Kina je objavila kako je navodni špijunski balon primijećen iznad SAD-a ustvari "civilni zračni brod" koji se koristi uglavnom za praćenje vremena, a koji je skrenuo s kursa, javlja BBC.
U priopćenju je kinesko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova reklo da je balon korišten u "uglavnom meteorološke" svrhe.
Kina "žali zbog nenamjernog ulaska" balona u američki zračni prostor, dodaje se.
Podsjetimo, sinoć je objavljeno kako američka vojska danima prati sumnjivi kineski špijunski balon koji lebdi iznad sjevernih saveznih država SAD-a.
Kako doznaje NBC, vojni dužnosnici su čak diskutirali i da ga obore s neba, ali čini se da takva odluka zasad još nije donesena.

- Američka vlada detektirala je sumnjivi špijunski balon koji i dalje lebdi na velikim visinama iznad kontinentalnog dijela SAD-a. Mi ga pažljivo pratimo, rekao je glasnogovornik Pentagona Pat Ryder.
Čim smo ga detektirali odmah smo reagirali i zaštitili sve osjetljive informacije, dodao je Ryder, a prenosi Jutarnji list.
Balon je prvi put primijećen u srijedu iznad mjesta Billings, Montana, a prije toga preletio je i kroz zračni prostor Kanade. Trenutno i dalje lebdi iznad SAD, ali vlasti nisu željele otkriti gdje se točno nalazi.
Zbog balona je sastanak održao i vojni vrh SAD-a na čelu s ministrom obrane Lloydom Austinom i načelnikom Združenog stožera, generalom Markom Milleyjem. Nije jasno je li sastanak bio uživo, ili se, vjerojatnije, radilo o video pozivu.
Na sastanku je raspravljano koliku prijetnju SAD-u balon predstavlja i kako na nju reagirati. U konačnici se ipak odlučilo da se ne ide u njegovo obaranje zbog mogućeg rizika za sigurnost civila na zemlji. Sve opcije su lideri Pentagona predstavili i predsjedniku Joeu Bidenu.
- Trenutno procjenjujemo da taj balon ima tek ograničenu dodatnu vrijednost iz perspektive prikupljanja obavještajnih podataka, ali unatoč tome poduzimamo korake za zaštitu od prikupljanja osjetljivih podataka stranih obavještajnih službi, rekao je jedan dužnosnik.
Kako NBC doznaje, u jednom trenutku su zbog balona u zrak dignuti i najbolji američki borbeni avioni, F-22 Raptori, ali balon ipak nisu srušili.
U svakom slučaju, Pentagon je uvjeren da je balon kineski te su već stupili u kontakt s Pekingom preko više kanala. Jesu li Kinezi priznali da je balon njihov, nije otkriveno.
- Ukazali smo im na ozbiljnost koju za nas ima to pitanje, rekao je neimenovani dužnosnik za NBC News.
Špijunski baloni iznad SAD-a letjeli su nekoliko puta posljednjih godina, ali čini se da se ovaj balon zadržava dulje nego u prethodnim slučajevima, rekao je dužnosnik.
Između Kine i SAD-a, dva najveća svjetska gospodarstva, u zadnje vrijeme rastu napetosti zbog sukoba oko Tajvana i kineskih vojnih aktivnosti u Južnom kineskom moru.

Kina je objavila kako je navodni špijunski balon primijećen iznad SAD-a ustvari "civilni zračni brod" koji se koristi uglavnom za praćenje vremena, a koji je skrenuo s kursa, javlja BBC.
U priopćenju je kinesko ministarstvo vanjskih poslova reklo da je balon korišten u "uglavnom meteorološke" svrhe.
Kina "žali zbog nenamjernog ulaska" balona u američki zračni prostor, dodaje se.
Podsjetimo, sinoć je objavljeno kako američka vojska danima prati sumnjivi kineski špijunski balon koji lebdi iznad sjevernih saveznih država SAD-a.
Kako doznaje NBC, vojni dužnosnici su čak diskutirali i da ga obore s neba, ali čini se da takva odluka zasad još nije donesena.

- Američka vlada detektirala je sumnjivi špijunski balon koji i dalje lebdi na velikim visinama iznad kontinentalnog dijela SAD-a. Mi ga pažljivo pratimo, rekao je glasnogovornik Pentagona Pat Ryder.
Čim smo ga detektirali odmah smo reagirali i zaštitili sve osjetljive informacije, dodao je Ryder, a prenosi Jutarnji list.
Balon je prvi put primijećen u srijedu iznad mjesta Billings, Montana, a prije toga preletio je i kroz zračni prostor Kanade. Trenutno i dalje lebdi iznad SAD, ali vlasti nisu željele otkriti gdje se točno nalazi.
Zbog balona je sastanak održao i vojni vrh SAD-a na čelu s ministrom obrane Lloydom Austinom i načelnikom Združenog stožera, generalom Markom Milleyjem. Nije jasno je li sastanak bio uživo, ili se, vjerojatnije, radilo o video pozivu.
Na sastanku je raspravljano koliku prijetnju SAD-u balon predstavlja i kako na nju reagirati. U konačnici se ipak odlučilo da se ne ide u njegovo obaranje zbog mogućeg rizika za sigurnost civila na zemlji. Sve opcije su lideri Pentagona predstavili i predsjedniku Joeu Bidenu.
- Trenutno procjenjujemo da taj balon ima tek ograničenu dodatnu vrijednost iz perspektive prikupljanja obavještajnih podataka, ali unatoč tome poduzimamo korake za zaštitu od prikupljanja osjetljivih podataka stranih obavještajnih službi, rekao je jedan dužnosnik.
Kako NBC doznaje, u jednom trenutku su zbog balona u zrak dignuti i najbolji američki borbeni avioni, F-22 Raptori, ali balon ipak nisu srušili.
U svakom slučaju, Pentagon je uvjeren da je balon kineski te su već stupili u kontakt s Pekingom preko više kanala. Jesu li Kinezi priznali da je balon njihov, nije otkriveno.
- Ukazali smo im na ozbiljnost koju za nas ima to pitanje, rekao je neimenovani dužnosnik za NBC News.
Špijunski baloni iznad SAD-a letjeli su nekoliko puta posljednjih godina, ali čini se da se ovaj balon zadržava dulje nego u prethodnim slučajevima, rekao je dužnosnik.
Između Kine i SAD-a, dva najveća svjetska gospodarstva, u zadnje vrijeme rastu napetosti zbog sukoba oko Tajvana i kineskih vojnih aktivnosti u Južnom kineskom moru.
