Ruska agresija na Ukrajinu izaziva tektonske pomake ne samo u geopolitici i ekonomiji, nego i u glavama ljudi. Što je do jučer bilo bijelo, sada je crno. Ilustracija tog trenda je radikalna promjena u javnoj percepciji donedavne njemačke kancelarke Angele Merkel.

Godinama su joj njemački i zapadni mediji tepali da je “Mutti” – majka Njemačke i čitave Europe – i proglašavali je “najmoćnijom ženom svijeta”, a sada je čereče zbog tobožnje naivnosti prema Putinu, odnosno da je dopustila da Njemačka bude ovisna o ruskim energentima. Premda je jedina alternativa za Njemačku isto takva ovisnost, samo znatno skuplja, o američkim energentima.

Od “spasiteljice slobodnog svijeta” Merkel je tako postala gotovo ključni krivac za stradanje Ukrajine, odmah iza Putina. Najdalje je u tome otišao američki list Politico, koji ju je u ponedjeljak optužio da je svojim “mekanim pristupom prema Rusiji” zapravo “potaknula” Putina na agresiju.

Politički naivna

”Njemačko tvrdoglavo inzistiranje na suradnji s ruskim čelnikom unatoč njegovoj kontinuiranoj agresiji (s čitavim popisom nedjela u rasponu od invazije na Gruziju do ubojstava neprijatelja u inozemstvu i ratnih zločina u Siriji) nije bilo ništa drugo nego katastrofalna greška koja će Angeli Merkel osigurati mjesto među političkim naivcima, zajedno s Nevilleom Chamberlainom”, piše Politico.

Dakle, Merkel se tu uspoređuje s bivšim britanskim premijerom koji je 1938. sramnim Münchenskim sporazumom Hitleru dao Čehoslovačku i time ga ohrabrio na daljnja osvajanja.

Američki list, međutim, previđa da je Merkel jednako “tvrdoglavo inzistirala na suradnji” i s američkim čelnicima Georgeom Bushom i Barackom Obamom, iako je ovaj prvi amenovao agresije na Afganistan i Irak, a potonji na Libiju i Siriju. No te Merkeličine suradnje Politico ne naziva “katastrofalnom greškom”.

Radi se o Merkeličinu dosljedno pragmatičnom stavu – suradnja s Rusijom i Amerikom je nužna, bez obzira na to što čelnici tih zemalja izvode agresije na suverene države. Ako nećete razgovarati s liderima SAD-a i Rusije, s kim ćete onda razgovarati?

Za Putinovu agresiju Politico okrivljuje ne samo bivšu kancelarku, nego i čitavu njemačku političku klasu, uključujući i aktualnog predsjednika države Frank-Waltera Steinmeiera, kojega optužuje da je 2016. kritizirao NATO-ove vojne vježbe u blizini ruske granice kao “zveckanje oružjem i ratno huškanje”, dok je istodobno tražio da energetska suradnja bude “most prema Rusiji”.

Odrastanje u DDR-u

Ovdje imamo klasičnu “zamjenu teza”: svaka će forenzička analiza pokazati da je baš NATO-ovo “zveckanje oružjem i ratno huškanje” – a ne energetska suradnja Berlina i Moskve – stvorilo kontekst u kojem je Kremlj mogao objaviti da je Rusija ugrožena od NATO-a i to propagandno iskoristiti kao izliku za agresiju na Ukrajinu.

Sada se čak sumnjiči Merkel da je prema autokratu iz Kremlja bila tako “mekana” zato što je odrasla u DDR-u, umjesto da se shvati kako je odrastanje u DDR-u bila njezina komparativna prednost u odnosima s Putinovom Rusijom, jer je imala osobni uvid u totalitarni sustav koji je formirao Putinov svjetonazor i karakter, te je mogla bolje razumjeti ono što zapadne službe, po vlastitom priznanju, nisu u stanju – psihologiju Kremlja i Putina osobno.

Upravo je odrastanje u istom sustavu bilo jedan od faktora koji su omogućili da se Merkel približi Putinu više nego ijedan drugi zapadni političar. Nije odmogla ni činjenica da oboje tečno govore jezik onog drugog, pa su mogli razgovarati bez prevoditelja. Zato je kancelarka mogla čuti ono što drugi nisu mogli.

Kad je 2007. u Münchenu Putin prvi put citirao zapadna obećanja o neširenju NATO-a na istok, i kad je objavio da Rusija neće dopustiti ulazak Ukrajine i Gruzije u NATO jer to ugrožava njezinu sigurnost – poručivši da će se Rusija, ako se taj problem ne adresira, sama pobrinuti za svoju sigurnost – nitko na Zapadu to nije pažljivo slušao ni ozbiljno čuo. Osim nje.

Jedino je frau Angela slušala i bila svjesna što čuje i kakve su moguće posljedice za Europu – potencijalno i za svijet – ako Putin jednog dana odluči da mu je dosta čekanja i krene vojno rješavati ono što Rusija smatra prekršenim obećanjima Zapada. Svojom razumnom politikom ona je odgađala taj dan, poklonivši Europi 15 godina mira i gospodarske suradnje s Rusijom.

I čim je otišla u penziju, taj dan je došao. To ne govori ništa o Angeli Merkel, ali govori o političkom diletantizmu onih koji nakon nje vode Europu. Za razliku od njih, ona je znala kako treba s Putinom i Rusijom.

Ruska agresija na Ukrajinu izaziva tektonske pomake ne samo u geopolitici i ekonomiji, nego i u glavama ljudi. Što je do jučer bilo bijelo, sada je crno. Ilustracija tog trenda je radikalna promjena u javnoj percepciji donedavne njemačke kancelarke Angele Merkel.

Godinama su joj njemački i zapadni mediji tepali da je “Mutti” – majka Njemačke i čitave Europe – i proglašavali je “najmoćnijom ženom svijeta”, a sada je čereče zbog tobožnje naivnosti prema Putinu, odnosno da je dopustila da Njemačka bude ovisna o ruskim energentima. Premda je jedina alternativa za Njemačku isto takva ovisnost, samo znatno skuplja, o američkim energentima.

Od “spasiteljice slobodnog svijeta” Merkel je tako postala gotovo ključni krivac za stradanje Ukrajine, odmah iza Putina. Najdalje je u tome otišao američki list Politico, koji ju je u ponedjeljak optužio da je svojim “mekanim pristupom prema Rusiji” zapravo “potaknula” Putina na agresiju.

Politički naivna

”Njemačko tvrdoglavo inzistiranje na suradnji s ruskim čelnikom unatoč njegovoj kontinuiranoj agresiji (s čitavim popisom nedjela u rasponu od invazije na Gruziju do ubojstava neprijatelja u inozemstvu i ratnih zločina u Siriji) nije bilo ništa drugo nego katastrofalna greška koja će Angeli Merkel osigurati mjesto među političkim naivcima, zajedno s Nevilleom Chamberlainom”, piše Politico.

Dakle, Merkel se tu uspoređuje s bivšim britanskim premijerom koji je 1938. sramnim Münchenskim sporazumom Hitleru dao Čehoslovačku i time ga ohrabrio na daljnja osvajanja.

Američki list, međutim, previđa da je Merkel jednako “tvrdoglavo inzistirala na suradnji” i s američkim čelnicima Georgeom Bushom i Barackom Obamom, iako je ovaj prvi amenovao agresije na Afganistan i Irak, a potonji na Libiju i Siriju. No te Merkeličine suradnje Politico ne naziva “katastrofalnom greškom”.

Radi se o Merkeličinu dosljedno pragmatičnom stavu – suradnja s Rusijom i Amerikom je nužna, bez obzira na to što čelnici tih zemalja izvode agresije na suverene države. Ako nećete razgovarati s liderima SAD-a i Rusije, s kim ćete onda razgovarati?

Za Putinovu agresiju Politico okrivljuje ne samo bivšu kancelarku, nego i čitavu njemačku političku klasu, uključujući i aktualnog predsjednika države Frank-Waltera Steinmeiera, kojega optužuje da je 2016. kritizirao NATO-ove vojne vježbe u blizini ruske granice kao “zveckanje oružjem i ratno huškanje”, dok je istodobno tražio da energetska suradnja bude “most prema Rusiji”.

Odrastanje u DDR-u

Ovdje imamo klasičnu “zamjenu teza”: svaka će forenzička analiza pokazati da je baš NATO-ovo “zveckanje oružjem i ratno huškanje” – a ne energetska suradnja Berlina i Moskve – stvorilo kontekst u kojem je Kremlj mogao objaviti da je Rusija ugrožena od NATO-a i to propagandno iskoristiti kao izliku za agresiju na Ukrajinu.

Sada se čak sumnjiči Merkel da je prema autokratu iz Kremlja bila tako “mekana” zato što je odrasla u DDR-u, umjesto da se shvati kako je odrastanje u DDR-u bila njezina komparativna prednost u odnosima s Putinovom Rusijom, jer je imala osobni uvid u totalitarni sustav koji je formirao Putinov svjetonazor i karakter, te je mogla bolje razumjeti ono što zapadne službe, po vlastitom priznanju, nisu u stanju – psihologiju Kremlja i Putina osobno.

Upravo je odrastanje u istom sustavu bilo jedan od faktora koji su omogućili da se Merkel približi Putinu više nego ijedan drugi zapadni političar. Nije odmogla ni činjenica da oboje tečno govore jezik onog drugog, pa su mogli razgovarati bez prevoditelja. Zato je kancelarka mogla čuti ono što drugi nisu mogli.

Kad je 2007. u Münchenu Putin prvi put citirao zapadna obećanja o neširenju NATO-a na istok, i kad je objavio da Rusija neće dopustiti ulazak Ukrajine i Gruzije u NATO jer to ugrožava njezinu sigurnost – poručivši da će se Rusija, ako se taj problem ne adresira, sama pobrinuti za svoju sigurnost – nitko na Zapadu to nije pažljivo slušao ni ozbiljno čuo. Osim nje.

Jedino je frau Angela slušala i bila svjesna što čuje i kakve su moguće posljedice za Europu – potencijalno i za svijet – ako Putin jednog dana odluči da mu je dosta čekanja i krene vojno rješavati ono što Rusija smatra prekršenim obećanjima Zapada. Svojom razumnom politikom ona je odgađala taj dan, poklonivši Europi 15 godina mira i gospodarske suradnje s Rusijom.

I čim je otišla u penziju, taj dan je došao. To ne govori ništa o Angeli Merkel, ali govori o političkom diletantizmu onih koji nakon nje vode Europu. Za razliku od njih, ona je znala kako treba s Putinom i Rusijom.
