plinom pokrajinom Cabo Delgado, na granici s Tanzanijom.

Nasilje koje vlada tim područjem nagnalo je više od 670.000 ljudi da napuste svoj dom, navodi UN. Nevladina organizacija Acled prijavila je 2600 mrtvih prije napada na Palmu, među kojima su polovina bili civili.

Više od tjedan dana nakon džihadističkog napada u kojemu su ubijeni desetci ljudi u Palmi, na sjeveroistoku Mozambika, u četvrtak su se nastavile operacije evakuacije tisuća preživjelih.

U luku Pembu, dvjestotinjak kilometara južno, stigao je trajekt s 1200 ljudi u noći sa srijede na četvrtak. Desetci ljudi su zabrinuto promatrali iskrcaj tražeći svoje bližnje, izvijestio je novinar France Pressea.

Dana 24. ožujka naoružane skupine su napale Palmu, ubivši desetke civila, policajaca i vojnika. Odgovornost za napad, pomno planiran, pokrenut tek nekoliko kilometara od velikog plinskog projekta koji vodi francuska kompanija Total, preuzela je skupina Islamska država (IS).

Na ribarskim brodovima i pješice, tisuće preživjelih su pobjegli iz toga grada sa 75.000 stanovnika. UN i nevladine organizacije su prihvatili mnoge od njih koji su bili dehidrirali, bosi i u stanju šoka nakon više dana provedenih u šikari bez vode i hrane.
Drugi su evakuirani humanitarnim letovima, uglavnom žene i djeca, te brodom. No za tisuće se još ne zna.

Unatoč nekolikim operacijama evakuacije, broj ljudi koji su se okupili na poluotoku Afungi, blizu Totalova postrojenja, u četvrtak je porastao. Nakon napada je 6000 do 10.000 ljudi tražilo pomoć na tom gradilištu plinskog postrojenja.

"Trenutačno smo u posebnoj zoni Afungi kojoj teroristi nisu prijetili", rekao je vojni zapovjednik Chongo Vidigal novinarima u Palmi, dodajući da je plinski projekt "siguran". 

Mozambička vojska je u srijedu počela ofenzivu kako bi oslobodila Palmu koju su pobunjenici zauzeli u subotu.

Desetci preživjelih su nastavili pristizati u izbjegličke kampove u susjednim pokrajinama, rekao je za AFP humanitarni radnik. U tjedan dana u okolne okruge stiglo je 8100 ljudi, navodi UN.

Zajednica za razvoj južne Afrike (SADC) žurno se u srijedu sastala u Harareu kako bi razgovarala o nasilju u Mozambiku.

Predsjednik Bocvane Mokgweetski Masisi koji trenutačno predsjeda SADC-om, u četvrtak je u priopćenju izrazio žaljenje zbog "teške humanitarne krize", izrazivši želju da se "počinitelji napada brzo uhite i izvedu pred sud".

Afrička unija (AU), koja je izrazila "veliku zabrinutost" zbog "prijetnje" džihadističkih skupina u južnoj Africi, pozvala je u srijedu na "žurno regionalno i međunarodno djelovanje".

Naoružane skupine poznate lokalno pod nazivom Al Šabab ("mladi", na arapskom), već više od tri godine pustoše tom siromašnom, ali bogatom plinom pokrajinom Cabo Delgado, na granici s Tanzanijom.

Nasilje koje vlada tim područjem nagnalo je više od 670.000 ljudi da napuste svoj dom, navodi UN. Nevladina organizacija Acled prijavila je 2600 mrtvih prije napada na Palmu, među kojima su polovina bili civili.

Više od tjedan dana nakon džihadističkog napada u kojemu su ubijeni desetci ljudi u Palmi, na sjeveroistoku Mozambika, u četvrtak su se nastavile operacije evakuacije tisuća preživjelih.

U luku Pembu, dvjestotinjak kilometara južno, stigao je trajekt s 1200 ljudi u noći sa srijede na četvrtak. Desetci ljudi su zabrinuto promatrali iskrcaj tražeći svoje bližnje, izvijestio je novinar France Pressea.

Dana 24. ožujka naoružane skupine su napale Palmu, ubivši desetke civila, policajaca i vojnika. Odgovornost za napad, pomno planiran, pokrenut tek nekoliko kilometara od velikog plinskog projekta koji vodi francuska kompanija Total, preuzela je skupina Islamska država (IS).

Na ribarskim brodovima i pješice, tisuće preživjelih su pobjegli iz toga grada sa 75.000 stanovnika. UN i ...
