Ako ste na svježe opranim prozorima jutros ugledali žućkaste mrlje ili vas je pri polasku na posao dočekao prljav automobil - ne paničarite.
Na pojedine dijelove Europe, uključujući Hrvatsku i susjedne zemlje, u srijedu ujutro pala je prljava, odnosno obojena, kiša obogaćena pijeskom koji je do Balkanskog poluotoka stigao iz Sahare.
- Ova pojava se javlja jednom do tri puta godišnje u proljeće ili jesen, kad su južna strujanja iz sjeverne Afrike jaka, a ciklogeneza intezivna nad Mediteranom. To je dobitna kombinacija za pojavu obojenih padalina - objasnio je za BBC srpski profesor Vladan Ducić s Geografskog fakulteta u Beogradu.
Na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije, dodaje profesor, ova kiša žute boje, koja se još naziva i blatnjavom kišom, prvi put je službeno registrirana na meteorološkim postajama u svibnju 1933. godine.
Pijesak iz Sahare do Srbije stiže pomoću vjetrova, oblaka i naposljetku kiše, ali da bi se to dogodilo, treba se poklopiti nekoliko faktora.

Sve počinje na sjeveru Afrike, blizu Sredozemnog mora, pojavom dugotrajnih i intenzivnih vjetrova, dovoljno snažnih da podignu veliku količinu prašine i sitnog pijeska u više slojeve atmosfere.
Čestice prašine i pijeska zatim se visinskim strujanjima prenose prema ciklonu, polju niskog tlaka zraka, koji se uglavnom nalazi u Mediteranu, a potom i ka Balkanskom poluotoku.
- Nama taj pijesak stiže na nekoliko kilometara visine, obično pri jakom jugozapadnom i južnom strujanju - objašnjava Ducić.
Automobil posle blatnjave kiše
Prije nego što se izluči u vidu prljave ili blatne kiše, zračne mase koje nose saharski pijesak ulaze u oblačni sustav.
- Taj pijesak služi kao jezgra kondenzacije za kišnu kap i onda zajedno s njom pada na tlo i boji površinu - ističe profesor.
Međutim, obojene padaline ne nastaju cijelo vrijeme, već uglavnom to bude na početku, dok ih kasnije zamijeni obična kiša koja spere ostatke, pa se tako često ni ne primijeti ništa neuobičajeno.
Nakon kratkog pljuska pak na površini tla, automobila ili drugih objekata ostaje žuti ili crveni talog.
Ducić kaže da ovakve kiše, prvenstveno zbog kemijskog sastava pijeska - silicijev dioksid, "ne bi trebala ostavljati nikakve posljedice".
Pri jakim južnim strujanjima dolazi do povećanja ovih čestica u zraku, što, dodaje, "eventualno može smetati astmatičarima". Ali to su, kaže, "ekstremne situacije".
Ovakve su pojave, osim na Balkanu, zabilježene diljem Sredozemlja i u različitim dijelovima zapadne Europe.
Osim žute kiše, u ovim krajevima padao je i crveni, odnosno "krvavi" snijeg.
- Tu postoji jasno prirodno objašnjenje - radi se o pijesku i zemlji koja vuče na oker boju. Radio se o rijetkoj prirodnoj pojavi za koju nema nikakvog natprirodnog objašnjenja - pojašnjava Ducić za BBC.

Ako ste na svježe opranim prozorima jutros ugledali žućkaste mrlje ili vas je pri polasku na posao dočekao prljav automobil - ne paničarite.

- Ova pojava se javlja jednom do tri puta godišnje u proljeće ili jesen, kad su južna strujanja iz sjeverne Afrike jaka, a ciklogeneza intezivna nad Mediteranom. To je dobitna kombinacija za pojavu obojenih padalina - objasnio je za BBC srpski profesor Vladan Ducić s Geografskog fakulteta u Beogradu.
Na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije, dodaje profesor, ova kiša žute boje, koja se još naziva i blatnjavom kišom, prvi put je službeno registrirana na meteorološkim postajama u svibnju 1933. godine.
Pijesak iz Sahare do Srbije stiže pomoću vjetrova, oblaka i naposljetku kiše, ali da bi se to dogodilo, treba se poklopiti nekoliko faktora.

Sve počinje na sjeveru Afrike, blizu Sredozemnog mora, pojavom dugotrajnih i intenzivnih vjetrova, dovoljno snažnih da podignu veliku količinu prašine i sitnog pijeska u više slojeve atmosfere.
Čestice prašine i pijeska zatim se visinskim strujanjima prenose prema ciklonu, polju niskog tlaka zraka, koji se uglavnom nalazi u Mediteranu, a potom i ka Balkanskom poluotoku.
- Nama taj pijesak stiže na nekoliko kilometara visine, obično pri jakom jugozapadnom i južnom strujanju - objašnjava Ducić.
Automobil posle blatnjave kiše
Prije nego što se izluči u vidu prljave ili blatne kiše, zračne mase koje nose saharski pijesak ulaze u oblačni sustav.
- Taj pijesak služi kao jezgra kondenzacije za kišnu kap i onda zajedno s njom pada na tlo i boji površinu - ističe profesor.
Međutim, obojene padaline ne nastaju cijelo vrijeme, već uglavnom to bude na početku, dok ih kasnije zamijeni obična kiša koja spere ostatke, pa se tako često ni ne primijeti ništa neuobičajeno.
Nakon kratkog pljuska pak na površini tla, automobila ili drugih objekata ostaje žuti ili crveni talog.
Ducić kaže da ovakve kiše, prvenstveno zbog kemijskog sastava pijeska - silicijev dioksid, "ne bi trebala ostavljati nikakve posljedice".
Pri jakim južnim strujanjima dolazi do povećanja ovih čestica u zraku, što, dodaje, "eventualno može smetati astmatičarima". Ali to su, kaže, "ekstremne situacije".
Ovakve su pojave, osim na Balkanu, zabilježene diljem Sredozemlja i u različitim dijelovima zapadne Europe.
Osim žute kiše, u ovim krajevima padao je i crveni, odnosno "krvavi" snijeg.
- Tu postoji jasno prirodno objašnjenje - radi se o pijesku i zemlji koja vuče na oker boju. Radio se o rijetkoj prirodnoj pojavi za koju nema nikakvog natprirodnog objašnjenja - pojašnjava Ducić za BBC.
