Helikopteri OH-58D Kiowa Warrior u sastavu su HRZ-a od 2016. godine. Riječ je o američkim izvidničkim helikopterima koji su u sastavu Eskadrile helikoptera 93. zrakoplovne baze HRZ i PZO-a, a koji su stigli u Hrvatsko ratno zrakoplovstvo putem projekta opremanja Oružanih snaga RH izvidničko-borbenim helikopterima kroz potporu Vlade i Oružanih snaga Sjedinjenih Američkih Država.

Projekt je to koji je obuhvaćao ukupno 16 helikoptera i opremu koji su proizvedeni u razdoblju od 2010. do 2012., a u operativnu upotrebu uvedeni su između 2012. i 2015., od kojih je prvih pet helikoptera u 93. zrakoplovnu bazu dopremljeno krajem srpnja 2016. godine.

Helikopter Kiowa, koji je dobio ime po plemenu prerijskih Indijanaca, jednomotorni je četverokraki laki naoružani izvidnički helikopter s dvočlanom posadom.

Njegova je primarna namjena borbeno izviđanje, a može provoditi i združene napadne operacije iz zraka, zadaće platforme zapovijedanja i nadzora, identifikaciju i označavanje ciljeva na zemlji, protuoklopnu borbu, danju i noću, u uvjetima visokih temperatura i u složenim meteorološkim uvjetima.

Prvi prototip OH-58D Kiowa, s dodatkom u imenu Warrior (ratnik), poletio je 6. studenog 1983., a u operativnu uporabu ušao za dvije godine.

Osim raketnim, Kiowa Warrior može se naoružati i konfiguracijom podvjesnog strojničkog naoružanja, i to strojnicama kalibra 7,62 milimetara ili 12,7 milimetara, čime je postignuta visokoučinkovita zračna platforma za napade na zemaljske ciljeva koja može djelovati u sprezi s mnogim borbenim sustavima.

Hrvatske Kiowe imaju ugrađenu zemaljsku stanicu za prijenos podataka, videorekorder s mogućnošću snimanja do dva sata prikaza s pilotskog višenamjenskog pokazivača te ADSS sustav za prikaz letnih podataka izravno na naočale za noćno gledanje.

Pored toga, oprema uključuje senzor za termoviziju, televizijski senzor za nisku razinu osvjetljenja (LLTV), laserski daljinomjer te označivač ciljeva i sustav za optičko upucavanje strojnice.

Komunikacijski paket sadrži dvije radio stanice za sigurnu glasovnu i podatkovnu komunikaciju sa zaštitom od ometanja te dva uređaja TSEC/KY-58 za sigurnu, kriptiranu glasovnu komunikaciju, ali i sustav za digitalno komuniciranje i predaju podataka o cilju drugim korisnicima.

Ovaj tip helikoptera više puta se dokazao u izravnoj borbi pa su ga tako američke snage angažirale su inačice OH-58D u operacijama Iraqi Freedom u Iraku i Enduring Freedom u Afganistanu s ukupno 840.000 sati naleta s učinkovitosti izvršenja zadaća od 90 posto.

Inačice OH-58 nalaze se i u sastavu oružanih snaga Austrije, Saudijske Arabije, Dominikanske Republike, Tajvana i Turske, a koristila ga je i australska te kanadska vojska.

Helikopteri OH-58D Kiowa Warrior u sastavu su HRZ-a od 2016. godine. Riječ je o američkim izvidničkim helikopterima koji su u sastavu Eskadrile helikoptera 93. zrakoplovne baze HRZ i PZO-a, a koji su stigli u Hrvatsko ratno zrakoplovstvo putem projekta opremanja Oružanih snaga RH izvidničko-borbenim helikopterima kroz potporu Vlade i Oružanih snaga Sjedinjenih Američkih Država.

Projekt je to koji je obuhvaćao ukupno 16 helikoptera i opremu koji su proizvedeni u razdoblju od 2010. do 2012., a u operativnu upotrebu uvedeni su između 2012. i 2015., od kojih je prvih pet helikoptera u 93. zrakoplovnu bazu dopremljeno krajem srpnja 2016. godine.

Helikopter Kiowa, koji je dobio ime po plemenu prerijskih Indijanaca, jednomotorni je četverokraki laki naoružani izvidnički helikopter s dvočlanom posadom.

Njegova je primarna namjena borbeno izviđanje, a može provoditi i združene napadne operacije iz zraka, zadaće platforme zapovijedanja i nadzora, identifikaciju i označavanje ciljeva na zemlji, protuoklopnu borbu, danju i noću, u uvjetima visokih temperatura i u složenim meteorološkim uvjetima.

Prvi prototip OH-58D Kiowa, s dodatkom u imenu Warrior (ratnik), poletio je 6. studenog 1983., a u operativnu uporabu ušao za dvije godine.

Osim raketnim, Kiowa Warrior može se naoružati i konfiguracijom podvjesnog strojničkog naoružanja, i to strojnicama kalibra 7,62 milimetara ili 12,7 milimetara, čime je postignuta visokoučinkovita zračna platforma za napade na zemaljske ciljeva koja može djelovati u sprezi s mnogim borbenim sustavima.

Hrvatske Kiowe imaju ugrađenu zemaljsku stanicu za prijenos podataka, videorekorder s mogućnošću snimanja do dva sata prikaza s pilotskog višenamjenskog pokazivača te ADSS sustav za prikaz letnih podataka izravno na naočale za noćno gledanje.

Pored toga, oprema uključuje senzor za termoviziju, televizijski senzor za nisku razinu osvjetljenja (LLTV), laserski daljinomjer te označivač ciljeva i sustav za optičko upucavanje strojnice.

Komunikacijski paket sadrži dvije radio stanice za sigurnu glasovnu i podatkovnu komunikaciju sa zaštitom od ometanja te dva uređaja TSEC/KY-58 za sigurnu, kriptiranu glasovnu komunikaciju, ali i sustav za digitalno komuniciranje i predaju podataka o cilju drugim korisnicima.

Ovaj tip helikoptera više puta se dokazao u izravnoj borbi pa su ga tako američke snage angažirale su inačice OH-58D u operacijama Iraqi Freedom u Iraku i Enduring Freedom u Afganistanu s ukupno 840.000 sati naleta s učinkovitosti izvršenja zadaća od 90 posto.

Inačice OH-58 nalaze se i u sastavu oružanih snaga Austrije, Saudijske Arabije, Dominikanske Republike, Tajvana i Turske, a koristila ga je i australska te kanadska vojska.

Helikopteri OH-58D Kiowa Warrior u sastavu su HRZ-a od 2016. godine. Riječ je o američkim izvidničkim helikopterima koji su u sastavu Eskadrile helikoptera 93. zrakoplovne baze HRZ i PZO-a, a koji su stigli u Hrvatsko ratno zrakoplovstvo putem projekta opremanja Oružanih snaga RH izvidničko-borbenim helikopterima kroz potporu Vlade i Oružanih snaga Sjedinjenih Američkih Država.

Projekt je to koji je obuhvaćao ukupno 16 helikoptera i opremu koji su proizvedeni u razdoblju od 2010. do 2012., a u operativnu upotrebu uvedeni su između 2012. i 2015., od kojih je prvih pet helikoptera u 93. zrakoplovnu bazu dopremljeno krajem srpnja 2016. godine.
