Dvije sestre iz Saudijske Arabije pronađene su mrtve u svojim krevetima u Sydneyu, a policija istražuje može li se njihova smrt povezati s njihovim sudjelovanjem na queer događaju. Poznanici su potvrdili da je jedna sestra sigurno bila queer, dok za drugu nisu sigurni. Upravo su iz tog razloga, naime, 2017. godine pobjegle iz Saudijske Arabije, a u Sydneyu su predale zahtjev za azil, piše Jutarnji list. 

Tijela Asre Abdullah Alsehli (24) i Amaale Abdullah Alsehli (23) pronađena su u njihovom stanju 7. lipnja, a policija je utvrdila da su nesretne djevojke u tom trenutku bile mrtve više od mjesec dana. Budući da nije bilo znakova ozljeda na njihovim tijelima ni naznaka da je netko nasilno ušao u stan, policija i dalje nije sigurna kako je došlo do njihove smrti.

Istražitelji pokušavaju doznati jesu sestre prije smrti bile proganjane zbog svoje seksualnosti. Za Guardian nisu željeli komentirati nagađanja da je bila riječ o samoubojstvima, kao ni bilo kakve druge informacije koji su od lipnja izašle u javnost. Samo su potvrdili da je policija u kontaktu s obitelji sestara u Saudijskoj Arabiji te da ih ne smatraju osumnjičenima.

Sestre su u Australiji vodile vrlo povučene živote, s malo prijatelja i kontakata, a žena koja ih je upoznala na spomenutom queer događaju kaže kako sestre u novoj zemlji još uvijek nisu bile potpuno opuštene pa su se, četiri godine nakon dolaska, grad Sydney tek spremale istražile.

- Kada smo se upoznale, spomenule su da su iz Saudijske Arabije pa smo razgovarale kako je biti queer tamo. Rekle su da tamo žene žive u strahu za svoju sigurnost i da su zahvalne što žive u Australiji jer se tu mogle slobodnije izražavati – prisjeća se. Kada se raspitivala o njihovu životu prije odlaska iz Saudijske Arabije i kontaktu s obitelji, samo su kratko odgovarale izbjegavajući temu.

- Željela sam biti sigurna da je policija svjesna da je barem jedna od sestara otvoreno queer jer to za saudijske žene doslovno znači “imati metu na leđima.” Nadam se da bi ova informacija mogla pomoći da saznamo što im se dogodilo – komentirala je žena koja je željela ostati anonimna.

Prema svjetskom izvješću Human Rights Watcha za 2022., suci u Saudijskoj Arabiji “koriste načela nekodificiranog islamskog zakona kako bi sankcionirali osobe osumnjičene za seksualne odnose izvan braka, uključujući istospolne odnose.” Napominje se kako zemlja nema nikakve pisane zakone koji se odnose na pitanje seksualne orijentacije ili rodnog identiteta.

Odvjetnik koji radi sa saudijskim tražiteljima azila je komentirao za Guardian Australia da ga ne čudi što su sestre smatrale da zbog svoje seksualnosti moraju pobjeći iz Saudijske Arabije.

- Značajan broj ljudi u saudijskoj azilantskoj zajednici pobjegao je zbog svoje seksualne orijentacije i zbog progona koji su pretrpjeli jer su znali da se neće dobro provesti ako otkriju svoje seksualne sklonosti - rekao je.

Konkretno, u posljednjih je pet godina 75 Saudijki dobilo vizu za stalnu zaštitu u Australiji.

Dvije sestre iz Saudijske Arabije pronađene su mrtve u svojim krevetima u Sydneyu, a policija istražuje može li se njihova smrt povezati s njihovim sudjelovanjem na queer događaju. Poznanici su potvrdili da je jedna sestra sigurno bila queer, dok za drugu nisu sigurni. Upravo su iz tog razloga, naime, 2017. godine pobjegle iz Saudijske Arabije, a u Sydneyu su predale zahtjev za azil, piše Jutarnji list. 

Tijela Asre Abdullah Alsehli (24) i Amaale Abdullah Alsehli (23) pronađena su u njihovom stanju 7. lipnja, a policija je utvrdila da su nesretne djevojke u tom trenutku bile mrtve više od mjesec dana. Budući da nije bilo znakova ozljeda na njihovim tijelima ni naznaka da je netko nasilno ušao u stan, policija i dalje nije sigurna kako je došlo do njihove smrti.

Istražitelji pokušavaju doznati jesu sestre prije smrti bile proganjane zbog svoje seksualnosti. Za Guardian nisu željeli komentirati nagađanja da je bila riječ o samoubojstvima, kao ni bilo kakve druge informacije koji su od lipnja izašle u javnost. Samo su potvrdili da je policija u kontaktu s obitelji sestara u Saudijskoj Arabiji te da ih ne smatraju osumnjičenima.

Sestre su u Australiji vodile vrlo povučene živote, s malo prijatelja i kontakata, a žena koja ih je upoznala na spomenutom queer događaju kaže kako sestre u novoj zemlji još uvijek nisu bile potpuno opuštene pa su se, četiri godine nakon dolaska, grad Sydney tek spremale istražile.

- Kada smo se upoznale, spomenule su da su iz Saudijske Arabije pa smo razgovarale kako je biti queer tamo. Rekle su da tamo žene žive u strahu za svoju sigurnost i da su zahvalne što žive u Australiji jer se tu mogle slobodnije izražavati – prisjeća se. Kada se raspitivala o njihovu životu prije odlaska iz Saudijske Arabije i kontaktu s obitelji, samo su kratko odgovarale izbjegavajući temu.

- Željela sam biti sigurna da je policija svjesna da je barem jedna od sestara otvoreno queer jer to za saudijske žene doslovno znači “imati metu na leđima.” Nadam se da bi ova informacija mogla pomoći da saznamo što im se dogodilo – komentirala je žena koja je željela ostati anonimna.

Prema svjetskom izvješću Human Rights Watcha za 2022., suci u Saudijskoj Arabiji “koriste načela nekodificiranog islamskog zakona kako bi sankcionirali osobe osumnjičene za seksualne odnose izvan braka, uključujući istospolne odnose.” Napominje se kako zemlja nema nikakve pisane zakone koji se odnose na pitanje seksualne orijentacije ili rodnog identiteta.

Odvjetnik koji radi sa saudijskim tražiteljima azila je komentirao za Guardian Australia da ga ne čudi što su sestre smatrale da zbog svoje seksualnosti moraju pobjeći iz Saudijske Arabije.

- Značajan broj ljudi u saudijskoj azilantskoj zajednici pobjegao je zbog svoje seksualne orijentacije i zbog progona koji su pretrpjeli jer su znali da se neće dobro provesti ako otkriju svoje seksualne sklonosti - rekao je.

Konkretno, u posljednjih je pet godina 75 Saudijki dobilo vizu za stalnu zaštitu u Australiji.

Misteriozna smrt sestara iz Saudijske Arabije muči australsku policiju, nagađaju da se tajna krije u jednoj zabavi

Dvije sestre iz Saudijske Arabije pronađene su mrtve u svojim krevetima u Sydneyu, a policija istražuje može li se njihova smrt povezati s njihovim sudjelovanjem na queer događaju. Poznanici su potvrdili da je jedna sestra sigurno bila queer, dok za drugu nisu sigurni. Upravo su iz tog razloga, naime, 2017. godine pobjegle iz Saudijske Arabije, a u Sydneyu su predale zahtjev za azil, piše Jutarnji list. 

Tijela Asre Abdullah Alsehli (24) i Amaale Abdullah Alsehli (23) pronađena su u njihovom stanju 7. lipnja, a policija je utvrdila da su nesretne djevojke u tom trenutku bile mrtve više od mjesec dana. Budući da nije bilo znakova ozljeda na njihovim tijelima ni naznaka da je netko nasilno ušao u stan, policija i dalje nije sigurna kako je došlo do njihove smrti.
