Najnovije satelitske snimke otkrivaju da je zračni prostor Velike Britanije bio zatvoren pod lažnim izgovorom, odnosno da nije bilo oblaka vulkanske prašine koji bi uzrokovali „sudnji dan“, piše Daily Mail, a prenosi Jutarnji.
Šest dana nebo na Europom bilo je mirno, a avioprijevoznici izgubili su stotine milijuna eura zbog zastoja u zračnom prometu.
Nove snimke otkrivaju da je nebo bilo uglavnom vedro te da su oblaci vulkanske prašine, tamo gdje su bili prisutni, uglavnom bili vrlo rijetki te nisu predstavljali rizik za zrakoplove.
Jim McKenna, voditelj u Upravi za civilno zrakoplovstvo, priznao je:
- Sada je očito da na početku krize nismo imali dovoljno informacija – rekao je McKenna.
- Također je istina da je povremeno bilo gotovo nemoguće detektirati oblake pepela na snimkama – dodao je.
Aviokompanije pokušat će od vlasti uz pomoć satelitskih snimki izvući odštetu u vrijednosti desetaka milijuna eura za gubitke koje su pretrpjeli tijekom zastoja zračnog prometa.
Odluka Centra za kontrolu zračnog prometa da zatvori zračni promet nad Velikom Britanijom temeljila se na digitalnim snimkama Meteorološkog zavoda Velike Britanije koje su upućivale na veliki oblak prašine koji se širio jugoistočno od glečera Eyjafjallajokull.
Kompjuterske snimke trebao je testirati njihov zrakoplov BAE 146, no nije mogao poletjeti jer je bio u hangaru gdje se ga trebali prebojati i tek je prošloga utorka, zadnjega dana suspenzije, mogao poletjeti.
Maksimalna gustoća prašine iznosila je tek dvadeseti dio granice što su ga odredili znanstvenici, britanska Vlada i proizvođači zrakoplova.
Šef British Airwaysa Willie Walsh od početka je smatrao da je opća obustava zračnog prometa bila pretjerana .
- Prema mom osobnom uvjerenju, zrakoplovi su mogli letjeti bez problema, rekao je.

Najnovije satelitske snimke otkrivaju da je zračni prostor Velike Britanije bio zatvoren pod lažnim izgovorom, odnosno da nije bilo oblaka vulkanske prašine koji bi uzrokovali „sudnji dan“, piše Daily Mail, a prenosi Jutarnji.
Šest dana nebo na Europom bilo je mirno, a avioprijevoznici izgubili su stotine milijuna eura zbog zastoja u zračnom prometu.
Nove snimke otkrivaju da je nebo bilo uglavnom vedro te da su oblaci vulkanske prašine, tamo gdje su bili prisutni, uglavnom bili vrlo rijetki te nisu predstavljali rizik za zrakoplove.
Jim McKenna, voditelj u Upravi za civilno zrakoplovstvo, priznao je:
- Sada je očito da na početku krize nismo imali dovoljno informacija – rekao je McKenna.
- Također je istina da je povremeno bilo gotovo nemoguće detektirati oblake pepela na snimkama – dodao je.
Aviokompanije pokušat će od vlasti uz pomoć satelitskih snimki izvući odštetu u vrijednosti desetaka milijuna eura za gubitke koje su pretrpjeli tijekom zastoja zračnog prometa.
Odluka Centra za kontrolu zračnog prometa da zatvori zračni promet nad Velikom Britanijom temeljila se na digitalnim snimkama Meteorološkog zavoda Velike Britanije koje su upućivale na veliki oblak prašine koji se širio jugoistočno od glečera Eyjafjallajokull.
Kompjuterske snimke trebao je testirati njihov zrakoplov BAE 146, no nije mogao poletjeti jer je bio u hangaru gdje se ga trebali prebojati i tek je prošloga utorka, zadnjega dana suspenzije, mogao poletjeti.
Maksimalna gustoća prašine iznosila je tek dvadeseti dio granice što su ga odredili znanstvenici, britanska Vlada i proizvođači zrakoplova.
Šef British Airwaysa Willie Walsh od početka je smatrao da je opća obustava zračnog prometa bila pretjerana .
- Prema mom osobnom uvjerenju, zrakoplovi su mogli letjeti bez problema, rekao je.
