Sjedinjene Države poslale su 17,5 milijardi dolara vojne pomoći Ukrajini, ali su i jako pojednostavile procedure za privatne trgovce oružjem, skrativši proces izdavanja dozvola s nekoliko tjedana na nekoliko sati.

U prva četiri mjeseca ove godine State Department je odobrio privatnim kompanijama izvoz više od 300 milijuna dolara vrijednog oružja u Ukrajinu, pokazuju dokumenti iz Washingtona. Prošle godine prodali su im oružja u vrijednosti od samo 15 milijuna dolara, piše New York Times.

Mnogi su iskoristili priliku za zaradu. U posao s trgovinom oružja ubacili su se jedan vozač i liječnica, kupili su oružje u Bugarskoj i neke granate iz Bosne, koje su preko Hrvatske planirali prevesti do Ukrajine, otkriva New York Times.

Liječnica je Heather Gjorgjievski (46), a Martin Zlatev (45) je u St. Louisu vodio tvrtku za proizvodnju limuzina dok se nije posvadio s partnerom. Nakon toga je osnovao tvrtku BMI. Nabavili su američke, bosanske i bugarske rakete, ručne bacače i streljivo. Njihova pošiljka trebala je prijeći granice sedam zemalja, pravno u sivoj zoni, kako bi se zaobišle zabrane izvoza oružja iz Bosne i Bugarske.

Zlatev, podrijetlom iz Bugarske, ušao je u posao s oružjem prošlog prosinca, dok su se ruske snage gomilale blizu ukrajinske granice. Osnovao je tvrtku BMI, poslije mu je partnerica postala dr. Gjorgjievski. U to je vrijeme Ukrajina intenzivno tražila oružje. Dogovor je bio jednostavan: nakon što bi ukrajinska vlada položila oko 25 milijuna dolara na račun tvrtke u Bank of America, BMI bi platio posredniku za 2,2 milijuna komada američkog vojnog streljiva i dopremio ga u Poljsku. Odatle bi ga vozači kamionima prevozili u Ukrajinu. BMI bi zasebno kupio 540 protutenkovskih raketnih bacača i 22 minobacača bosanskog proizvođača, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Planirali su prodati Ukrajini oružje vrijedno 30 milijuna dolara, pri čemu bi zaradili najmanje dva milijuna. No, omela ih je istraga NYT-a: dokumenti pokazuju da je posao bio u završnoj fazi, obje su strane pregledale i revidirale ugovor, ali kad su novinari pitali zašto se dogovor oslanja na krivotvorene dokumente kako bi se izbjegle bosanska i bugarska zabrana izvoza oružja, Amerikanci su ih obavijestili da je dogovor poništen.

To je oružje trebalo u konvoju kamiona proći kroz Hrvatsku, Sloveniju, Austriju, Slovačku i Poljsku do ukrajinske granice. Zlatev je također planirao poslati 900 raketa zrak - zemlja iz Bugarske, preko Poljske, u Ukrajinu.

Zabranu izvoza iz Bugarske i BiH BMI je planirao zaobići tako što je bosanskoj i bugarskoj vladi dostavio dokumente u kojima se navodi da će oružje završiti u Poljskoj.

Dogovor koji su onemogućili novinari NYT-a pokazuje da je rat u Ukrajini prilika za visoku zaradu trgovaca oružja. Zlatev je Ukrajincima planirao prodati streljivo po 50 posto većoj cijeni, bacači granata bili su više nego dvostruko skuplji od iznosa iz cjenika za mirovne snage UN-a. Kad rat završi, Ukrajina bi se mogla za idućih 30 godina pretvoriti u središte ilegalne trgovine oružjem, upozorava New York Times, baš kao što je to bila neposredno nakon hladnog rata.

Sjedinjene Države poslale su 17,5 milijardi dolara vojne pomoći Ukrajini, ali su i jako pojednostavile procedure za privatne trgovce oružjem, skrativši proces izdavanja dozvola s nekoliko tjedana na nekoliko sati.

U prva četiri mjeseca ove godine State Department je odobrio privatnim kompanijama izvoz više od 300 milijuna dolara vrijednog oružja u Ukrajinu, pokazuju dokumenti iz Washingtona. Prošle godine prodali su im oružja u vrijednosti od samo 15 milijuna dolara, piše New York Times.

Mnogi su iskoristili priliku za zaradu. U posao s trgovinom oružja ubacili su se jedan vozač i liječnica, kupili su oružje u Bugarskoj i neke granate iz Bosne, koje su preko Hrvatske planirali prevesti do Ukrajine, otkriva New York Times.

Liječnica je Heather Gjorgjievski (46), a Martin Zlatev (45) je u St. Louisu vodio tvrtku za proizvodnju limuzina dok se nije posvadio s partnerom. Nakon toga je osnovao tvrtku BMI. Nabavili su američke, bosanske i bugarske rakete, ručne bacače i streljivo. Njihova pošiljka trebala je prijeći granice sedam zemalja, pravno u sivoj zoni, kako bi se zaobišle zabrane izvoza oružja iz Bosne i Bugarske.

Zlatev, podrijetlom iz Bugarske, ušao je u posao s oružjem prošlog prosinca, dok su se ruske snage gomilale blizu ukrajinske granice. Osnovao je tvrtku BMI, poslije mu je partnerica postala dr. Gjorgjievski. U to je vrijeme Ukrajina intenzivno tražila oružje. Dogovor je bio jednostavan: nakon što bi ukrajinska vlada položila oko 25 milijuna dolara na račun tvrtke u Bank of America, BMI bi platio posredniku za 2,2 milijuna komada američkog vojnog streljiva i dopremio ga u Poljsku. Odatle bi ga vozači kamionima prevozili u Ukrajinu. BMI bi zasebno kupio 540 protutenkovskih raketnih bacača i 22 minobacača bosanskog proizvođača, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Planirali su prodati Ukrajini oružje vrijedno 30 milijuna dolara, pri čemu bi zaradili najmanje dva milijuna. No, omela ih je istraga NYT-a: dokumenti pokazuju da je posao bio u završnoj fazi, obje su strane pregledale i revidirale ugovor, ali kad su novinari pitali zašto se dogovor oslanja na krivotvorene dokumente kako bi se izbjegle bosanska i bugarska zabrana izvoza oružja, Amerikanci su ih obavijestili da je dogovor poništen.

To je oružje trebalo u konvoju kamiona proći kroz Hrvatsku, Sloveniju, Austriju, Slovačku i Poljsku do ukrajinske granice. Zlatev je također planirao poslati 900 raketa zrak - zemlja iz Bugarske, preko Poljske, u Ukrajinu.

Zabranu izvoza iz Bugarske i BiH BMI je planirao zaobići tako što je bosanskoj i bugarskoj vladi dostavio dokumente u kojima se navodi da će oružje završiti u Poljskoj.

Dogovor koji su onemogućili novinari NYT-a pokazuje da je rat u Ukrajini prilika za visoku zaradu trgovaca oružja. Zlatev je Ukrajincima planirao prodati streljivo po 50 posto većoj cijeni, bacači granata bili su više nego dvostruko skuplji od iznosa iz cjenika za mirovne snage UN-a. Kad rat završi, Ukrajina bi se mogla za idućih 30 godina pretvoriti u središte ilegalne trgovine oružjem, upozorava New York Times, baš kao što je to bila neposredno nakon hladnog rata.
