Ove godine od 11 osoba zaraženih krpeljnim meningoencefalitisom u Hrvatskoj, čak osam osoba je s područja Primorsko-goranske županije, a od kojih su dvije osobe umrle od posljedica bolesti. Pročelnica Upravnog odjela Primorsko-goranske županije za zdravstvo Đulija Malatestinić izjavila je kako je Gorski kotar postao žarište širenja te bolesti.

Bolest se širi ubodom krpelja, prenositelja virusa sa zaraženih glodavaca na druge životinje i ljude. Bolest je u početku nespecifična te prema svojim simptomima može imitirati niz drugih bolesti, a među njimu i COVID-19. Upravo iz tog razloga, zaražene osobe simptome često zanemaruju i ako se ne dogodi druga faza bolesti, koja nastupa četiri do šest dana nakon pojave prvih simptoma, ova je bolest blaga i često neprepoznata. Međutim, druga faza bolesti specifično je vezana uz simptome meningitisa i upale samog moždanog tkiva. Karakteriziraju je različiti neurološki ispadi, ali i zaostaci invaliditeta po preboljenju.

Voditelj županijskog Epidemiološkog odjela Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Dobrica Rončević objasnio je kako je u sprečavanju zaraze najvažnija prevencija. Tako se preporučuje odlaziti u šume ili travnata područja s odjećom dugih rukava i dugih nogavica te se zaštititi repelentom, sredstvom koje odvraća kukce.

Inkubacija kod krpljenog meningoencefalitisa može potrajati do dva tjedna, pa se zaražena osoba poneki put ni ne sjeća uboda ili ga nije ni primijetila. Ako se bolest ne liječi može doći do jakih glavobolja i paraliza, uključujući paralizu disanja.

"Krpelju treba i do 24 sata dok pronađe mjesto gdje će ubosti i početi sisati krv, pa ga se može ukloniti tuširanjem i pregledom tijela nakon povratka iz prirode. Na sličan način se može zaraziti i lajmskom boreliozom, potencijalno teškom bolešću, koja se u prvoj fazi može uspješno liječiti antibioticima. Četiri od osam pacijenata zaraženih meningoencefalitisom u Primorsko-goranskoj županiji bili su zaraženi i bakterijom uzročnikom borelioze, kazao je Rončević.

Turistička zajednica Gorskog kotara se zbog pojave meningoencefalitisa konzultirala s epidemiologinjom Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Primorsko-goranske županije Marinkom Kovačević, koja je istaknula da je prevencija protiv ugriza krpelja važna, ali i da ne znači da svaki ugriz krpelja mora biti opasan. 

"Savjetovala bih da prilikom svakog boravka na otvorenom prevenirate potencijalni kontakt s krpeljima tako da odjenete prikladnu odjeću i obuću koja će zaštititi tijelo, da hodate obilježenim stazama te da odjeću ne odlažete na grmlje i travu niti da na istoj ležite. Po povratku iz parka ili šume potrebno je ukloniti odjeću, oprati je te detaljno pregledati tijelo", rekla je Kovačević.

I ona je ponavlja kako je potrebno koristiti repelenate, no i istaknula da ugriz krpelja sam po sebi ne mora biti opasan.

"Opasni su, naime, virusi i bakterije koje prenosi", objasnila je dodavši da se virus ne prenosi momentalno, već je potrebno da krpelj bude pričvršćen minimalno 24 sata kako bi dovoljna količina virusa ušla u organizam.

Svaka zaraza virusom koji uzrokuje meningoencefalitis ne mora rezultirati oboljenjem, što uvelike ovisi i o općem imunološkom stanju organizma. "U slučaju slabije imunološke barijere i ako se tijelo ne uspije izboriti u prvoj fazi s virusom, u drugoj fazi može doći do oboljenja. Velika većina oboljelih prolazi s blažim simptomima, stoga nema prostora za strah i paniku, tvrdi Marinka Kovačević. 

Đulija Malatestinić kazala je da je županija Primorsko-goranska osigurala besplatno cijepljenje za sve koji su zbog posla prinuđeni boraviti na područjima na kojima ima zaraženih krpelja. Riječ je o šumarima, sjekačima, komunalnim redarima, pripadnicima HGSS-a... Upućen je poziv svim gradovima i općinama Gorskog kotara da prijave osobe za cijepljenje.

Ove godine od 11 osoba zaraženih krpeljnim meningoencefalitisom u Hrvatskoj, čak osam osoba je s područja Primorsko-goranske županije, a od kojih su dvije osobe umrle od posljedica bolesti. Pročelnica Upravnog odjela Primorsko-goranske županije za zdravstvo Đulija Malatestinić izjavila je kako je Gorski kotar postao žarište širenja te bolesti.

Bolest se širi ubodom krpelja, prenositelja virusa sa zaraženih glodavaca na druge životinje i ljude. Bolest je u početku nespecifična te prema svojim simptomima može imitirati niz drugih bolesti, a među njimu i COVID-19. Upravo iz tog razloga, zaražene osobe simptome često zanemaruju i ako se ne dogodi druga faza bolesti, koja nastupa četiri do šest dana nakon pojave prvih simptoma, ova je bolest blaga i često neprepoznata. Međutim, druga faza bolesti specifično je vezana uz simptome meningitisa i upale samog moždanog tkiva. Karakteriziraju je različiti neurološki ispadi, ali i zaostaci invaliditeta po preboljenju.

Voditelj županijskog Epidemiološkog odjela Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Dobrica Rončević objasnio je kako je u sprečavanju zaraze najvažnija prevencija. Tako se preporučuje odlaziti u šume ili travnata područja s odjećom dugih rukava i dugih nogavica te se zaštititi repelentom, sredstvom koje odvraća kukce.

Inkubacija kod krpljenog meningoencefalitisa može potrajati do dva tjedna, pa se zaražena osoba poneki put ni ne sjeća uboda ili ga nije ni primijetila. Ako se bolest ne liječi može doći do jakih glavobolja i paraliza, uključujući paralizu disanja.

"Krpelju treba i do 24 sata dok pronađe mjesto gdje će ubosti i početi sisati krv, pa ga se može ukloniti tuširanjem i pregledom tijela nakon povratka iz prirode. Na sličan način se može zaraziti i lajmskom boreliozom, potencijalno teškom bolešću, koja se u prvoj fazi može uspješno liječiti antibioticima. Četiri od osam pacijenata zaraženih meningoencefalitisom u Primorsko-goranskoj županiji bili su zaraženi i bakterijom uzročnikom borelioze, kazao je Rončević.

Turistička zajednica Gorskog kotara se zbog pojave meningoencefalitisa konzultirala s epidemiologinjom Nastavnog zavoda za javno zdravstvo Primorsko-goranske županije Marinkom Kovačević, koja je istaknula da je prevencija protiv ugriza krpelja važna, ali i da ne znači da svaki ugriz krpelja mora biti opasan. 

"Savjetovala bih da prilikom svakog boravka na otvorenom prevenirate potencijalni kontakt s krpeljima tako da odjenete prikladnu odjeću i obuću koja će zaštititi tijelo, da hodate obilježenim stazama te da odjeću ne odlažete na grmlje i travu niti da na istoj ležite. Po povratku iz parka ili šume potrebno je ukloniti odjeću, oprati je te detaljno pregledati tijelo", rekla je Kovačević.

I ona je ponavlja kako je potrebno koristiti repelenate, no i istaknula da ugriz krpelja sam po sebi ne mora biti opasan.

"Opasni su, naime, virusi i bakterije koje prenosi", objasnila je dodavši da se virus ne prenosi momentalno, već je potrebno da krpelj bude pričvršćen minimalno 24 sata kako bi dovoljna količina virusa ušla u organizam.

Svaka zaraza virusom koji uzrokuje meningoencefalitis ne mora rezultirati oboljenjem, što uvelike ovisi i o općem imunološkom stanju organizma. "U slučaju slabije imunološke barijere i ako se tijelo ne uspije izboriti u prvoj fazi s virusom, u drugoj fazi može doći do oboljenja. Velika većina oboljelih prolazi s blažim simptomima, stoga nema prostora za strah i paniku, tvrdi Marinka Kovačević. 

Đulija Malatestinić kazala je da je županija Primorsko-goranska osigurala besplatno cijepljenje za sve koji su zbog posla prinuđeni boraviti na područjima na kojima ima zaraženih krpelja. Riječ je o šumarima, sjekačima, komunalnim redarima, pripadnicima HGSS-a... Upućen je poziv svim gradovima i općinama Gorskog kotara da prijave osobe za cijepljenje.
