Željko Pavličević vodio je u sezoni 1990/91 tadašnji Pop 84 do treće uzastopne titule prvaka Europe, trostruke krune, a na parketu tu je momčad vodio u četvrtak preminuli bivši razigravač „žutih” Zoran Sretenović. Vijest o njegovom odlasku i doslovno je brzinom munje obišla cijeli svijet.

- Kada sam čuo, ostao sam šokiran. Bio je mlad čovjek. Žao mi je, njegove obitelji. Ne znam što se košarkaški Split zamjerio da u tako kratkom vremenu ostane bez četiri čovjeka koji su bili stvaratelji tog velikog kluba, prvo je otišao Sobin, potom Capo, Pere pa sad i Sreto – priča nam Pavličević (71) iz Honga Konga, trener tamošnjeg kluba pod nazivom Eastern Long Lions. U tek nešto više od četiri mjeseca otišli su Goran Sobin, Vinko Capo Bajrović, Petar Skansi, Sretenović... Na spomen Sretenovića je naglasio.

- Obično se kaže kako se o pokojnicima priča sve najbolje, ali i bez toga se o njemu može govoriti samo na takav način. Bio je krasan čovjek, vrlo pouzdan igrač za svakog trenera. Došao je u tadašnju Jugoplastiku pod prethodnim trenerom Božom Maljkovićem, ali to se kod njega nije vidjelo. Bio je igračka veličina, njegova situacijska inteligencija bila je fascinantna, rješavanje situacija na terenu nevjerojatno. S njim nikada nisam imao ni najmanji problem, a da ni ne govorim kakav je bio s ljudske strane. Na njega si se mogao osloniti, a što je najvažnije bio je autoritet u toj momčadi, čak i za najvećeg igrača Kukoča – emotivno nam je o Sretenoviću pričao Pavličević, čovjek koji se na krov Europe popeo i kao trener Cibone 1986. godine.

- Za njega me vežu najljepše uspomene. Osvojili smo te sezone zadnju titulu prvaka Jugoslavije, kup, Kup prvaka. S njim je otišao dio klupske povijesti. Deset dana ranije pisalo se o godišnjici te treće titule prvaka Europe, a onda je kao sudbina došla vijest da ga više nema s nama.

Pogreb će se održati u Beogradu u utorak 3. svibnja u 14 sati. Košarkaški savez Srbije izišao je i s podatkom kako je u tom finalu Kupa prvaka protiv Barcelone u Parizu (70:65) Sretenović odigrao svih 40 minuta i tako postao jedini Europljanin ikada koji je odigrao svaku sekundu tog susreta za šampionsku titulu.

- Znam da je odigrao cijeli susret, ali nisam znao za taj podatak. Igrao je dobro, bio je čovjek od povjerenja. Kada smo poveli nismo ispuštali vodstvo. Nemam papir na kojem unaprijed pišem što ću napraviti, utakmice vodim po osjećaju. Ako netko igra dobro, ako se dobro osjeća, zašto bih ga vadio – objasnio je Pavličević taj Sretenovićev statistički kuriozitet.

Potom se prisjetio i jedne anegdote prije tog finala.

- Par dana prije odredio sam početnu petorku i u nju sam iznenađujuće uvrstio Amerikanca Lestera. Došli su tada Sreto i Kuki kod mene i onako me pristojno pitali jesam li siguran hoće li Lester biti u stanju odgovoriti na pravi način u toj najvažnijoj utakmici. Lester je tad zaista odigrao i iznad svojih mogućnosti, svoju dionicu je odradio briljantno, ali ne pričam o tome. Pričam o tome koliko su se Sreto i Kuki brinuli, koliko su njih dvojica razmišljali o svemu. Takav je Sreto bio igrač i čovjek – naglasio je Pavličević.

Taj je trijumf Sretenovića, Kukoča i ostatka momčadi ostvaren protiv Barcelone koju je tada vodio Maljković, baš trener koji je Zorana doveo iz Crvene zvezde u Split pet godina ranije. Ljeto prije tog finala otišli su s Gripa pored Maljkovića i Dino Rađa, Duško Ivanović i Goran Sobin pa se takav rasplet sezone na njenom početku nije očekivao.

- Mi smo imali svoju igru i toga smo se držali, Kuki je zabio par svojih koševa. Imali smo problema s osobnim pogreškama Perasa, Kukija, Lestera..., ali smo bili spremni za sve. Imao sam osjećaj da bismo vodili i da se trebalo odigrati još pola utakmice. Kad sam tek dolazio uoči sezone znalo se da odlaze Rađa i Ivanović, za Sobina još ne. Tada je rečeno da je domaće prvenstvo prioritet, a bonus u Europi je bio u slučaju da uđemo među 16, cilj je bio da se europski prvak ne osramoti. Ali kad smo se „zalaufali” igrali smo lijepu košarku. Sjećam se zadnje utakmice zadnjeg prvenstva u Beogradu. Poveli smo velikom razlikom protiv jakog Partizana, bila je to rapsodija. Namjerno sam izvadio Kukija van da dobije aplauz koji je zaslužio.

Željko Pavličević vodio je u sezoni 1990/91 tadašnji Pop 84 do treće uzastopne titule prvaka Europe, trostruke krune, a na parketu tu je momčad vodio u četvrtak preminuli bivši razigravač „žutih” Zoran Sretenović. Vijest o njegovom odlasku i doslovno je brzinom munje obišla cijeli svijet.

- Kada sam čuo, ostao sam šokiran. Bio je mlad čovjek. Žao mi je, njegove obitelji. Ne znam što se košarkaški Split zamjerio da u tako kratkom vremenu ostane bez četiri čovjeka koji su bili stvaratelji tog velikog kluba, prvo je otišao Sobin, potom Capo, Pere pa sad i Sreto – priča nam Pavličević (71) iz Honga Konga, trener tamošnjeg kluba pod nazivom Eastern Long Lions. U tek nešto više od četiri mjeseca otišli su Goran Sobin, Vinko Capo Bajrović, Petar Skansi, Sretenović... Na spomen Sretenovića je naglasio.

- Obično se kaže kako se o pokojnicima priča sve najbolje, ali i bez toga se o njemu može govoriti samo na takav način. Bio je krasan čovjek, vrlo pouzdan igrač za svakog trenera. Došao je u tadašnju Jugoplastiku pod prethodnim trenerom Božom Maljkovićem, ali to se kod njega nije vidjelo. Bio je igračka veličina, njegova situacijska inteligencija bila je fascinantna, rješavanje situacija na terenu nevjerojatno. S njim nikada nisam imao ni najmanji problem, a da ni ne govorim kakav je bio s ljudske strane. Na njega si se mogao osloniti, a što je najvažnije bio je autoritet u toj momčadi, čak i za najvećeg igrača Kukoča – emotivno nam je o Sretenoviću pričao Pavličević, čovjek koji se na krov Europe popeo i kao trener Cibone 1986. godine.

- Za njega me vežu najljepše uspomene. Osvojili smo te sezone zadnju titulu prvaka Jugoslavije, kup, Kup prvaka. S njim je otišao dio klupske povijesti. Deset dana ranije pisalo se o godišnjici te treće titule prvaka Europe, a onda je kao sudbina došla vijest da ga više nema s nama.

Pogreb će se održati u Beogradu u utorak 3. svibnja u 14 sati. Košarkaški savez Srbije izišao je i s podatkom kako je u tom finalu Kupa prvaka protiv Barcelone u Parizu (70:65) Sretenović odigrao svih 40 minuta i tako postao jedini Europljanin ikada koji je odigrao svaku sekundu tog susreta za šampionsku titulu.

- Znam da je odigrao cijeli susret, ali nisam znao za taj podatak. Igrao je dobro, bio je čovjek od povjerenja. Kada smo poveli nismo ispuštali vodstvo. Nemam papir na kojem unaprijed pišem što ću napraviti, utakmice vodim po osjećaju. Ako netko igra dobro, ako se dobro osjeća, zašto bih ga vadio – objasnio je Pavličević taj Sretenovićev statistički kuriozitet.

Potom se prisjetio i jedne anegdote prije tog finala.

- Par dana prije odredio sam početnu petorku i u nju sam iznenađujuće uvrstio Amerikanca Lestera. Došli su tada Sreto i Kuki kod mene i onako me pristojno pitali jesam li siguran hoće li Lester biti u stanju odgovoriti na pravi način u toj najvažnijoj utakmici. Lester je tad zaista odigrao i iznad svojih mogućnosti, svoju dionicu je odradio briljantno, ali ne pričam o tome. Pričam o tome koliko su se Sreto i Kuki brinuli, koliko su njih dvojica razmišljali o svemu. Takav je Sreto bio igrač i čovjek – naglasio je Pavličević.

Taj je trijumf Sretenovića, Kukoča i ostatka momčadi ostvaren protiv Barcelone koju je tada vodio Maljković, baš trener koji je Zorana doveo iz Crvene zvezde u Split pet godina ranije. Ljeto prije tog finala otišli su s Gripa pored Maljkovića i Dino Rađa, Duško Ivanović i Goran Sobin pa se takav rasplet sezone na njenom početku nije očekivao.

- Mi smo imali svoju igru i toga smo se držali, Kuki je zabio par svojih koševa. Imali smo problema s osobnim pogreškama Perasa, Kukija, Lestera..., ali smo bili spremni za sve. Imao sam osjećaj da bismo vodili i da se trebalo odigrati još pola utakmice. Kad sam tek dolazio uoči sezone znalo se da odlaze Rađa i Ivanović, za Sobina još ne. Tada je rečeno da je domaće prvenstvo prioritet, a bonus u Europi je bio u slučaju da uđemo među 16, cilj je bio da se europski prvak ne osramoti. Ali kad smo se „zalaufali” igrali smo lijepu košarku. Sjećam se zadnje utakmice zadnjeg prvenstva u Beogradu. Poveli smo velikom razlikom protiv jakog Partizana, bila je to rapsodija. Namjerno sam izvadio Kukija van da dobije aplauz koji je zaslužio.

Željko Pavličević vodio je u sezoni 1990/91 tadašnji Pop 84 do treće uzastopne titule prvaka Europe, trostruke krune, a na parketu tu je momčad vodio u četvrtak preminuli bivši razigravač „žutih” Zoran Sretenović. Vijest o njegovom odlasku i doslovno je brzinom munje obišla cijeli svijet.

- Kada sam čuo, ostao sam šokiran. Bio je mlad čovjek. Žao mi je, njegove obitelji. Ne znam što se košarkaški Split zamjerio da u tako kratkom vremenu ostane bez četiri čovjeka koji su bili stvaratelji tog velikog kluba, prvo je otišao Sobin, potom Capo, Pere pa sad i Sreto – priča nam Pavličević (71) iz Honga Konga, trener tamošnjeg kluba pod nazivom Eastern Long Lions. U tek nešto više od četiri mjeseca otišli su Goran Sobin, Vinko Capo Bajrović, Petar Skansi, Sretenović... Na spomen S...
