Broj poginulih muslimanskih hodočasnika koji je u srijedu iznosio najmanje 2097 gotovo se utrostručio u odnosu na službene podatke koje su objavile saudijske vlasti nakon katastrofe. Nove brojke odražavaju izvješća vlada, nacionalnih povjerenstava za hodočašća i putničkih agencija.

Saudijci više nisu iznosili nove brojke nakon bilance od 769 mrtvih, utvrđene dva dana nakon katastrofe.

Još ima hodočasnika koje se smatra nestalima nakon stampeda do kojeg je došlo prilikom simboličnog rituala kamenovanja Sotone u Mini, blizu Meke, na zapadu Saudijske Arabije.

Prethodna najteža katastrofa do koje je došlo tijekom velikog muslimanskog hodočašća dogodila se 2. srpnja 1990. kad je u stampedu u tunelu u Mini poginulo 1426 hodočasnika, većinom Azijaca.

U tragediji 24. rujna poginulo je najviše Iranaca (464), Nigerijaca (199), Malijaca (198), Egipćana (182), Bangladešana (137), Indonežana (129), Indijaca (116) i Pakistanaca (89).

Broj poginulih muslimanskih hodočasnika koji je u srijedu iznosio najmanje 2097 gotovo se utrostručio u odnosu na službene podatke koje su objavile saudijske vlasti nakon katastrofe. Nove brojke odražavaju izvješća vlada, nacionalnih povjerenstava za hodočašća i putničkih agencija.

Saudijci više nisu iznosili nove brojke nakon bilance od 769 mrtvih, utvrđene dva dana nakon katastrofe.

Još ima hodočasnika koje se smatra nestalima nakon stampeda do kojeg je došlo prilikom simboličnog rituala kamenovanja Sotone u Mini, blizu Meke, na zapadu Saudijske Arabije.

Prethodna najteža katastrofa do koje je došlo tijekom velikog muslimanskog hodočašća dogodila se 2. srpnja 1990. kad je u stampedu u tunelu u Mini poginulo 1426 hodočasnika, većinom Azijaca.

U tragediji 24. rujna poginulo je najviše Iranaca (464), Nigerijaca (199), Malijaca (198), Egipćana (182), Bangladešana (137), Indonežana (129), Indijaca (116) i Pakistanaca (89).

Više od 2000 osoba izgubilo je život u stampedu na hodočašću u Meki 24. rujna što je najteža katastrofa u modernoj povijesti hadža, prema službenim podacima koje su do srijede objavile 34 zemlje.
