O zločinu u Šahovićima oni koji su se školovali u vrijeme Jugoslavije nisu učili na satovima povijesti, premda je 1973. godine o tom strašnom masakru provedena interna istraga. Vremešni svjedoci osvete Crnogoraca i Srba nad muslimanskim stanovništvom u Sandžaku, redom starci od oko osamdeset i devedeset godina, svjedočili su narodnom heroju i generalu JNA Danilu Jaukoviću o svirepim ubojstvima, pljački i paležu kuća u mjestu Šahović, koji su se dogodili 9. i 10. studenoga 1924. godine.

Dakle, u mirnodopsko vrijeme muslimani iz crnogorskog dijela Sandžaka stradali su od svojih susjeda kršćana, a broj ubijenih civila do dana današnjeg nije utvrđen. Spominju se brojke od 350 do više od tisuću ubijenih ljudi, a zločin se pripisuje Kolašinskom bratstvu. Nakon ovog strašnog zločina došlo je do pravog egzodusa muslimana iz bjelopoljskog kraja, ali i šireg područja Sandžaka, uglavnom u Tursku, te dijelom u BiH. 

Povod neviđenom masakru o kojem se tek posljednjih desetljeća javno govori bilo je ubojstvo Boška Boškovića, načelnika Kolašinskog okruga. Bošković je bio zagovornik bezuvjetnog prisjedinjenja Crne Gore Srbiji, pa se njegova likvidacija pripisala "zelenašima" koji su ga ubili iz zasjede. Za ubojstvo Boškovića lažno je bio optužen komita Jusuf Mehonjić, koji se tada uopće nije ni nalazio na tom području. No, u uzavreloj atmosferi na pokopu Boškovića,  sumnja je pala i na muslimane. Zato je naređeno da se razoruža stanovništvo Šahovića i Pavinog Polja.

Đilasovo svjedočanstvo

Tako je goloruki narod ostavljen na milost i nemilost osvetnicima, a dvije tisuće naoružanih muškaraca iz Kolašina i Bijelog Polja napalo je civile, počinilo monstruozna ubojstva kojih ni djeca nisu bila pošteđena, brojna silovanja i paljenja kuća, što je dovelo do gotovo potpunog zatiranja muslimanskog stanovništva u Šahovićima i obližnjim mjestima.

Poznati jugoslavenski disident Milovan Đilas u knjizi "Zemlja bez pravde" opisuje masakr nad muslimanima Sandžaka, u kojem je sudjelovao njegov otac Nikola. Citiramo: "Takvog osvetničkog pohoda nije nikada bilo. Čovjek nije mogao ni slutiti da je tako nešto moglo biti sakriveno u takozvanoj narodnoj duši. Pljačka iz 1918. godine bila je prema ovome nevina dječja igra. Većina ovih križara stidjela se kasnije svojih djela. Ali oni su ih učinili. Također i moj otac, koji nije imao osobitih svirepih naklonosti, u najmanju ruku ne više od svih drugih Crnogoraca. Nikada poslije nije htio o ovome razgovarati. Žalio je što je sudjelovao u ovoj akciji, kao jedan pijanac koji počini zločin i kasnije se otrijezni.

Žandari maloga grada preko Tare, kao i većina činovnika općine, bili su uglavnom Crnogorci i činili su ono što je rulja od njih tražila. U Šahovićima su te vlasti dale obavještenja da će jedna grupa muslimana, koji su kao taoci pritvoreni, biti sprovedena u Bijelo Polje. Crnogorci su ovu kolonu taoca sačekali kraj groblja i masakrirali ih, i tom prilikom je poubijano više od pedeset istaknutih muslimana. Sličan prepad trebao je biti izvršen i prema muslimanima Bijelog Polja, inače miroljubivim i marljivim ljudima. Njih su također kao taoce, pod stražom, trebali transportirati preko Šahovića. U zadnji trenutak ovo je spriječio jedan srpski oficir jugoslavenske vojske.

Doselili se Crnogorci

Uništenje muslimanskih naselja i življa uzelo je takve mjere da je morala intervenirati vojska, jer je žandarmerija bila pasivna i nepouzdana. Ovi događaji su se pretvorili u malom u pravi vjerski rat, pri čemu je samo jedna strana bila ubijana… Oko trista pedeset osoba bilo je na bestijalni način ubijeno. Kod ove utrke za ubojstvom došlo je do silovanja žena, jednog zločina koji je do tada kod Crnogoraca važio kao nedopustiva sramota…

Čim je došlo do intervencije vojske, rulja je uvidjela ozbiljnost situacije i povukla se. Ali potom opustiše muslimanska naselja. Muslimani prodadoše svoje posjede za bagatelu i odseliše se u Tursku, a doseliše Crnogorci".

Šahovići danas ne postoje. Mjesto je preimenovano u Tomaševo, a nalazi se kod Bijelog Polja u Crnoj Gori. Porazna je činjenica da o ovom strašnom zločinu, koji se dogodio za vrijeme vladavine dinastije Karađorđević, nije javno progovoreno ni u Titovo doba. Đilasova knjiga jest objavljena 1958. godine, ali u inozemstvu. Ugledni crnogorski povjesničar Šerbo Rastoder, u knjizi "Šahovići 1924 – Kad su vakat kaljali insani" (2011.), navodi da je na području na kojem je izvršen pokolj prema popisu iz 1921. živjelo 2755 muslimana, 1559 u Pavinom Polju i 1195 u Šahovićima, a poslije masakra ostalo je tek nekoliko muslimanskih obitelji od kojih je dio prešao u pravoslavlje. Ne ponovilo se.

O zločinu u Šahovićima oni koji su se školovali u vrijeme Jugoslavije nisu učili na satovima povijesti, premda je 1973. godine o tom strašnom masakru provedena interna istraga. Vremešni svjedoci osvete Crnogoraca i Srba nad muslimanskim stanovništvom u Sandžaku, redom starci od oko osamdeset i devedeset godina, svjedočili su narodnom heroju i generalu JNA Danilu Jaukoviću o svirepim ubojstvima, pljački i paležu kuća u mjestu Šahović, koji su se dogodili 9. i 10. studenoga 1924. godine.

Dakle, u mirnodopsko vrijeme muslimani iz crnogorskog dijela Sandžaka stradali su od svojih susjeda kršćana, a broj ubijenih civila do dana današnjeg nije utvrđen. Spominju se brojke od 350 do više od tisuću ubijenih ljudi, a zločin se pripisuje Kolašinskom bratstvu. Nakon ovog strašnog zločina došlo je do pravog egzodusa muslimana iz bjelopoljskog kraja, ali i šireg područja Sandžaka, uglavnom u Tursku, te dijelom u BiH. 

Povod neviđenom masakru o kojem se tek posljednjih desetljeća javno govori bilo je ubojstvo Boška Boškovića, načelnika Kolašinskog okruga. Bošković je bio zagovornik bezuvjetnog prisjedinjenja Crne Gore Srbiji, pa se njegova likvidacija pripisala "zelenašima" koji su ga ubili iz zasjede. Za ubojstvo Boškovića lažno je bio optužen komita Jusuf Mehonjić, koji se tada uopće nije ni nalazio na tom području. No, u uzavreloj atmosferi na pokopu Boškovića,  sumnja je pala i na muslimane. Zato je naređeno da se razoruža stanovništvo Šahovića i Pavinog Polja.

Đilasovo svjedočanstvo

Tako je goloruki narod ostavljen na milost i nemilost osvetnicima, a dvije tisuće naoružanih muškaraca iz Kolašina i Bijelog Polja napalo je civile, počinilo monstruozna ubojstva kojih ni djeca nisu bila pošteđena, brojna silovanja i paljenja kuća, što je dovelo do gotovo potpunog zatiranja muslimanskog stanovništva u Šahovićima i obližnjim mjestima.

Poznati jugoslavenski disident Milovan Đilas u knjizi "Zemlja bez pravde" opisuje masakr nad muslimanima Sandžaka, u kojem je sudjelovao njegov otac Nikola. Citiramo: "Takvog osvetničkog pohoda nije nikada bilo. Čovjek nije mogao ni slutiti da je tako nešto moglo biti sakriveno u takozvanoj narodnoj duši. Pljačka iz 1918. godine bila je prema ovome nevina dječja igra. Većina ovih križara stidjela se kasnije svojih djela. Ali oni su ih učinili. Također i moj otac, koji nije imao osobitih svirepih naklonosti, u najmanju ruku ne više od svih drugih Crnogoraca. Nikada poslije nije htio o ovome razgovarati. Žalio je što je sudjelovao u ovoj akciji, kao jedan pijanac koji počini zločin i kasnije se otrijezni.

Žandari maloga grada preko Tare, kao i većina činovnika općine, bili su uglavnom Crnogorci i činili su ono što je rulja od njih tražila. U Šahovićima su te vlasti dale obavještenja da će jedna grupa muslimana, koji su kao taoci pritvoreni, biti sprovedena u Bijelo Polje. Crnogorci su ovu kolonu taoca sačekali kraj groblja i masakrirali ih, i tom prilikom je poubijano više od pedeset istaknutih muslimana. Sličan prepad trebao je biti izvršen i prema muslimanima Bijelog Polja, inače miroljubivim i marljivim ljudima. Njih su također kao taoce, pod stražom, trebali transportirati preko Šahovića. U zadnji trenutak ovo je spriječio jedan srpski oficir jugoslavenske vojske.

Doselili se Crnogorci

Uništenje muslimanskih naselja i življa uzelo je takve mjere da je morala intervenirati vojska, jer je žandarmerija bila pasivna i nepouzdana. Ovi događaji su se pretvorili u malom u pravi vjerski rat, pri čemu je samo jedna strana bila ubijana… Oko trista pedeset osoba bilo je na bestijalni način ubijeno. Kod ove utrke za ubojstvom došlo je do silovanja žena, jednog zločina koji je do tada kod Crnogoraca važio kao nedopustiva sramota…

Čim je došlo do intervencije vojske, rulja je uvidjela ozbiljnost situacije i povukla se. Ali potom opustiše muslimanska naselja. Muslimani prodadoše svoje posjede za bagatelu i odseliše se u Tursku, a doseliše Crnogorci".

Šahovići danas ne postoje. Mjesto je preimenovano u Tomaševo, a nalazi se kod Bijelog Polja u Crnoj Gori. Porazna je činjenica da o ovom strašnom zločinu, koji se dogodio za vrijeme vladavine dinastije Karađorđević, nije javno progovoreno ni u Titovo doba. Đilasova knjiga jest objavljena 1958. godine, ali u inozemstvu. Ugledni crnogorski povjesničar Šerbo Rastoder, u knjizi "Šahovići 1924 – Kad su vakat kaljali insani" (2011.), navodi da je na području na kojem je izvršen pokolj prema popisu iz 1921. živjelo 2755 muslimana, 1559 u Pavinom Polju i 1195 u Šahovićima, a poslije masakra ostalo je tek nekoliko muslimanskih obitelji od kojih je dio prešao u pravoslavlje. Ne ponovilo se.
