Šestero novinara privedeno je u Južnome Sudanu nakon što je u javnost iscurila viralna snimka na kojoj se vidi kako se predsjednik države Salva Kiir nenamjerno pomokrio na službenoj svečanosti otvaranja cesta dok je intonirana nacionalna himna, objavio je u u subotu nacionalni sindikat novinara. 

Na početku snimke iz polovice prosinca 72-godišnji predsjednik isprva nije ni svjestan da mu se niz hlače širi mrlja koja se pod njegovim stopalima pretvara u lokvicu. Kamerman koji je sve snimao brzo je prešao na drugi kadar, a istodobno su Kiir i njegova svita shvatili što se događa. Video-snimka nikada nije prikazana u tv programu, no kasnije je počela kružiti društvenim mrežama. Snimka je dovela u pitanje zdravstveno stanje i sposobnost 72-godišnjeg predsjednika da vodi naciju, a istodobno se postavilo i pitanje etičnosti u pogledu njezine objave.

Novinari, koji surađuju s državnom tvrtkom South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, privedeni su u utorak i srijedu, rekao je Patrick Oyet, predsjednik Sindikata novinara Južnog Sudana. Pritvoreni su pod sumnjom da su neovlašteno objavili snimku. Reutersu je rekao da su "osumnjičeni zbog toga što su znali na koji je način snimka predsjednika koji mokri za vrijeme javnog događaja iscurila u javnost". Ministarstvo informiranja i nacionalne sigurnosti agenciji nije odgovorilo na zahtjev za komentar.

Kiir je predsjednik države otkako je Južni Sudan stekao neovisnost 2011. Od tada nijednom nisu održani izbori. Vladini dužnosnici više su puta demantirali glasine koje su kružile društvenim medijima o tomu da predsjednik nije dobroga zdravlja. Zemlja je bila upletena u sukob veći dio prošlog desetljeća.

"Zabrinuti smo jer su kolege koji su u pritvoru, ondje ostali dulje nego što to nalaže zakon", rekao je Oyet.

Sukladno zakonu južnosudanske vlasti osumnjičenike smiju pritvoriti na 24 sata prije nego što ih izvedu pred suca. Incident se "poklapa s obrascem u sklopu kojega sigurnosno osoblje pribjegava proizvoljnom pritvaranju ljudi kad god državni službenici smatraju da je izvještavanje nepovoljno", rekao je predstavnik Odbora za zaštitu novinara za subsaharsku Afriku, Muthoki Mumo.

Šestero novinara privedeno je u Južnome Sudanu nakon što je u javnost iscurila viralna snimka na kojoj se vidi kako se predsjednik države Salva Kiir nenamjerno pomokrio na službenoj svečanosti otvaranja cesta dok je intonirana nacionalna himna, objavio je u u subotu nacionalni sindikat novinara. 

Na početku snimke iz polovice prosinca 72-godišnji predsjednik isprva nije ni svjestan da mu se niz hlače širi mrlja koja se pod njegovim stopalima pretvara u lokvicu. Kamerman koji je sve snimao brzo je prešao na drugi kadar, a istodobno su Kiir i njegova svita shvatili što se događa. Video-snimka nikada nije prikazana u tv programu, no kasnije je počela kružiti društvenim mrežama. Snimka je dovela u pitanje zdravstveno stanje i sposobnost 72-godišnjeg predsjednika da vodi naciju, a istodobno se postavilo i pitanje etičnosti u pogledu njezine objave.

Novinari, koji surađuju s državnom tvrtkom South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, privedeni su u utorak i srijedu, rekao je Patrick Oyet, predsjednik Sindikata novinara Južnog Sudana. Pritvoreni su pod sumnjom da su neovlašteno objavili snimku. Reutersu je rekao da su "osumnjičeni zbog toga što su znali na koji je način snimka predsjednika koji mokri za vrijeme javnog događaja iscurila u javnost". Ministarstvo informiranja i nacionalne sigurnosti agenciji nije odgovorilo na zahtjev za komentar.

Kiir je predsjednik države otkako je Južni Sudan stekao neovisnost 2011. Od tada nijednom nisu održani izbori. Vladini dužnosnici više su puta demantirali glasine koje su kružile društvenim medijima o tomu da predsjednik nije dobroga zdravlja. Zemlja je bila upletena u sukob veći dio prošlog desetljeća.

"Zabrinuti smo jer su kolege koji su u pritvoru, ondje ostali dulje nego što to nalaže zakon", rekao je Oyet.

Sukladno zakonu južnosudanske vlasti osumnjičenike smiju pritvoriti na 24 sata prije nego što ih izvedu pred suca. Incident se "poklapa s obrascem u sklopu kojega sigurnosno osoblje pribjegava proizvoljnom pritvaranju ljudi kad god državni službenici smatraju da je izvještavanje nepovoljno", rekao je predstavnik Odbora za zaštitu novinara za subsaharsku Afriku, Muthoki Mumo.

Šestero novinara privedeno je u Južnome Sudanu nakon što je u javnost iscurila viralna snimka na kojoj se vidi kako se predsjednik države Salva Kiir nenamjerno pomokrio na službenoj svečanosti otvaranja cesta dok je intonirana nacionalna himna, objavio je u u subotu nacionalni sindikat novinara. 

Na početku snimke iz polovice prosinca 72-godišnji predsjednik isprva nije ni svjestan da mu se niz hlače širi mrlja koja se pod njegovim stopalima pretvara u lokvicu. Kamerman koji je sve snimao brzo je prešao na drugi kadar, a istodobno su Kiir i njegova svita shvatili što se događa.
