U finalu je Federer pobijedio pobjednika ovog turnira iz 2008. godine, Francuza Jo-Wilfrieda Tsongu 6-1, 7-6(3). Nakon poraza od Novaka Đokovića u polufinalu US Opena, Federer je upisao 12 uzastopnih pobjeda. Dvije u Davis Cupu, nakon čega nije igrao šest tjedana, a onda je u dva tjedna osvojio dva turnira, prvo u svom rodnom gradu Baselu, i to po peti puta, a onda i prvi puta u karijeri Pariz. U Baselu je izgubio samo jedan set, a Parizu niti jedan.
- Oduševljen sam koliko sam dobro odigrao. U Bercyju sam bio stvarno dobar od prve lopte prvog meča pa sve do samog kraja. Puno sam puta ovdje pokušavao osvojiti turnir, ali mi iz nekog razloga to nije pošlo za rukom, sve do ove godine. Zbog toga je ovo posebna pobjeda – rekao je ushićeni Federer.

Vlasnik rekordnih 16 Grand Slam naslova, objasnio je i koliko mu je bilo važno uzeti tako dugački predah od šest tjedana, prije nastupa u Baselu.
- Dobra je to bila odluka. Uvijek dugoročno planiram svoje nastupe. Kao sportaš trebate imati kratkoročne i dugoročne ciljeve. Ja ih imam. Sportaši moraju osigurati da neko vrijeme provedu bez akcije. I meni treba to vrijeme izvan tenisa. Ovo je ispalo perfektno i sada idem u London pun samopouzdanja.

Sljedeće nedjelje u Londonu počinje ATP finale, odnosno završni turnir osmorice najboljih tenisača svijeta kojeg je Federer prošle godine osvojio po peti puta. U kakvoj je formi, lako bi mogao i obraniti naslov.
- Bit će tijesno i gusto s obzirom da je konkurencija izjednačenija nego prošlih godina. Bit će vrlo zanimljivo i neizvjesno već i u natjecanju po skupinama – najavio je ''čarobnjak iz Basela''.

U finalu je Federer pobijedio pobjednika ovog turnira iz 2008. godine, Francuza Jo-Wilfrieda Tsongu 6-1, 7-6(3). Nakon poraza od Novaka Đokovića u polufinalu US Opena, Federer je upisao 12 uzastopnih pobjeda. Dvije u Davis Cupu, nakon čega nije igrao šest tjedana, a onda je u dva tjedna osvojio dva turnira, prvo u svom rodnom gradu Baselu, i to po peti puta, a onda i prvi puta u karijeri Pariz. U Baselu je izgubio samo jedan set, a Parizu niti jedan.
- Oduševljen sam koliko sam dobro odigrao. U Bercyju sam bio stvarno dobar od prve lopte prvog meča pa sve do samog kraja. Puno sam puta ovdje pokušavao osvojiti turnir, ali mi iz nekog razloga to nije pošlo za rukom, sve do ove godine. Zbog toga je ovo posebna pobjeda – rekao je ushićeni Federer.

Vlasnik rekordnih 16 Grand Slam naslova, objasnio je i koliko mu je bilo važno uzeti tako dugački predah od šest tjedana, prije nastupa u Baselu.
- Dobra je to bila odluka. Uvijek dugoročno planiram svoje nastupe. Kao sportaš trebate imati kratkoročne i dugoročne ciljeve. Ja ih imam. Sportaši moraju osigurati da neko vrijeme provedu bez akcije. I meni treba to vrijeme izvan tenisa. Ovo je ispalo perfektno i sada idem u London pun samopouzdanja.

Sljedeće nedjelje u Londonu počinje ATP finale, odnosno završni turnir osmorice najboljih tenisača svijeta kojeg je Federer prošle godine osvojio po peti puta. U kakvoj je formi, lako bi mogao i obraniti naslov.
- Bit će tijesno i gusto s obzirom da je konkurencija izjednačenija nego prošlih godina. Bit će vrlo zanimljivo i neizvjesno već i u natjecanju po skupinama – najavio je ''čarobnjak iz Basela''.
