Budući da se mogućnost nuklearnog rata ponovno nazire na horizontu, možda bi bilo vrijedno provjeriti što se može učiniti, ako je to uopće moguće – kako bi se povećale vaše šanse za preživljavanje.

Studija, objavljena prije nekoliko godina, bavila se time kako ponašanje neke osobe može promijeniti njezine šanse za preživljavanje, kao i najbolji način djelovanja ako ogromna kugla smrti eksplodira u središtu grada u kojemu živite, piše IFL Science.

Već imamo prilično dobru ideju o tome što se događa s gradom kada se detonira nuklearna bomba. Da je riječ o površinskoj eksploziji, tada bi se zračenje proširilo dalje i vatrena kugla u središtu bila bi veća nego da je detonirala iznad grada.

Ta vatrena lopta – koja nastaje u milijuntome dijelu sekunde – toliko je vruća da bi sve u neposrednoj blizini bilo uništeno. U osnovi, sva bi se materija – bilo da se radi o zgradi u kojoj se nalazite, stolici na kojoj sjedite ili vama samima – pretvorila iz krutog u plinovito stanje. U scenariju studije predviđa se da bi se cijeli blok u Washingtonu DC pretvorio izravno u plazmu.

Slijedom toga, toplinsko zračenje razradilo bi opekline prvog stupnja, uz očekivano nuklearno zračenje. U isto vrijeme, masivni udarni val bi se širio sve dok vam ne preostane samo nuklearna kiša. Sve je to fizika i sve je to predvidljivo.

Međutim, ljudi su nepredvidljivi. Niz je različitih scenarija onoga što bi ljudi mogli učiniti, u rasponu od najmanje složenog ponašanja do onih koji djeluju i reagiraju na svoj način, bilo kroz traženje skloništa, evakuaciju područja ili traženje zdravstvene skrbi. Istraživački tim je zatim izračunao najbolji smjer djelovanja.

Prvi val smrti ne može se izbjeći

U prvih 10 minuta, bez obzira na to što netko radio, 90.000 ljudi će umrijeti. Ali ako nitko ništa ne poduzme, tada će umrijeti puno više ljudi, prema studiji, otprilike do 279.020 u razdoblju od 48 sati. Broj smrtnih slučajeva dramatično opada ako ljudi najmanje 12 sati ostanu u svojim domovima.

Istraživači su također shvatili što bi se vjerojatno dogodilo da preživjeli odu tražiti svoje voljene. Začudo, mnogi zapravo putuju u zonu udara. Kao što bi se i očekivalo, više će ljudi umrijeti ako potraže članove obitelji jer je veća vjerojatnost da će napustiti svoje sklonište i tako biti izloženi zračenju. Istraživači su primijetili da bi se ta smrtnost mogla minimalizirati brzim popravljanjem komunikacija kako bi ljudi mogli nazvati bližnje i znati da su sigurni.

Stoga se čini da je bolje bunkerirati se u svojoj kući, paziti na sebe i zaboraviti na pokušaj spašavanja prijatelja, voljenih ili kućnih ljubimaca. Neka se sami snalaze, piše IFL Science.

Budući da se mogućnost nuklearnog rata ponovno nazire na horizontu, možda bi bilo vrijedno provjeriti što se može učiniti, ako je to uopće moguće – kako bi se povećale vaše šanse za preživljavanje.

Studija, objavljena prije nekoliko godina, bavila se time kako ponašanje neke osobe može promijeniti njezine šanse za preživljavanje, kao i najbolji način djelovanja ako ogromna kugla smrti eksplodira u središtu grada u kojemu živite, piše IFL Science.

Evo scenarija: improvizirana nuklearna naprava od 10 kilotona detonirana je u centru Washingtona DC 15. svibnja 2006. u 11 sati i 15 minuta. Što bi se dogodilo?

Već imamo prilično dobru ideju o tome što se događa s gradom kada se detonira nuklearna bomba. Da je riječ o površinskoj eksploziji, tada bi se zračenje proširilo dalje i vatrena kugla u središtu bila bi veća nego da je detonirala iznad grada.

Ta vatrena lopta – koja nastaje u milijuntome dijelu sekunde – toliko je vruća da bi sve u neposrednoj blizini bilo uništeno. U osnovi, sva bi se materija – bilo da se radi o zgradi u kojoj se nalazite, stolici na kojoj sjedite ili vama samima – pretvorila iz krutog u plinovito stanje. U scenariju studije predviđa se da bi se cijeli blok u Washingtonu DC pretvorio izravno u plazmu.

Slijedom toga, toplinsko zračenje razradilo bi opekline prvog stupnja, uz očekivano nuklearno zračenje. U isto vrijeme, masivni udarni val bi se širio sve dok vam ne preostane samo nuklearna kiša. Sve je to fizika i sve je to predvidljivo.

Međutim, ljudi su nepredvidljivi. Niz je različitih scenarija onoga što bi ljudi mogli učiniti, u rasponu od najmanje složenog ponašanja do onih koji djeluju i reagiraju na svoj način, bilo kroz traženje skloništa, evakuaciju područja ili traženje zdravstvene skrbi. Istraživački tim je zatim izračunao najbolji smjer djelovanja.

Prvi val smrti ne može se izbjeći

U prvih 10 minuta, bez obzira na to što netko radio, 90.000 ljudi će umrijeti. Ali ako nitko ništa ne poduzme, tada će umrijeti puno više ljudi, prema studiji, otprilike do 279.020 u razdoblju od 48 sati. Broj smrtnih slučajeva dramatično opada ako ljudi najmanje 12 sati ostanu u svojim domovima.

Istraživači su također shvatili što bi se vjerojatno dogodilo da preživjeli odu tražiti svoje voljene. Začudo, mnogi zapravo putuju u zonu udara. Kao što bi se i očekivalo, više će ljudi umrijeti ako potraže članove obitelji jer je veća vjerojatnost da će napustiti svoje sklonište i tako biti izloženi zračenju. Istraživači su primijetili da bi se ta smrtnost mogla minimalizirati brzim popravljanjem komunikacija kako bi ljudi mogli nazvati bližnje i znati da su sigurni.

Stoga se čini da je bolje bunkerirati se u svojoj kući, paziti na sebe i zaboraviti na pokušaj spašavanja prijatelja, voljenih ili kućnih ljubimaca. Neka se sami snalaze, piše IFL Science.
