Europa je suočena s najgorom sušom u posljednjih najmanje 500 godina.

Dvije trećine kontinenta je u stanju uzbune ili su izdana posebna upozorenja, plovidba rijekama je značajno smanjena, kao i proizvodnja električne energije iz hidroelektrana i prinosi određenih usjeva, objavila je u utorak agencija Europske unije, piše Reuters a prenosi Jutarnji.

Izvješće iz kolovoza Europskog opservatorija za sušu (European Drought Observatory - EDO), koje nadzire Europska komisija, kaže da je za 47 posto Europe izdana neka vrsta upozorenja zbog jasnog nedostatka vlage u tlu, a 17 posto je u stanju pripravnosti jer je pogođena vegetacija.

‘Ozbiljna suša koja je pogodila mnoge regije Europe od početka godine, dodatno se širi i pogoršava od početka kolovoza‘, navodi se u izvješću. Također se navodi da će zapadnoeuropsko i mediteransko područje vjerojatno imati toplije i sušnije uvjete od normalnih sve do studenog.

Tjedni visokih temperatura

Velik dio Europe suočio se ovoga ljeta s tjednima visokih temperatura, što je pogoršalo sušu, uzrokovalo šumske požare, rezultiralo zdravstvenim upozorenjima i potaknulo pozive za dodatnim djelovanjem u borbi protiv klimatskih promjena.

Čini se da je trenutna suša najgora u najmanje 500 godina, pod pretpostavkom da konačni podaci na kraju sezone potvrde preliminarnu procjenu, stoji u priopćenju Komisije.

Ljetni usjevi su pretrpjeli veliku štetu, s prinosima kukuruza za zrno koji će ove godine biti 16 posto ispod petogodišnjeg prosjeka, a prinosi soje i suncokreta mogli bi pasti za 15, odnosno 12 posto.

Hidroenergetika je također pogođena, što utječe na druge proizvođače energije zbog nedostatka vode za napajanje rashladnih sustava.

Niski vodostaji otežali su plovidbu rijekama poput Rajne, pri čemu su smanjeni brodski tereti utjecali na transport ugljena i nafte.

EDO je rekao da su kiše sredinom kolovoza možda ublažile sušne uvjete, ali u nekim slučajevima dolazile su u kombinaciji s olujama koje su uzrokovale dodatnu štetu.

Indikator suše opservatorija izveden je iz mjerenja padalina, vlage u tlu i udjela sunčevog zračenja koje biljke apsorbiraju za fotosintezu.

Europa je suočena s najgorom sušom u posljednjih najmanje 500 godina.

Dvije trećine kontinenta je u stanju uzbune ili su izdana posebna upozorenja, plovidba rijekama je značajno smanjena, kao i proizvodnja električne energije iz hidroelektrana i prinosi određenih usjeva, objavila je u utorak agencija Europske unije, piše Reuters a prenosi Jutarnji.

Izvješće iz kolovoza Europskog opservatorija za sušu (European Drought Observatory - EDO), koje nadzire Europska komisija, kaže da je za 47 posto Europe izdana neka vrsta upozorenja zbog jasnog nedostatka vlage u tlu, a 17 posto je u stanju pripravnosti jer je pogođena vegetacija.

‘Ozbiljna suša koja je pogodila mnoge regije Europe od početka godine, dodatno se širi i pogoršava od početka kolovoza‘, navodi se u izvješću. Također se navodi da će zapadnoeuropsko i mediteransko područje vjerojatno imati toplije i sušnije uvjete od normalnih sve do studenog.

Tjedni visokih temperatura

Velik dio Europe suočio se ovoga ljeta s tjednima visokih temperatura, što je pogoršalo sušu, uzrokovalo šumske požare, rezultiralo zdravstvenim upozorenjima i potaknulo pozive za dodatnim djelovanjem u borbi protiv klimatskih promjena.

Čini se da je trenutna suša najgora u najmanje 500 godina, pod pretpostavkom da konačni podaci na kraju sezone potvrde preliminarnu procjenu, stoji u priopćenju Komisije.

Ljetni usjevi su pretrpjeli veliku štetu, s prinosima kukuruza za zrno koji će ove godine biti 16 posto ispod petogodišnjeg prosjeka, a prinosi soje i suncokreta mogli bi pasti za 15, odnosno 12 posto.

Hidroenergetika je također pogođena, što utječe na druge proizvođače energije zbog nedostatka vode za napajanje rashladnih sustava.

Niski vodostaji otežali su plovidbu rijekama poput Rajne, pri čemu su smanjeni brodski tereti utjecali na transport ugljena i nafte.

EDO je rekao da su kiše sredinom kolovoza možda ublažile sušne uvjete, ali u nekim slučajevima dolazile su u kombinaciji s olujama koje su uzrokovale dodatnu štetu.

Indikator suše opservatorija izveden je iz mjerenja padalina, vlage u tlu i udjela sunčevog zračenja koje biljke apsorbiraju za fotosintezu.
