Najstrašniji okršaj zatvorskih bandi u povijesti izbio je u jednom od najvećih zatvora u Ekvadoru, "Penitenciaria del Litoral", koji se nalazi u Guayaquilu, glavnom gradu obalne pokrajine Guayas na jugozapadu zemlje. Guayaquil je najveći ekvatroski grad i najveći zaljev na cijeloj zapadnoj obali Južne Amerike.

Kao glavni lučki grad Ekvadora, glavno je središte za transport južnoameričkog kokaina do sjevernih točaka, osobito SAD-a.

Guayaquil broji 2,698 milijuna stanovnika, od čega gotovo 39 000 zatvorenika.

Ekvadorske zatvorske bande već se godinama sukobljavaju zbog trgovine drogom, što im polazi za rukom prije svega zahvaljujući nedovoljnom broju čuvara.

Naime, ekvadorski zatvorski sustav može prihvatiti 29 tisuća zatvorenika, ali je u pretrpanim zatvorima diljem zemlje smješteno njih znatno više. Puni kapacitet premašen je za gotovo deset tisuća ljudi, budući da je, prema nekim izvorima, u zatvorima smješteno gotovo 39 000 zatvorenika.

Zatvorenike nadgleda oko 1 500 čuvara, što je, prema mišljenju stručnjaka, deficit od čak 2500 zaposlenika. Upravo se zato nasilna zatvorska populacija opetovano otima kontroli.

U veljači ove godine, primjerice, nemiri su izbili u četiri zatvora istovremeno, pri čemu je stradalo osamdeset zatvorenika. Do danas je to bio najveći takav sukob u povijesti zemlje.

Precizna i naizgled neobjašnjiva koordinacija njihovih pripadnika, smještenih u odvojenim ustanovama, prenerazila je javnost.

Ministar unutarnjih poslova Patricio Pazmino, koji je u međuvremenu podnio ostavku, povezao je navedene nerede s organiziranim kriminalom, navodeći kao razlog 22 tone kokaina zaplijenjene u zemlji u prva dva mjeseca 2021. godine.

Pokazalo se da su  meta bili članovi dugovječne i zloglasne bande Los Choneros, koja je izgubila svoga vođu dva mjeseca ranije, u prosincu 2020. godine.

Četiri bande - Los Chone Killers, Los Lobos, Los Pipos i Los Tiguerones - urotile su se tada protiv fragmentiranih i oslabljenih Los Chonerosa, kojima su ranije bile saveznice.

Los Choneros su jedna od najžešćih zatvorskih bandi u zemlji, sa stalnim prisustvom u kaznionicama diljem Ekvadora, kao i operacijama u više gradova, a gravitirale su im brojne manje zatvorske i ulične bande, sve do spomenute izdaje.

Nakon smirivanja sukoba, pojavila se nova koalicija pobunjenih skupina, koja se nazivala "novom generacijom" (Nueva Generación). Ubrzo su uslijedili novi neredi.

U travnju je u sukobu vatrenim oružjem poginulo pet zatvorenika, a još ih je petnaest ozlijeđeno. U srpnju je u istoj kaznionici život izgubilo 27 zatvorenika.

Ekvadorski zatvorski sustav već je neko vrijeme poprište okršaja između meksičkih narko-bandi, a najnovije sukobe pokrenuli su upravo karteli „nove generacije“.

Najnoviji nered uključivao je pucnjavu, noževe i eksplozije, a uzrokovan je sporom između skupina "Los Lobos" i "Los Choneros", rekli su dužnosnici.

- Zatvorska kriza traje od 2010. godine, s prosječno 25 ubojstava godišnje, ali se značajno ubrzala 2017., dosegnuvši svoj vrhunac ove godine, u kojoj smo već premašili 160 ubojstava -rekao je ekvadorski sigurnosni stručnjak Fernando Carrion za novinsku agenciju AFP.

Prošle godine u zatvorima su zabilježena 103 ubojstva, a unos oružja i streljiva omogućila je korupcija.

Prošli tjedan policija je u jednom od gradskih zatvora zaplijenila dva pištolja, revolver, oko 500 komada streljiva, ručnu bombu, nekoliko noževa, dva štapa dinamita i eksploziv domaće izrade.

Trgovina drogom vjerojatno je katalizator smrtonosnih nereda u Ekvadoru, iako nije izravni uzrok kakvim ga smatraju dužnosnici, navodi InSight.

Budući da je zaglavljen između proizvođača kokaina, Perua i Kolumbije, Ekvador predstavlja glavni kanal kojim ilegalna roba kreće u Europu i SAD. Kako je objašnjeno na portalu InSight, ekvador nema domaće narko-mafije. Ima ulične i zatvorske bande, ali njima nedostaje sofisticiranosti potrebne za upravljanje multinacionalnim mrežama za trgovinu ljudima, kakve su poznate u susjednim zemljama.

Najstrašniji okršaj zatvorskih bandi u povijesti izbio je u jednom od najvećih zatvora u Ekvadoru, "Penitenciaria del Litoral", koji se nalazi u Guayaquilu, glavnom gradu obalne pokrajine Guayas na jugozapadu zemlje. Guayaquil je najveći ekvatroski grad i najveći zaljev na cijeloj zapadnoj obali Južne Amerike.

Kao glavni lučki grad Ekvadora, glavno je središte za transport južnoameričkog kokaina do sjevernih točaka, osobito SAD-a.

Guayaquil broji 2,698 milijuna stanovnika, od čega gotovo 39 000 zatvorenika.

Ekvadorske zatvorske bande već se godinama sukobljavaju zbog trgovine drogom, što im polazi za rukom prije svega zahvaljujući nedovoljnom broju čuvara.

Naime, ekvadorski zatvorski sustav može prihvatiti 29 tisuća zatvorenika, ali je u pretrpanim zatvorima diljem zemlje smješteno njih znatno više. Puni kapacitet premašen je za gotovo deset tisuća ljudi, budući da je, prema nekim izvorima, u zatvorima smješteno gotovo 39 000 zatvorenika.

Zatvorenike nadgleda oko 1 500 čuvara, što je, prema mišljenju stručnjaka, deficit od čak 2500 zaposlenika. Upravo se zato nasilna zatvorska populacija opetovano otima kontroli.

U veljači ove godine, primjerice, nemiri su izbili u četiri zatvora istovremeno, pri čemu je stradalo osamdeset zatvorenika. Do danas je to bio najveći takav sukob u povijesti zemlje.

Precizna i naizgled neobjašnjiva koordinacija njihovih pripadnika, smještenih u odvojenim ustanovama, prenerazila je javnost.

Ministar unutarnjih poslova Patricio Pazmino, koji je u međuvremenu podnio ostavku, povezao je navedene nerede s organiziranim kriminalom, navodeći kao razlog 22 tone kokaina zaplijenjene u zemlji u prva dva mjeseca 2021. godine.

Pokazalo se da su  meta bili članovi dugovječne i zloglasne bande Los Choneros, koja je izgubila svoga vođu dva mjeseca ranije, u prosincu 2020. godine.

Četiri bande - Los Chone Killers, Los Lobos, Los Pipos i Los Tiguerones - urotile su se tada protiv fragmentiranih i oslabljenih Los Chonerosa, kojima su ranije bile saveznice.

Los Choneros su jedna od najžešćih zatvorskih bandi u zemlji, sa stalnim prisustvom u kaznionicama diljem Ekvadora, kao i operacijama u više gradova, a gravitirale su im brojne manje zatvorske i ulične bande, sve do spomenute izdaje.

Nakon smirivanja sukoba, pojavila se nova koalicija pobunjenih skupina, koja se nazivala "novom generacijom" (Nueva Generación). Ubrzo su uslijedili novi neredi.

U travnju je u sukobu vatrenim oružjem poginulo pet zatvorenika, a još ih je petnaest ozlijeđeno. U srpnju je u istoj kaznionici život izgubilo 27 zatvorenika.

Ekvadorski zatvorski sustav već je neko vrijeme poprište okršaja između meksičkih narko-bandi, a najnovije sukobe pokrenuli su upravo karteli „nove generacije“.

Najnoviji nered uključivao je pucnjavu, noževe i eksplozije, a uzrokovan je sporom između skupina "Los Lobos" i "Los Choneros", rekli su dužnosnici.

- Zatvorska kriza traje od 2010. godine, s prosječno 25 ubojstava godišnje, ali se značajno ubrzala 2017., dosegnuvši svoj vrhunac ove godine, u kojoj smo već premašili 160 ubojstava -rekao je ekvadorski sigurnosni stručnjak Fernando Carrion za novinsku agenciju AFP.

Prošle godine u zatvorima su zabilježena 103 ubojstva, a unos oružja i streljiva omogućila je korupcija.

Prošli tjedan policija je u jednom od gradskih zatvora zaplijenila dva pištolja, revolver, oko 500 komada streljiva, ručnu bombu, nekoliko noževa, dva štapa dinamita i eksploziv domaće izrade.

Trgovina drogom vjerojatno je katalizator smrtonosnih nereda u Ekvadoru, iako nije izravni uzrok kakvim ga smatraju dužnosnici, navodi InSight.

Budući da je zaglavljen između proizvođača kokaina, Perua i Kolumbije, Ekvador predstavlja glavni kanal kojim ilegalna roba kreće u Europu i SAD. Kako je objašnjeno na portalu InSight, ekvador nema domaće narko-mafije. Ima ulične i zatvorske bande, ali njima nedostaje sofisticiranosti potrebne za upravljanje multinacionalnim mrežama za trgovinu ljudima, kakve su poznate u susjednim zemljama.
