Najpoznatiji slučaj raspeća na svijetu, prema Novom zavjetu, zbio se kada su Rimljani Isusa Krista osudili na taj vid smrtne kazne. Međutim, daleko od toga da je to jedini poznati slučaj raspeća u povijesti.

U antičko doba na tisuće ljudi bilo je osuđeno na sramotnu i tešku smrt raspećem. Čitav proces raspeća u Rimu je trajao dugo, podrazumijevao je bičevanje i mučenje prije nego što bi osobu prikovali za križ da na njemu u bolovima dočeka smrt.

Smatra se da su Asirci i Babilonci započeli kažnjavanje vezivanjem za drvo ili stup. Praksu raspeća su preuzeli i Perzijanci u 6. stoljeću p.n.e., prema istraživanjima koje je objavio South Africa Media Journal 2003. godine.

Smrt raspećem na križ počeli su upotrebljavati Rimljani koji su tu praksu uveli u sistem kažnjavanja za vrijeme rata protiv Kartagine tijekom Punskih ratova u 3. stoljeću p.n.e, piše National Geographic.

Aleksandar Veliki je osvajanjem Perzije, nakon izgradnje svoga imperija, uveo praksu raspeća u zemljama istočnog Mediterana, u 4. stoljeću p.n.e.

U idućih 500 godina Rimljani su "usavršili" raspeće, sve dok ga Konstantin I nije ukinuo u 4. stoljeću nove ere, navode u svom izveštaju profesori na Odsjeku za engleski jezik i klasičnu kulturu na Sveučilištu Slobodne države u Južnoj Africi, Francois Retief i Louis Silirs.

Ponižavanje, ismijavanje, mučenje

Kako se raspeće smatralo izuzetno sramotnim načinom umiranja, Rimljani nisu ubijali svoje građane na taj način, već samo strance, robove, protjerane vojnike, kršćane i ponekad političare.

Kada su Rimljani okupirali Svetu Zemlju u 4. stoljeću p.n.e., rimski general Varus osudio je na smrt raspećem 2000 židova, a masovno raspeće dogodilo se i u prvom stoljeću nove ere tijekom rimsko-židovskih ratova. I Krist je osuđen na raspeće pod optužbom da je potaknuo pobunu protiv Rima.

U Rimu su ljudi osuđeni na smrt raspećem prethodno bičevani. Od bičevanja su izuzimane žene, rimski senatori i vojnici (osim ako nisu napustili službu). Osuđenika bi bičevali po golim leđima, nogama i stražnjici. To bi uzrokovalo teške rane, bolove i krvarenje. Često se događalo da se osuđenik, iscrpljen od mučenja, onesvijesti ili umre i prije samog čina raspeća.

Ako preživi bičevanje, osuđenik bi bio ponižavan i ismijavan, a svoj križ, na koji će biti razapet - nosio bi na leđima kroz ulice.

Okrutnost je ponekad išla i dalje - događalo se da vojnici osuđenicima odsijeku neki dio tijela, poput jezika; nije bila rijetkost ni da osuđenike oslijepe.

Pojedini izvori navode još jedan zastrašujući čin, koji je uveo grčki kralj Antikus IV. Taj čin je podrazumijevao da osuđenom zadave dijete i okače mu ga oko vrata prilikom raspeća. U Jeruzalemu, na primjer, žrtve su dobivale opijat - vino i tamjan, kako bi im se ublažila bol.

Njemački eksperiment

Smrt bi kod razapete osobe nastupala sporo. Osuđenici su umirali između tri sata i četiri dana. Nekada bi proces umiranja ubrzavali vojnici, tako što bi dodatno fizički zlostavljali žrtvu.

Članovi obitelji osuđenog su nakon raspeća, uz dozvolu rimskog suca, beživotno tijelo mogli skinuti s križa kako bi ga sahranili. U suprotnom leš bi bio ostavljen na milost i nemilost pticama grabljivicama.

Njemački istraživači su tijekom šezdesetih godina dvadesetog stoljeća probali napraviti eksperiment, kako bi proučili kakve efekte na organizam ima sam postupak raspeća.

Oni su dobrovoljcima privezali zglobove za križ i potom pratili aktivnosti respiratornog i kardiovaskularnog sistema. Nakon samo šest minuta volonteri su imali problema s disanjem, puls im se udvostručio, a krvni tlak pao. Eksperiment je obustavljen nakon 30 minuta zbog bolova u zglobovima. Rezultati istraživanja objavljeni su u časopisu Berlin Medicine 1963. godine.

Ovim istraživanjem pokazano je da su uzroci smrti usljed raspeća mogli biti različiti - višestruko otkazivanje organa, respiratorna insuficijencija i slično, piše National Geographic.

Najpoznatiji slučaj raspeća na svijetu, prema Novom zavjetu, zbio se kada su Rimljani Isusa Krista osudili na taj vid smrtne kazne. Međutim, daleko od toga da je to jedini poznati slučaj raspeća u povijesti.

U antičko doba na tisuće ljudi bilo je osuđeno na sramotnu i tešku smrt raspećem. Čitav proces raspeća u Rimu je trajao dugo, podrazumijevao je bičevanje i mučenje prije nego što bi osobu prikovali za križ da na njemu u bolovima dočeka smrt.

Smatra se da su Asirci i Babilonci započeli kažnjavanje vezivanjem za drvo ili stup. Praksu raspeća su preuzeli i Perzijanci u 6. stoljeću p.n.e., prema istraživanjima koje je objavio South Africa Media Journal 2003. godine.

Smrt raspećem na križ počeli su upotrebljavati Rimljani koji su tu praksu uveli u sistem kažnjavanja za vrijeme rata protiv Kartagine tijekom Punskih ratova u 3. stoljeću p.n.e, piše National Geographic.

Aleksandar Veliki je osvajanjem Perzije, nakon izgradnje svoga imperija, uveo praksu raspeća u zemljama istočnog Mediterana, u 4. stoljeću p.n.e.

U idućih 500 godina Rimljani su "usavršili" raspeće, sve dok ga Konstantin I nije ukinuo u 4. stoljeću nove ere, navode u svom izveštaju profesori na Odsjeku za engleski jezik i klasičnu kulturu na Sveučilištu Slobodne države u Južnoj Africi, Francois Retief i Louis Silirs.

Ponižavanje, ismijavanje, mučenje

Kako se raspeće smatralo izuzetno sramotnim načinom umiranja, Rimljani nisu ubijali svoje građane na taj način, već samo strance, robove, protjerane vojnike, kršćane i ponekad političare.

Kada su Rimljani okupirali Svetu Zemlju u 4. stoljeću p.n.e., rimski general Varus osudio je na smrt raspećem 2000 židova, a masovno raspeće dogodilo se i u prvom stoljeću nove ere tijekom rimsko-židovskih ratova. I Krist je osuđen na raspeće pod optužbom da je potaknuo pobunu protiv Rima.

U Rimu su ljudi osuđeni na smrt raspećem prethodno bičevani. Od bičevanja su izuzimane žene, rimski senatori i vojnici (osim ako nisu napustili službu). Osuđenika bi bičevali po golim leđima, nogama i stražnjici. To bi uzrokovalo teške rane, bolove i krvarenje. Često se događalo da se osuđenik, iscrpljen od mučenja, onesvijesti ili umre i prije samog čina raspeća.

Ako preživi bičevanje, osuđenik bi bio ponižavan i ismijavan, a svoj križ, na koji će biti razapet - nosio bi na leđima kroz ulice.

Okrutnost je ponekad išla i dalje - događalo se da vojnici osuđenicima odsijeku neki dio tijela, poput jezika; nije bila rijetkost ni da osuđenike oslijepe.

Pojedini izvori navode još jedan zastrašujući čin, koji je uveo grčki kralj Antikus IV. Taj čin je podrazumijevao da osuđenom zadave dijete i okače mu ga oko vrata prilikom raspeća. U Jeruzalemu, na primjer, žrtve su dobivale opijat - vino i tamjan, kako bi im se ublažila bol.

Njemački eksperiment

Smrt bi kod razapete osobe nastupala sporo. Osuđenici su umirali između tri sata i četiri dana. Nekada bi proces umiranja ubrzavali vojnici, tako što bi dodatno fizički zlostavljali žrtvu.

Članovi obitelji osuđenog su nakon raspeća, uz dozvolu rimskog suca, beživotno tijelo mogli skinuti s križa kako bi ga sahranili. U suprotnom leš bi bio ostavljen na milost i nemilost pticama grabljivicama.

Njemački istraživači su tijekom šezdesetih godina dvadesetog stoljeća probali napraviti eksperiment, kako bi proučili kakve efekte na organizam ima sam postupak raspeća.

Oni su dobrovoljcima privezali zglobove za križ i potom pratili aktivnosti respiratornog i kardiovaskularnog sistema. Nakon samo šest minuta volonteri su imali problema s disanjem, puls im se udvostručio, a krvni tlak pao. Eksperiment je obustavljen nakon 30 minuta zbog bolova u zglobovima. Rezultati istraživanja objavljeni su u časopisu Berlin Medicine 1963. godine.

Ovim istraživanjem pokazano je da su uzroci smrti usljed raspeća mogli biti različiti - višestruko otkazivanje organa, respiratorna insuficijencija i slično, piše National Geographic.
