Ginekolog u Nizozemskoj začeo je 21 dijete i potencijalno još desetke koristeći vlastitu spermu nakon što su mu se budući roditelji obratili za liječenje neplodnosti, otkrila je istraga. Jos Beek je radio u bolnici Elisabeth u Leiderdorpu, sada dio bolnice Alrijne, između 1973. i 1998., a umro je 2019. godine. Parovi koje je Beek liječio očekivali su da će biti korisnici uzoraka anonimnih darivatelja sperme. Bolnica Alrijne priopćila je kako ne vjeruje da je Beek ikad ikome rekao istinu.

Skandal je izbio nakon što je organizacija koja prati biološke roditelje za one rođene koristeći anonimne donacije pronašla podudaranje između Beekove DNK i 21 djece čije su majke bile na liječenju u njegovoj klinici između 1973. i 1986. godine. Grupa, Fiom, kontaktirala je bolnicu Alrijne u lipnju prošle godine. Bolnica je potom početkom siječnja angažirala neovisno povjerenstvo za istragu.

Peter Jue, član upravnog odbora bolnice Alrijne, rekao je da ne može odbaciti mogućnost da je Beek bio biološki otac još mnogo djece nakon što je liječio njihove majke. Jue je rekao: “Jako smo šokirani ovim. To, naravno, ima značajan utjecaj na uključene roditelje i djecu. Odmah smo ušli u razgovor s djecom i roditeljima koji su htjeli, saslušati i obećati našu suradnju. Prepoznajemo situaciju u kojoj su se našli i želimo učiniti što je više moguće kako bi dobili sve potrebne informacije. Način na koji je ovaj liječnik postupio u to vrijeme je neprihvatljiv.”

Bolnička evidencija iz tog razdoblja više ne postoji, pa je upućen opći apel da se ljudi jave. Beek je treći liječnik za plodnost u Nizozemskoj za koji je utvrđeno da je koristio vlastitu spermu tijekom liječenja neplodnosti. U listopadu 2020. DNK testovi su otkrili da je ginekolog Jan Wildschut, koji je preminuo 2009., biološki otac 17 djece. Prethodne godine otkriveno je da je liječnik Jan Karbaat koristio vlastitu spermu u začeću 49 djece s nepoznatim pacijentima.

Jue je rekao da protokoli iz 1970-ih i 80-ih, kada je liječenje neplodnosti bilo u povojima, nisu imali nikakve veze s onima današnjice. U priopćenju iz bolnice stoji: “Čini se da je ovaj liječnik donirao vlastitu spermu i koristio je za oplodnju budućih majki koje su anonimno očekivale spermu. U godinama dok je ovaj liječnik radio, gotovo da nije bilo propisa o programima plodnosti. Polje se još razvijalo. Želimo naglasiti da je situacija sada potpuno drugačija. Koristimo se nacionalnim protokolima i radimo na dosljedan i pažljiv način. Naš rad se sada redovito provjerava kroz revizije.”

Prema zakonu koji je stupio na snagu 2004. godine, ljudi u Nizozemskoj imaju pravo znati identitet svojih bioloških roditelja nakon što navrše 16 godina.

Ginekolog u Nizozemskoj začeo je 21 dijete i potencijalno još desetke koristeći vlastitu spermu nakon što su mu se budući roditelji obratili za liječenje neplodnosti, otkrila je istraga. Jos Beek je radio u bolnici Elisabeth u Leiderdorpu, sada dio bolnice Alrijne, između 1973. i 1998., a umro je 2019. godine. Parovi koje je Beek liječio očekivali su da će biti korisnici uzoraka anonimnih darivatelja sperme. Bolnica Alrijne priopćila je kako ne vjeruje da je Beek ikad ikome rekao istinu.

Skandal je izbio nakon što je organizacija koja prati biološke roditelje za one rođene koristeći anonimne donacije pronašla podudaranje između Beekove DNK i 21 djece čije su majke bile na liječenju u njegovoj klinici između 1973. i 1986. godine. Grupa, Fiom, kontaktirala je bolnicu Alrijne u lipnju prošle godine. Bolnica je potom početkom siječnja angažirala neovisno povjerenstvo za istragu.

Peter Jue, član upravnog odbora bolnice Alrijne, rekao je da ne može odbaciti mogućnost da je Beek bio biološki otac još mnogo djece nakon što je liječio njihove majke. Jue je rekao: “Jako smo šokirani ovim. To, naravno, ima značajan utjecaj na uključene roditelje i djecu. Odmah smo ušli u razgovor s djecom i roditeljima koji su htjeli, saslušati i obećati našu suradnju. Prepoznajemo situaciju u kojoj su se našli i želimo učiniti što je više moguće kako bi dobili sve potrebne informacije. Način na koji je ovaj liječnik postupio u to vrijeme je neprihvatljiv.”

Bolnička evidencija iz tog razdoblja više ne postoji, pa je upućen opći apel da se ljudi jave. Beek je treći liječnik za plodnost u Nizozemskoj za koji je utvrđeno da je koristio vlastitu spermu tijekom liječenja neplodnosti. U listopadu 2020. DNK testovi su otkrili da je ginekolog Jan Wildschut, koji je preminuo 2009., biološki otac 17 djece. Prethodne godine otkriveno je da je liječnik Jan Karbaat koristio vlastitu spermu u začeću 49 djece s nepoznatim pacijentima.

Jue je rekao da protokoli iz 1970-ih i 80-ih, kada je liječenje neplodnosti bilo u povojima, nisu imali nikakve veze s onima današnjice. U priopćenju iz bolnice stoji: “Čini se da je ovaj liječnik donirao vlastitu spermu i koristio je za oplodnju budućih majki koje su anonimno očekivale spermu. U godinama dok je ovaj liječnik radio, gotovo da nije bilo propisa o programima plodnosti. Polje se još razvijalo. Želimo naglasiti da je situacija sada potpuno drugačija. Koristimo se nacionalnim protokolima i radimo na dosljedan i pažljiv način. Naš rad se sada redovito provjerava kroz revizije.”

Prema zakonu koji je stupio na snagu 2004. godine, ljudi u Nizozemskoj imaju pravo znati identitet svojih bioloških roditelja nakon što navrše 16 godina.

Ginekolog u Nizozemskoj začeo je 21 dijete i potencijalno još desetke koristeći vlastitu spermu nakon što su mu se budući roditelji obratili za liječenje neplodnosti, otkrila je istraga. Jos Beek je radio u bolnici Elisabeth u Leiderdorpu, sada dio bolnice Alrijne, između 1973. i 1998., a umro je 2019. godine. Parovi koje je Beek liječio očekivali su da će biti korisnici uzoraka anonimnih darivatelja sperme. Bolnica Alrijne priopćila je kako ne vjeruje da je Beek ikad ikome rekao istinu.
