Obitelj Arethe Franklin osudila je novu dramatizaciju života slavne pjevačice, točnije biografsku seriju od osam epizoda koja je upravo počela s prikazivanjem na američkom kanalu National Geographic, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Riječ je o serijalu nazvanom "Genius" koji se bavi životima slavnih genijalaca, pa je tako National Geographic u prvoj sezoni tematizirao Alberta Einsteina, u drugoj Pabla Picassa i sad je u trećoj stigao red na kraljicu soula koja je preminula 2018. godine. No obitelj Arethe Franklin zbog ovog projekta izuzetno je ljuta, pozivaju čak i na bojkot serije, obrazlažući to tvrdnjama da nisu konzultirani i zato neće dati svoju podršku.

Pjevačicu inače u ovom biopicu glumi poznata britanska glumica, nominirana i za Oscara, Cynthia Erivo, serija ima izuzetnu produkciju, a o odličnoj reputaciji National Geographica ne treba ni govoriti. Iako sve to govori koliko su producenti respektirali lik i djelo legendarne američke soul pjevačice, obitelj tvrdi da je respekt izostao prema njima, navodi BBC.

"Ovdje se radi o uobičajenom, pristojnom poštovanju naše obitelji", naveli su potomci. Unuka Arethe Franklin, Grace objavila je prošli tjedan na TikToku video na kojem prosvjeduje protiv serije zajedno sa svojim roditeljima, rođacima i prijateljima.

"Ta serija mora se maknuti. Kao najuža obitelj smatramo da moramo biti involvirani u bilo koji biografski projekt koji se bavi životom moje bake. Teško možete imati točan uvid u bilo čiji život ako niste razgovarali s ljudima koji su toj osobi bili najbliži. Tijekom procesa produkcije serije, pisanja, režiranja i snimanja projekta u nekoliko navrata pokušali smo kontaktirati ekipu 'Geniusa', no naišli smo na nepoštovanje i rečeno nam je da neće surađivati s nama. Zato ne možemo podržati ovu seriju, osjećamo se izuzetno povrijeđeni ovim nepoštovanjem i mislimo da će ovaj projekt biti pun netočnosti o životu moje bake", ljutito je istaknula Grace.

Za razliku od National Geographica koji nije htio imati posla s obitelji (barem tako oni tvrde), nasljednici jedne od najvećih zvijezda popa, soula, gospela i R&B-ja svih vremena, imali su doticaja s produkcijom drugog biografskog filma o Arethi Franklin nazvan "Respect". Tamo glazbenu divu igra Jennifer Hudson, a u kina bi trebao stići ovog ljeta.

National Geographic seriju je najavio 2019., a sin Arethe Franklin, Kecalf u magazinu Rolling Stone ocijenio je njihovo ponašanje neprofesionalnim. Zbog svega nisu pogledali prve dvije epizode emitirane preksinoć, niti ih zanima serija koju je najvećim dijelom napisala Pulitzerom ovjenčana scenaristica Suzan-Lori Parks.

U National Geographicu ostali su smireni i na kritike obitelji odgovorili kako je serija rađena s velikim poštovanjem prema preminuloj divi te da su imali dozvolu da snime seriju koju im je dala Zaklade Franklin, koja je trenutno odvojena od obitelji jer se vodi parnica zbog oporuke i nasljedstva koje je ostavila pjevačica. Ipak, ta dozvola ne uključuje pravo na izvođenje najvećih Arethinih hitova kao što su "Respect" i "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman".

Obitelj Arethe Franklin osudila je novu dramatizaciju života slavne pjevačice, točnije biografsku seriju od osam epizoda koja je upravo počela s prikazivanjem na američkom kanalu National Geographic, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Riječ je o serijalu nazvanom "Genius" koji se bavi životima slavnih genijalaca, pa je tako National Geographic u prvoj sezoni tematizirao Alberta Einsteina, u drugoj Pabla Picassa i sad je u trećoj stigao red na kraljicu soula koja je preminula 2018. godine. No obitelj Arethe Franklin zbog ovog projekta izuzetno je ljuta, pozivaju čak i na bojkot serije, obrazlažući to tvrdnjama da nisu konzultirani i zato neće dati svoju podršku.

Pjevačicu inače u ovom biopicu glumi poznata britanska glumica, nominirana i za Oscara, Cynthia Erivo, serija ima izuzetnu produkciju, a o odličnoj reputaciji National Geographica ne treba ni govoriti. Iako sve to govori koliko su producenti respektirali lik i djelo legendarne američke soul pjevačice, obitelj tvrdi da je respekt izostao prema njima, navodi BBC.

"Ovdje se radi o uobičajenom, pristojnom poštovanju naše obitelji", naveli su potomci. Unuka Arethe Franklin, Grace objavila je prošli tjedan na TikToku video na kojem prosvjeduje protiv serije zajedno sa svojim roditeljima, rođacima i prijateljima.

"Ta serija mora se maknuti. Kao najuža obitelj smatramo da moramo biti involvirani u bilo koji biografski projekt koji se bavi životom moje bake. Teško možete imati točan uvid u bilo čiji život ako niste razgovarali s ljudima koji su toj osobi bili najbliži. Tijekom procesa produkcije serije, pisanja, režiranja i snimanja projekta u nekoliko navrata pokušali smo kontaktirati ekipu 'Geniusa', no naišli smo na nepoštovanje i rečeno nam je da neće surađivati s nama. Zato ne možemo podržati ovu seriju, osjećamo se izuzetno povrijeđeni ovim nepoštovanjem i mislimo da će ovaj projekt biti pun netočnosti o životu moje bake", ljutito je istaknula Grace.

Za razliku od National Geographica koji nije htio imati posla s obitelji (barem tako oni tvrde), nasljednici jedne od najvećih zvijezda popa, soula, gospela i R&B-ja svih vremena, imali su doticaja s produkcijom drugog biografskog filma o Arethi Franklin nazvan "Respect". Tamo glazbenu divu igra Jennifer Hudson, a u kina bi trebao stići ovog ljeta.

National Geographic seriju je najavio 2019., a sin Arethe Franklin, Kecalf u magazinu Rolling Stone ocijenio je njihovo ponašanje neprofesionalnim. Zbog svega nisu pogledali prve dvije epizode emitirane preksinoć, niti ih zanima serija koju je najvećim dijelom napisala Pulitzerom ovjenčana scenaristica Suzan-Lori Parks.

U National Geographicu ostali su smireni i na kritike obitelji odgovorili kako je serija rađena s velikim poštovanjem prema preminuloj divi te da su imali dozvolu da snime seriju koju im je dala Zaklade Franklin, koja je trenutno odvojena od obitelji jer se vodi parnica zbog oporuke i nasljedstva koje je ostavila pjevačica. Ipak, ta dozvola ne uključuje pravo na izvođenje najvećih Arethinih hitova kao što su "Respect" i "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman".

Nasljednici Arethe Franklin bojkotiraju novu biografsku seriju o njenom životu: kažu da producenti nisu pokazali poštovanje

Obitelj Arethe Franklin osudila je novu dramatizaciju života slavne pjevačice, točnije biografsku seriju od osam epizoda koja je upravo počela s prikazivanjem na američkom kanalu National Geographic, piše Jutarnji.hr.

Riječ je o serijalu nazvanom "Genius" koji se bavi životima slavnih genijalaca, pa je tako National Geographic u prvoj sezoni tematizirao Alberta Einsteina, u drugoj Pabla Picassa i sad je u trećoj stigao red na kraljicu soula koja je preminula 2018. godine. No obitelj Arethe Franklin zbog ovog projekta izuzetno je ljuta, pozivaju čak i na bojkot serije, obrazlažući to tvrdnjama da nisu konzultirani i zato neće dati svoju podršku.
