Čega se pametan srami, time se budala ponosi – to je jedna od mogućih interpretacija odluke republikanskog guvernera Floride Rona DeSantisa da nekidan odlikuje agenta CIA-e Felixa Rodrigueza, koji je 1967. u Boliviji pomogao u hvatanju i smaknuću legendarnog argentinskog marksističkog revolucionara Ernesta Che Guevare.

Osim što je rukovodio i operativno nadgledao napore bolivijske vojske da locira i uhvati Che Guevaru, Rodriguez se nalazi i na posljednjoj fotografiji na kojoj je Che snimljen za života, nakon zarobljavanja: na njoj stoji kraj Chea. Bilo je to 9. listopada 1967. u selu La Higuera, neposredno prije nego što će upravo Rodriguez obavijestiti slavnog komunista da će biti strijeljan.
Da stvar bude ironična, orden koji je Rodriguez dobio zove se Medalja slobode, čime guverner Floride sugerira da borac za slobodu nije bio Che Guevara (iako milijuni mladih širom svijeta u svakoj generaciji nose majice s njegovim likom baš zbog tih slobodarskih konotacija), već onaj koji je pomogao da ga se uhvati i ubije.
Štoviše, guverner DeSantis tu je svoju definiciju slobode iskazao i pri dodjeli odlikovanja:
„Felix Rodríguez pobjegao je s komunističke Kube, prigrlio Ameriku kao svoj dom, borio se za slobodu u Zaljevu svinja i nastavio se boriti protiv komunizma u CIA-i, kao i u vojsci”, rekao je DeSantis u obrazloženju dodjele ordena Rodriguezu.
Borac za nekretnine
Dakle, Felix Rodriguez se u Zaljevu svinja borio za slobodu. Istina je, naravno, voda duboka. Rodriguez je bio jedan od 1500 kubanskih emigranata koje je nakon pobjede komunističke revolucije na Kubi CIA obučila u Gvatemali, od njih formirala zloglasnu Brigadu 2506 i u travnju 1961. ih iskrcala u Zaljevu svinja na Kubi, da (para)vojnim pučem obore komunističku vlast.
Ta je invazija doživjela debakl, a kubanske vlasti napravile su socioekonomsku analizu svih CIA-inih pučista. Veliki pano s tim podacima i danas stoji na plaži Giron u Zaljevu svinja, a za shvaćanje motivacije pripadnika Brigade 2506 dovoljan je podatak da su njihove obitelji prije komunističke revolucije imale na Kubi u prosjeku više od deset nekretnina (10,1).

Sad naslućujemo i socioekonomski milje iz kojeg je CIA regrutirala pripadnike brigade: to su mahom bili članovi onih obitelji koje su u prethodnom zločinačkom režimu proameričkog kubanskog diktatora Fulgencija Batiste činili gornju klasu kubanskog društva, pa je za njih komunističko uspostavljanje pravednijeg društva značilo gubitak nekretnina i privilegija koje su dotad uživali, nauštrb većine kubanskog stanovništva koja je grcala u siromaštvu.
To je bio slučaj i s Felixom Rodriguezom: njegov je ujak bio Batistin ministar. Drugim riječima: što god guverner Floride danas pričao, Rodriguez se u Zaljevu svinja nije borio za slobodu, nego za obiteljske nekretnine.
Trijumf poetske pravde
U listopadu 2017., na 50. godišnjicu Che Guevarina ubojstva, tada 76-godišnji Rodriguez je za englesko izdanje španjolskog „El Paisa” opisao zadnje trenutke Cheova života:
„Ušli smo u školu i tamo je bio Che, vezanih ruku i nogu, ležao je na podu ispod prozora s dva tijela iza sebe. Tada sam imao 26 godina. On je imao 39 godina. Izgledao je poput prosjaka. Odjeća mu je bila istrošena i prljava. Nije imao čizme, samo komade kože vezane za noge. Kosa mu je bila raščupana...”
Opisao je i Cheovu reakciju na obavijest da će ga strijeljati:
„Ušao sam u sobu i rekao: 'Comandante, žao mi je. To je zapovijed odozgo.' Točno je razumio na što mislim. Rekao je: 'Bolje je ovako. Nisam smio dopustiti da me uhvate živog.' Pa sam ga upitao: 'Što je s tvojom obitelji?' On je odgovorio s oštricom sarkazma: 'Reci Fidelu da će uskoro vidjeti uspješnu revoluciju u Americi.' Zatim je promijenio izraz lica i rekao: 'Ako možeš, reci mojoj ženi da se opet uda i pokuša biti sretna.' To su bile njegove zadnje riječi.”
Čini se da Rodriguez nije posve spokojan starac. O tome svjedoči izvještaj s dodjele Medalje slobode, objavljen na portalu Florida Politics, iz kojeg se vidi kako drži da su Cheove ideje prodrle duboko u SAD. Na svečanosti je, naime, rekao da ga brine što će „socijalistički režim preuzeti kontrolu nad Amerikom”.
„To se počinje događati”, rekao je Rodriguez, pozvavši okupljene da 2022. izađu na izbore za Zastupnički dom i Senat, jer gubitak tih tijela „može dovesti do Sjedinjenih Država socijalizma”.
„Izađite da vratimo ta dva doma, jer to je jedini način na koji ćemo spasiti Ameriku”, rekao je slavljenik, očito nesvjestan da njegov strah predstavlja trijumf poetske pravde: ubio si čovjeka u ime slobode, ali te njegova ideja slobode ispraća u grob.

Osim što je rukovodio i operativno nadgledao napore bolivijske vojske da locira i uhvati Che Guevaru, Rodriguez se nalazi i na posljednjoj fotografiji na kojoj je Che snimljen za života, nakon zarobljavanja: na njoj stoji kraj Chea. Bilo je to 9. listopada 1967. u selu La Higuera, neposredno prije nego što će upravo Rodriguez obavijestiti slavnog komunista da će biti strijeljan.
Da stvar bude ironična, orden koji je Rodriguez dobio zove se Medalja slobode, čime guverner Floride sugerira da borac za slobodu nije bio Che Guevara (iako milijuni mladih širom svijeta u svakoj generaciji nose majice s njegovim likom baš zbog tih slobodarskih konotacija), već onaj koji je pomogao da ga se uhvati i ubije.
Štoviše, guverner DeSantis tu je svoju definiciju slobode iskazao i pri dodjeli odlikovanja:
„Felix Rodríguez pobjegao je s komunističke Kube, prigrlio Ameriku kao svoj dom, borio se za slobodu u Zaljevu svinja i nastavio se boriti protiv komunizma u CIA-i, kao i u vojsci”, rekao je DeSantis u obrazloženju dodjele ordena Rodriguezu.
Borac za nekretnine
Dakle, Felix Rodriguez se u Zaljevu svinja borio za slobodu. Istina je, naravno, voda duboka. Rodriguez je bio jedan od 1500 kubanskih emigranata koje je nakon pobjede komunističke revolucije na Kubi CIA obučila u Gvatemali, od njih formirala zloglasnu Brigadu 2506 i u travnju 1961. ih iskrcala u Zaljevu svinja na Kubi, da (para)vojnim pučem obore komunističku vlast.
Ta je invazija doživjela debakl, a kubanske vlasti napravile su socioekonomsku analizu svih CIA-inih pučista. Veliki pano s tim podacima i danas stoji na plaži Giron u Zaljevu svinja, a za shvaćanje motivacije pripadnika Brigade 2506 dovoljan je podatak da su njihove obitelji prije komunističke revolucije imale na Kubi u prosjeku više od deset nekretnina (10,1).

Sad naslućujemo i socioekonomski milje iz kojeg je CIA regrutirala pripadnike brigade: to su mahom bili članovi onih obitelji koje su u prethodnom zločinačkom režimu proameričkog kubanskog diktatora Fulgencija Batiste činili gornju klasu kubanskog društva, pa je za njih komunističko uspostavljanje pravednijeg društva značilo gubitak nekretnina i privilegija koje su dotad uživali, nauštrb većine kubanskog stanovništva koja je grcala u siromaštvu.
To je bio slučaj i s Felixom Rodriguezom: njegov je ujak bio Batistin ministar. Drugim riječima: što god guverner Floride danas pričao, Rodriguez se u Zaljevu svinja nije borio za slobodu, nego za obiteljske nekretnine.
Trijumf poetske pravde
U listopadu 2017., na 50. godišnjicu Che Guevarina ubojstva, tada 76-godišnji Rodriguez je za englesko izdanje španjolskog „El Paisa” opisao zadnje trenutke Cheova života:
„Ušli smo u školu i tamo je bio Che, vezanih ruku i nogu, ležao je na podu ispod prozora s dva tijela iza sebe. Tada sam imao 26 godina. On je imao 39 godina. Izgledao je poput prosjaka. Odjeća mu je bila istrošena i prljava. Nije imao čizme, samo komade kože vezane za noge. Kosa mu je bila raščupana...”
Opisao je i Cheovu reakciju na obavijest da će ga strijeljati:
„Ušao sam u sobu i rekao: 'Comandante, žao mi je. To je zapovijed odozgo.' Točno je razumio na što mislim. Rekao je: 'Bolje je ovako. Nisam smio dopustiti da me uhvate živog.' Pa sam ga upitao: 'Što je s tvojom obitelji?' On je odgovorio s oštricom sarkazma: 'Reci Fidelu da će uskoro vidjeti uspješnu revoluciju u Americi.' Zatim je promijenio izraz lica i rekao: 'Ako možeš, reci mojoj ženi da se opet uda i pokuša biti sretna.' To su bile njegove zadnje riječi.”
Čini se da Rodriguez nije posve spokojan starac. O tome svjedoči izvještaj s dodjele Medalje slobode, objavljen na portalu Florida Politics, iz kojeg se vidi kako drži da su Cheove ideje prodrle duboko u SAD. Na svečanosti je, naime, rekao da ga brine što će „socijalistički režim preuzeti kontrolu nad Amerikom”.
„To se počinje događati”, rekao je Rodriguez, pozvavši okupljene da 2022. izađu na izbore za Zastupnički dom i Senat, jer gubitak tih tijela „može dovesti do Sjedinjenih Država socijalizma”.
„Izađite da vratimo ta dva doma, jer to je jedini način na koji ćemo spasiti Ameriku”, rekao je slavljenik, očito nesvjestan da njegov strah predstavlja trijumf poetske pravde: ubio si čovjeka u ime slobode, ali te njegova ideja slobode ispraća u grob.
