Mazda je možda trenutačno fokusirana na proširenje svog SUV asortimana, ali japanski proizvođač nije zaboravio ikonu MX-5.

Popularni roadster ima zajamčeno mjesto u budućoj Mazdinoj gami, a peta generacija, koja je već u procesu razvoja, zadržat će vrline svojih prethodnika. Joachim Kunz, šef razvoja proizvoda i inženjeringa u Mazda Europe, govorio je za Autocar o budućnosti MX-5 i istaknuo kako je to ikona brenda koju se tretira vrlo posebno.

– U ovom trenutku, izgleda da ćemo ovaj automobil imati zauvijek, s postojećim konceptom i motorom s unutrašnjim sagorijevanjem. Naravno, jednog dana ćemo ga morati elektrificirati, ali za sada želimo zadržati dosadašnju, čistu koncepciju – istaknuo je Kunz.

Usput je dodao da je Mazda MX-5 “beba” japanske centrale kompanije, priznajući da europska divizija nije bila toliko uključena u razvoj toga automobila kao što je to slučaj s drugim mainstream modelima brenda. Komentari šefa inženjeringa nagovještavaju da Mazda ima namjeru ostati vjerna karakteru roadstera koji je fokusiran na vozača. Japanski proizvođač će najvjerojatnije zadržati karakteristične elemente MX-5, uključujući njegovu kompaktnost, malu masu, pogon na stražnje kotače i motor s unutrašnjim sagorijevanjem.

Mazda trenutačno ima mehaničku platformu s pogonom na prednje kotače, rezerviranu za manje automobilske segmente i buduće EV, plus platformu s pogonom na stražnje kotače za veće i premium elektrificirane modele kao što je novi SUV CX-60. MX-5 bi mogao koristiti neke komponente upravo ove druge mehaničke osnove, a imao bi i koristi od najnovije tehnologije motora.

Kao što se nagovještavalo u prethodnim izvješćima, Skyactiv-X benzinski motor u kombinaciji s “lakim” hibridnim sustavom bio bi pun pogodak za novi MX-5. Elektrifikacija bi mogla poboljšati performanse, ali i ekološke atribute roadstera, dok bi mala baterija u sustavu “lakog” hibrida omogućila da masa vozila ostane na sadašnjoj razini. Iako motor na benzin zvuči prihvatljivo za još jednu generaciju, sljedeći korak nakon toga bi vjerojatno uključivao potpuno električni pogon, osim ako Mazda ne pronađe način da koristi sintetička goriva u svojim produkcijskim vozilima. S obzirom da se trenutačni MX-5 četvrte generacije pojavio 2014. godine, najavljeni životni ciklus od jednog desetljeća nagovještava da će lansiranje pete generacije biti 2024.

Mazda je možda trenutačno fokusirana na proširenje svog SUV asortimana, ali japanski proizvođač nije zaboravio ikonu MX-5.

Popularni roadster ima zajamčeno mjesto u budućoj Mazdinoj gami, a peta generacija, koja je već u procesu razvoja, zadržat će vrline svojih prethodnika. Joachim Kunz, šef razvoja proizvoda i inženjeringa u Mazda Europe, govorio je za Autocar o budućnosti MX-5 i istaknuo kako je to ikona brenda koju se tretira vrlo posebno.

– U ovom trenutku, izgleda da ćemo ovaj automobil imati zauvijek, s postojećim konceptom i motorom s unutrašnjim sagorijevanjem. Naravno, jednog dana ćemo ga morati elektrificirati, ali za sada želimo zadržati dosadašnju, čistu koncepciju – istaknuo je Kunz.

Usput je dodao da je Mazda MX-5 “beba” japanske centrale kompanije, priznajući da europska divizija nije bila toliko uključena u razvoj toga automobila kao što je to slučaj s drugim mainstream modelima brenda. Komentari šefa inženjeringa nagovještavaju da Mazda ima namjeru ostati vjerna karakteru roadstera koji je fokusiran na vozača. Japanski proizvođač će najvjerojatnije zadržati karakteristične elemente MX-5, uključujući njegovu kompaktnost, malu masu, pogon na stražnje kotače i motor s unutrašnjim sagorijevanjem.

Mazda trenutačno ima mehaničku platformu s pogonom na prednje kotače, rezerviranu za manje automobilske segmente i buduće EV, plus platformu s pogonom na stražnje kotače za veće i premium elektrificirane modele kao što je novi SUV CX-60. MX-5 bi mogao koristiti neke komponente upravo ove druge mehaničke osnove, a imao bi i koristi od najnovije tehnologije motora.

Kao što se nagovještavalo u prethodnim izvješćima, Skyactiv-X benzinski motor u kombinaciji s “lakim” hibridnim sustavom bio bi pun pogodak za novi MX-5. Elektrifikacija bi mogla poboljšati performanse, ali i ekološke atribute roadstera, dok bi mala baterija u sustavu “lakog” hibrida omogućila da masa vozila ostane na sadašnjoj razini. Iako motor na benzin zvuči prihvatljivo za još jednu generaciju, sljedeći korak nakon toga bi vjerojatno uključivao potpuno električni pogon, osim ako Mazda ne pronađe način da koristi sintetička goriva u svojim produkcijskim vozilima. S obzirom da se trenutačni MX-5 četvrte generacije pojavio 2014. godine, najavljeni životni ciklus od jednog desetljeća nagovještava da će lansiranje pete generacije biti 2024.

Nisu zaboravili na svoju ikonu: Mazda MX-5 i u petoj generaciji sa SUS motorom

Mazda je možda trenutačno fokusirana na proširenje svog SUV asortimana, ali japanski proizvođač nije zaboravio ikonu MX-5.

Popularni roadster ima zajamčeno mjesto u budućoj Mazdinoj gami, a peta generacija, koja je već u procesu razvoja, zadržat će vrline svojih prethodnika. Joachim Kunz, šef razvoja proizvoda i inženjeringa u Mazda Europe, govorio je za Autocar o budućnosti MX-5 i istaknuo kako je to ikona brenda koju se tretira vrlo posebno.

– U ovom trenutku, izgleda da ćemo ovaj automobil imati zauvijek, s postojećim konceptom i motorom s unutrašnjim sagorijevanjem. Naravno, jednog dana ćemo ga morati elektrificirati, ali za sada želimo zadržati dosadašnju, čistu koncepciju – istaknuo je Kunz.

Usput je dodao da je Mazda MX-5 “beba” japanske centrale kompan...
