Zahvaljujući naprednoj modernoj tehnologiji, na temelju čovjekovog zadaha moguće je dijagnosticirati 17 različitih bolesti. Naime, znanstvenici su uz pomoću uređaja koji uzima uzorke daha uspjeli identificirati specifičan otisak koji ljudski dah ostavlja za svaku od ovih bolesti, piše časopis ACS Nano.

Čovjekov dah sadrži dušik, ugljični dioksid te kisik, no u njemu se nalaze i male količine više od stotinu drugih vrlo nestabilnih kemijskih komponenata. Količina tih supstanci ovisi o trenutnom stanju zdravlja organizma.

Iako je u novije vrijeme više znanstvenih timova razvilo uređaje za analizu daha, oni uglavnom mogu otkriti tek jedan tip bolesti. Hossam Haick i njegov znanstveni tim iz 14 kliničkih odjela ciljaju na 'dahomjer' koji će moći razaznati između 17 različitih tipova bolesti, uključujući rak bubrega ili Parkinsonovu bolest.

Rezultate uzete ovim dahomjerom analizira se tehnikom umjetne inteligencije te se nakon toga postavlja dijagnoza budući da svaka bolest proizvodi jedinstven i vrlo nestabilan kemijski otisak daha, koji se bazira na različitim udjelima 13 supstanci.

Riječ je o uređaju koji je prijenosan, jeftin i možda ono najvažnije - neinvazivan za pacijenta.

Zahvaljujući naprednoj modernoj tehnologiji, na temelju čovjekovog zadaha moguće je dijagnosticirati 17 različitih bolesti. Naime, znanstvenici su uz pomoću uređaja koji uzima uzorke daha uspjeli identificirati specifičan otisak koji ljudski dah ostavlja za svaku od ovih bolesti, piše časopis ACS Nano.

Čovjekov dah sadrži dušik, ugljični dioksid te kisik, no u njemu se nalaze i male količine više od stotinu drugih vrlo nestabilnih kemijskih komponenata. Količina tih supstanci ovisi o trenutnom stanju zdravlja organizma.

Iako je u novije vrijeme više znanstvenih timova razvilo uređaje za analizu daha, oni uglavnom mogu otkriti tek jedan tip bolesti. Hossam Haick i njegov znanstveni tim iz 14 kliničkih odjela ciljaju na 'dahomjer' koji će moći razaznati između 17 različitih tipova bolesti, uključujući rak bubrega ili Parkinsonovu bolest.

Rezultate uzete ovim dahomjerom analizira se tehnikom umjetne inteligencije te se nakon toga postavlja dijagnoza budući da svaka bolest proizvodi jedinstven i vrlo nestabilan kemijski otisak daha, koji se bazira na različitim udjelima 13 supstanci.

Riječ je o uređaju koji je prijenosan, jeftin i možda ono najvažnije - neinvazivan za pacijenta.
