Urednik Timea Rick Stengel objavio je izbor u srijedu u emisiji Today TV mreže NBC-a.

"On je stvorio i iskoristio novu i dobru Ameriku - Ameriku nove demografske strukture i nove kulture, koju on sada i simbolizira", rekao je Stengel.

"Ponovno je izabran unatoč stopi nezaposlenosti višoj i od jedne s kojom se (neki kandidat) morao suočiti u zadnjih 70 godina. On je prvi demokrat koji je izbore dvaput zaredom dobio natpolovičnom većinom glasova. To nismo vidjeli od Franklina Delana Roosevelta", rekao je Stengel. Roosevelt je bio Američki predsjednik u vrijeme Velike depresije 30-ih godina 20. stoljeća i Drugoga svjetskog rata.

U konkurenciji za Timeovu ličnost godine Obama je pobijedio Malalu Yousufzai, pakistansku djevojčicu kojoj su talibani pucali u glavu jer se zalagala za obrazovanje djevojčica, dodao je Stengel.

Ostali su finalisti bili Appleov direktor Tim Cook, egipatski predsjednik Mohamed Morsi i talijanska fizičarka Fabiola Gianotti.

Urednik Timea Rick Stengel objavio je izbor u srijedu u emisiji Today TV mreže NBC-a.

"On je stvorio i iskoristio novu i dobru Ameriku - Ameriku nove demografske strukture i nove kulture, koju on sada i simbolizira", rekao je Stengel.

"Ponovno je izabran unatoč stopi nezaposlenosti višoj i od jedne s kojom se (neki kandidat) morao suočiti u zadnjih 70 godina. On je prvi demokrat koji je izbore dvaput zaredom dobio natpolovičnom većinom glasova. To nismo vidjeli od Franklina Delana Roosevelta", rekao je Stengel. Roosevelt je bio Američki predsjednik u vrijeme Velike depresije 30-ih godina 20. stoljeća i Drugoga svjetskog rata.

U konkurenciji za Timeovu ličnost godine Obama je pobijedio Malalu Yousufzai, pakistansku djevojčicu kojoj su talibani pucali u glavu jer se zalagala za obrazovanje djevojčica, dodao je Stengel.

Ostali su finalisti bili Appleov direktor Tim Cook, egipatski predsjednik Mohamed Morsi i talijanska fizičarka Fabiola Gianotti.

Američki predsjednik Barack Obama proglašen je osobom 2012. godine u izboru tjednika Time, a izbor je obrazložen njegovim povijesnim reizborom u studenome u Americi promijenjene demografske strukture, u vrijeme velike nezaposlenosti i drugih problema.
