Jutros se sve promijenilo. Ovdje u Rusiji, na vijestima se vrte slike tenkova koji ulaze u Ukrajinu, a voditelji nam govore da su naše akcije odgovor na ukrajinsku vojnu agresiju.

Nedavno sam razgovarao s ocem o sukobu u Ukrajini. Zabrinjava me svaka situacija koja uključuje agresiju, nepravdu ili rat. Moj otac je, međutim, bio ljutit i oštar. Vjerovao je da je sve što vlasti rade ispravno. Prema njegovim riječima, Ukrajina je izgrađena sovjetskim novcem i pripada Rusiji. Ako će i biti okupiran, ukrajinski narod se jednostavno spašava od svoje vlasti. I granice Rusije će biti sigurnije.

Moj otac je obrazovana osoba. On je srednja klasa. Ne radi za jednu od državnih agencija ili poduzeća. Čak ima i ukrajinske korijene. No njegovo se mišljenje potpuno poklapa s mišljenjem Vladimira Putina. Dok projektili napadaju ukrajinsku infrastrukturu, on je čvrsto uvjeren da se zemlja treba ujediniti i dokazati – još jednom pokazati svoju snagu i moć, a ne odstupiti. Zapad bi trebao shvatiti s kim ima posla, te da Rusi ne bacaju riječi u vjetar i ne možete s nama pregovarati ultimatumima.

Među mojim prijateljima, rodbinom i kolegama, malo je onih koji bi javno raspravljali o ruskom djelovanju kao činu agresije. Mnogi jer misle da je bolje ne raspravljati i razmišljati o tome. Mnogi nisu vjerovali da će doći do rata. Umjesto toga, ljudi su pričali o malim stvarima u svojim životima na koje će to utjecati. Sankcije. Opet. Naša sposobnost putovanja. Kako će stvari biti skuplje u dolarima i eurima. I kako će nas ljudi u Europi sada još više ne voljeti. Današnja vijest ih je šokirala. Sada se svi boje da više neće moći napustiti zemlju. Napokon su shvatili da će sve to utjecati na svakoga od njih. Prvi osjećaj koji su doživjeli je sram: sram zbog onoga što se događa i sramota što su građani agresora.

Mnogo mjeseci, ako pogledate mainstream medije, se govorilo da zapad ima podmukle planove koji će završiti ratom. Neprijatelj na vratima su Sjedinjene Države, NATO ili Europa. Rekli su da zapad planira rasporediti nuklearno oružje u Ukrajinu i oduzeti nam nuklearni arsenal. U konačnici preuzeti Rusiju: ​​podijeliti je, uništiti i rastaviti. To se ne govori samo u državnim vijestima, već se o tome raspravlja cijeli dan u velikim talk show emisijama kao što je Vrijeme će pokazati. Postoji osjećaj da smo autsajder – nismo voljeni, vrijeđani smo, podcijenjeni, neprihvaćeni. Svijet nas ponovno treba poštivati ​​– mogli bismo povratiti moć Ruskog carstva ili čak Sovjetskog Saveza.

Godinama su nam nuđeni strani glasovi i lica nesretnih proruski orijentiranih stanovnika Donbasa. Prikazani su kako mole za pomoć i za priznanje te govore kako se s njima loše postupa u Ukrajini. (Nikad ne čujemo kako smo mi – ili ruska vlada – financirali sukob u regiji.) Bilo je mnogo razloga zašto se ljudi slažu s ovim ili to u potpunosti podržavaju. Stariji ljudi još uvijek imaju sjećanja na sovjetsko doba; šutnja je bila preživljavanje, i to još uvijek lebdi nad njima. Mnogo je ljudi, posebno u ruralnim sredinama, gdje je puno posla u javnom sektoru i ima više pravila o javnom iznošenju mišljenja. Boje se da će izgubiti sredstva za život.

Mnogi mlađi ljudi rođeni tijekom ili nakon perestrojke žele otići, a mnogi su postali pasivni. Ne misle da mogu promijeniti situaciju. Sustav je uspostavio oštru kaznenu odgovornost za izražavanje vlastitog stava: do pet godina zatvora za prosvjede ili objave na internetu. Ekonomija stagnira. Ovisni smo o industriji fosilnih goriva, mnogi sektori su korumpirani i puni klijentelizma. Preuzimanje poslovanja od strane kriminalnih oligarha svima je očito. Lako je vjerovati da se ništa ne može promijeniti. Ovo je kompleks malog čovjeka, koji je godinama usađivala vlast – da sam ja mala beznačajna osoba koja ništa ne može.

Ipak, mislim da kao i ja, mnogi mlađi ljudi ne vjeruju površnoj propagandi o Ukrajini. Osuđujemo sve oblike agresije. Vjerujemo da je napad na Ukrajinu bio jasno planiran unaprijed – svi moji prijatelji dijele ovo uvjerenje. Postoji mnogo načina da dođete do informacija i da razmišljate svojom glavom, ako možete gledati i imate mozga – posebno za mlađe ljude. Postoje Telegram kanali. Hrabri blogeri i YouTuberi. Postoji mnogo načina da dobijete vijesti iz drugih zemalja i da pronađete ljude koji će kritizirati ono što se događa.

Vjerujem, i nadam se, da neće doći do eskalacije sukoba, ali će sankcije za Rusiju biti monstruozne. Bit će to globalna izolacija za nas. Službeni stav Kremlja je demilitarizacija i denacionalizacija Ukrajine. Ne znam kako živjeti s ovim: to je sramota. Ali kod nas nije moguć nikakav oblik protesta. Apsolutno nikakav. To je osjećaj bespomoćnog taoca.

Jutros se sve promijenilo. Ovdje u Rusiji, na vijestima se vrte slike tenkova koji ulaze u Ukrajinu, a voditelji nam govore da su naše akcije odgovor na ukrajinsku vojnu agresiju.

Nedavno sam razgovarao s ocem o sukobu u Ukrajini. Zabrinjava me svaka situacija koja uključuje agresiju, nepravdu ili rat. Moj otac je, međutim, bio ljutit i oštar. Vjerovao je da je sve što vlasti rade ispravno. Prema njegovim riječima, Ukrajina je izgrađena sovjetskim novcem i pripada Rusiji. Ako će i biti okupiran, ukrajinski narod se jednostavno spašava od svoje vlasti. I granice Rusije će biti sigurnije.

Moj otac je obrazovana osoba. On je srednja klasa. Ne radi za jednu od državnih agencija ili poduzeća. Čak ima i ukrajinske korijene. No njegovo se mišljenje potpuno poklapa s mišljenjem Vladimira Putina. Dok projektili napadaju ukrajinsku infrastrukturu, on je čvrsto uvjeren da se zemlja treba ujediniti i dokazati – još jednom pokazati svoju snagu i moć, a ne odstupiti. Zapad bi trebao shvatiti s kim ima posla, te da Rusi ne bacaju riječi u vjetar i ne možete s nama pregovarati ultimatumima.

Među mojim prijateljima, rodbinom i kolegama, malo je onih koji bi javno raspravljali o ruskom djelovanju kao činu agresije. Mnogi jer misle da je bolje ne raspravljati i razmišljati o tome. Mnogi nisu vjerovali da će doći do rata. Umjesto toga, ljudi su pričali o malim stvarima u svojim životima na koje će to utjecati. Sankcije. Opet. Naša sposobnost putovanja. Kako će stvari biti skuplje u dolarima i eurima. I kako će nas ljudi u Europi sada još više ne voljeti. Današnja vijest ih je šokirala. Sada se svi boje da više neće moći napustiti zemlju. Napokon su shvatili da će sve to utjecati na svakoga od njih. Prvi osjećaj koji su doživjeli je sram: sram zbog onoga što se događa i sramota što su građani agresora.

Mnogo mjeseci, ako pogledate mainstream medije, se govorilo da zapad ima podmukle planove koji će završiti ratom. Neprijatelj na vratima su Sjedinjene Države, NATO ili Europa. Rekli su da zapad planira rasporediti nuklearno oružje u Ukrajinu i oduzeti nam nuklearni arsenal. U konačnici preuzeti Rusiju: ​​podijeliti je, uništiti i rastaviti. To se ne govori samo u državnim vijestima, već se o tome raspravlja cijeli dan u velikim talk show emisijama kao što je Vrijeme će pokazati. Postoji osjećaj da smo autsajder – nismo voljeni, vrijeđani smo, podcijenjeni, neprihvaćeni. Svijet nas ponovno treba poštivati ​​– mogli bismo povratiti moć Ruskog carstva ili čak Sovjetskog Saveza.

Godinama su nam nuđeni strani glasovi i lica nesretnih proruski orijentiranih stanovnika Donbasa. Prikazani su kako mole za pomoć i za priznanje te govore kako se s njima loše postupa u Ukrajini. (Nikad ne čujemo kako smo mi – ili ruska vlada – financirali sukob u regiji.) Bilo je mnogo razloga zašto se ljudi slažu s ovim ili to u potpunosti podržavaju. Stariji ljudi još uvijek imaju sjećanja na sovjetsko doba; šutnja je bila preživljavanje, i to još uvijek lebdi nad njima. Mnogo je ljudi, posebno u ruralnim sredinama, gdje je puno posla u javnom sektoru i ima više pravila o javnom iznošenju mišljenja. Boje se da će izgubiti sredstva za život.

Mnogi mlađi ljudi rođeni tijekom ili nakon perestrojke žele otići, a mnogi su postali pasivni. Ne misle da mogu promijeniti situaciju. Sustav je uspostavio oštru kaznenu odgovornost za izražavanje vlastitog stava: do pet godina zatvora za prosvjede ili objave na internetu. Ekonomija stagnira. Ovisni smo o industriji fosilnih goriva, mnogi sektori su korumpirani i puni klijentelizma. Preuzimanje poslovanja od strane kriminalnih oligarha svima je očito. Lako je vjerovati da se ništa ne može promijeniti. Ovo je kompleks malog čovjeka, koji je godinama usađivala vlast – da sam ja mala beznačajna osoba koja ništa ne može.

Ipak, mislim da kao i ja, mnogi mlađi ljudi ne vjeruju površnoj propagandi o Ukrajini. Osuđujemo sve oblike agresije. Vjerujemo da je napad na Ukrajinu bio jasno planiran unaprijed – svi moji prijatelji dijele ovo uvjerenje. Postoji mnogo načina da dođete do informacija i da razmišljate svojom glavom, ako možete gledati i imate mozga – posebno za mlađe ljude. Postoje Telegram kanali. Hrabri blogeri i YouTuberi. Postoji mnogo načina da dobijete vijesti iz drugih zemalja i da pronađete ljude koji će kritizirati ono što se događa.

Vjerujem, i nadam se, da neće doći do eskalacije sukoba, ali će sankcije za Rusiju biti monstruozne. Bit će to globalna izolacija za nas. Službeni stav Kremlja je demilitarizacija i denacionalizacija Ukrajine. Ne znam kako živjeti s ovim: to je sramota. Ali kod nas nije moguć nikakav oblik protesta. Apsolutno nikakav. To je osjećaj bespomoćnog taoca.
