Narod Čimu jedan je od najstarijih naroda Južne Amerike, koji je u prošlosti bio nastanjen u pustinji između Tihog oceana i Andi. Ovaj je narod već u prvoj polovici 14. stoljeća razvio naprednu civilizaciju sastavljenu od velikih gradova sa vlastitim sustavima za navodnjavanje. Osim poljoprivredom, ovaj se narod intenzivno i uspješno bavio tekstilima i lončarstvom.

Unatoč uređenosti i naprednosti ovog ratarskog društva, poznato je da su se u njemu redovito vršili brutalni rituali često povezani sa Mjesecom. Jedan od češćih oblika rituala bilo je žrtvovanje djece.

Područje Huančako u Peruu poznat  je po svojim masovnim grobnicama djece iz Čimu naroda, a najveća od njih otkrivena je 2018. godine. U njoj je pronađeno čak 140 ostataka dječaka i i djevojčica u dobi od 5 do 14 godina. Daljnje analize utvrdile su da su ova djeca bila ubijena u masovnom pokolju kojim su narodne starješine ‘častile‘ bogove, a mnoga su djeca bila žrtve nastranog rituala vađenja srca.

Slični pronalasci otkriveni su i na arheološkom području Pampa La Kruz u Peruu, gdje je iskopano 76 dječjih kostura. Ostatci ove djece bili su položeni nogama prema istoku, a glavama prema zapadu, što je klasični primjer običaja sahrane žrtvi rituala u Peruu. U jednoj od spomenutih grobnica pronađeno je čak pet dječjih kostura položenih u krug u sjedećem položaju. Sva navedena otkrića locirala su čak 302 žrtve ove okrutne prakse izvođene u razdoblju između 1050. i 1500. godine. 

John Verano, profesor antropologije na sveučilištu Tulane objasnio je da ova otkrića otvaraju novo poglavlje kada je riječ o saznanjima vezanih za rituale žrtvovanja djece drevnih naroda.

-  Ovo arheološko otkriće bilo je iznenađenje za sve nas. Do sada nismo vidjeli ništa slično, a ni iz povijesnih izvora ili povijesnih izvještaja nije bilo naznaka o žrtvovanju djece na ovaj način i u tolikom broju kao kod sjevernog Perua, rekao je za National Geographic.

Naknadni DNK i antroploški rezultati objavljeni su u časopisu PLOS One. Prenijeli su da su na novootkrivenim skeletonima otkriveni tragovi posjekotina u područjima prsnog koša, što potvrđuje da su se tijekom određenih rituala ‘parale‘ grudi i vadila srca žrtvi. Vršenje ovakvih rituala bilo je uobičajeno sve do 1470. godine, kada je vladar Inki Tupar Japanki pokorio narod Čima. Spomenuto područje kasnije su osvojili Španjolci, nakon čega je zaostavljeno prakticiranje žrtvovanja ljudi u religijske svrhe.

Narod Čimu jedan je od najstarijih naroda Južne Amerike, koji je u prošlosti bio nastanjen u pustinji između Tihog oceana i Andi. Ovaj je narod već u prvoj polovici 14. stoljeća razvio naprednu civilizaciju sastavljenu od velikih gradova sa vlastitim sustavima za navodnjavanje. Osim poljoprivredom, ovaj se narod intenzivno i uspješno bavio tekstilima i lončarstvom.

Unatoč uređenosti i naprednosti ovog ratarskog društva, poznato je da su se u njemu redovito vršili brutalni rituali često povezani sa Mjesecom. Jedan od češćih oblika rituala bilo je žrtvovanje djece.

Područje Huančako u Peruu poznat  je po svojim masovnim grobnicama djece iz Čimu naroda, a najveća od njih otkrivena je 2018. godine. U njoj je pronađeno čak 140 ostataka dječaka i i djevojčica u dobi od 5 do 14 godina. Daljnje analize utvrdile su da su ova djeca bila ubijena u masovnom pokolju kojim su narodne starješine ‘častile‘ bogove, a mnoga su djeca bila žrtve nastranog rituala vađenja srca.

Slični pronalasci otkriveni su i na arheološkom području Pampa La Kruz u Peruu, gdje je iskopano 76 dječjih kostura. Ostatci ove djece bili su položeni nogama prema istoku, a glavama prema zapadu, što je klasični primjer običaja sahrane žrtvi rituala u Peruu. U jednoj od spomenutih grobnica pronađeno je čak pet dječjih kostura položenih u krug u sjedećem položaju. Sva navedena otkrića locirala su čak 302 žrtve ove okrutne prakse izvođene u razdoblju između 1050. i 1500. godine. 

John Verano, profesor antropologije na sveučilištu Tulane objasnio je da ova otkrića otvaraju novo poglavlje kada je riječ o saznanjima vezanih za rituale žrtvovanja djece drevnih naroda.

-  Ovo arheološko otkriće bilo je iznenađenje za sve nas. Do sada nismo vidjeli ništa slično, a ni iz povijesnih izvora ili povijesnih izvještaja nije bilo naznaka o žrtvovanju djece na ovaj način i u tolikom broju kao kod sjevernog Perua, rekao je za National Geographic.

Naknadni DNK i antroploški rezultati objavljeni su u časopisu PLOS One. Prenijeli su da su na novootkrivenim skeletonima otkriveni tragovi posjekotina u područjima prsnog koša, što potvrđuje da su se tijekom određenih rituala ‘parale‘ grudi i vadila srca žrtvi. Vršenje ovakvih rituala bilo je uobičajeno sve do 1470. godine, kada je vladar Inki Tupar Japanki pokorio narod Čima. Spomenuto područje kasnije su osvojili Španjolci, nakon čega je zaostavljeno prakticiranje žrtvovanja ljudi u religijske svrhe.

Narod Čimu jedan je od najstarijih naroda Južne Amerike, koji je u prošlosti bio nastanjen u pustinji između Tihog oceana i Andi. Ovaj je narod već u prvoj polovici 14. stoljeća razvio naprednu civilizaciju sastavljenu od velikih gradova sa vlastitim sustavima za navodnjavanje. Osim poljoprivredom, ovaj se narod intenzivno i uspješno bavio tekstilima i lončarstvom.

Unatoč uređenosti i naprednosti ovog ratarskog društva, poznato je da su se u njemu redovito vršili brutalni rituali često povezani sa Mjesecom. Jedan od češćih oblika rituala bilo je žrtvovanje djece.
