Tim liječnika i znanstvenika Specijalne bolnice Sv. Katarina (prof. dr. sc. Dragan Primorac, dr. Petar Brlek, dr. Eduard Stjepan Pavelić, doc. dr. sc. Andrea Skelin), u suradnji s kolegama iz Kliničke bolnice Dubrava (prof. dr. sc. Šime Manola, dr. sc. Nikola Pavlović i dr.sc. Jasmina Ćatić) i jednim od vodećih svjetskih kardiologa, profesorom Josepom Brugadom (po kojemu je Brugada sindrom i nazvan), upravo je objavio rezultate novog koncepta prevencije iznenadne srčane smrti.

Rad pod nazivom "Case report: State-of-the-art risk-modifying treatment of sudden cardiac death in an asymptomatic patient with a mutation in the SCN5A gene and a review of the literature", objavljen je u uglednom kardiološkom časopisu "Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine", jednom od najprestižnijih u polju kardiologije i kardiovaskularne medicine (u prvoj kvartili najboljih časopisa u tom području), piše Jutarnji list.

Velik broj iznenadnih smrti u ranoj životnoj dobi, u obitelji pacijenta kao i postojećih kardioloških problema, potaknuo je liječnike da provedu detaljnu genetičku analizu i utvrde postojanje mutacija na genima povezanim s pojavnošću iznenadne srčane smrti. U radu se analiziraju 294 gena povezanih sa stanjima koja mogu dovesti do iznenadne srčane smrti, uključujući i Brugada sindrom te ostale klinički relevantne analize kao i ugradnja implantacijskog kardioverter-defibrilatora.

suradnja s Hrvatskim nogometnim savezom

U radu se predlaže novi integrirani koncept dijagnostike i liječenja koji se temelji na načelima personalizirane medicine, i uključuje sekvenciranje sljedeće generacije te kao posljedično liječenje nakon otkrića postojanja patogene varijante unutar SCN5A gena (svojstvene Brugada sindromu) liječenje pacijenata ugradnjom kardioverter-defibrilatora (ICD), koji se aktivira u slučaj nastanka maligne aritmije, a trenutačno najnaprednijoj metodi liječenja za pacijente s visokim rizikom za iznenadnu srčanu smrt.

Samo u sportu u zadnjih 30 godina prema dostupnoj znanstvenoj literaturi oko 2.400 sportaša umrlo je od iznenadne srčane smrti. Ovaj rad pokazuje veliki napredak u personaliziranom pristupu liječenja u kardiologiji, a važno je istaknuti višegodišnju iznimno uspješnu suradnju hrvatskih liječnika Specijalne bolnice Sv. Katarina i KB Dubrava, s jednim od vodećih svjetskih kardiologa profesorom Josepom Brugadom, a sve kako bi se pružila najbolja moguća briga i prevencija za zdravlje pacijenata.

Na važnost prevencije iznenadne srčane smrti analizirajući ključne gene i patogene mutacije povezane s ovim stanjem, upozorio je još 2021. godine prof.dr. Dragan Primorac kad je s Hrvatskim nogometnim savezom predložio model pod nazivom "Hrvatski model prevencije iznenadne srčane smrti u sportaša analizom ciljanih gena i pripadajućih mutacija povezanim sa stanjima koja mogu dovesti do iznenadne srčane smrti sportaša".

Izjava pacijenta

"Oduvijek sam se pitao kako mlada osoba, kao što je bio moj otac, može doživjeti iznenadnu srčanu smrt s 36 godina. Kada sam saznao da sam pozitivan na patološku varijantu gena SCN5A odlučio sam se na ugradnju defibrilatora. Informacija o mom pozitivnom testu na patogenu varijantu gena SCN5A ključna je za moju budućnost i planiranje obitelji, budući da sam sada svjestan potencijalnih rizika. Nakon ugradnje defibrilatora, ja se i dalje bavim sportom, trčim i igram nogomet, košarku, redovito treniram. Napokon mogu voditi normalan život. Smatram da svojim primjerom mogu utjecati i na druge ljude i pomoći da se time spasi puno života", piše Jutarnji list.

Tim liječnika i znanstvenika Specijalne bolnice Sv. Katarina (prof. dr. sc. Dragan Primorac, dr. Petar Brlek, dr. Eduard Stjepan Pavelić, doc. dr. sc. Andrea Skelin), u suradnji s kolegama iz Kliničke bolnice Dubrava (prof. dr. sc. Šime Manola, dr. sc. Nikola Pavlović i dr.sc. Jasmina Ćatić) i jednim od vodećih svjetskih kardiologa, profesorom Josepom Brugadom (po kojemu je Brugada sindrom i nazvan), upravo je objavio rezultate novog koncepta prevencije iznenadne srčane smrti.

Rad pod nazivom "Case report: State-of-the-art risk-modifying treatment of sudden cardiac death in an asymptomatic patient with a mutation in the SCN5A gene and a review of the literature", objavljen je u uglednom kardiološkom časopisu "Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine", jednom od najprestižnijih u polju kardiologije i kardiovaskularne medicine (u prvoj kvartili najboljih časopisa u tom području), piše Jutarnji list.

Velik broj iznenadnih smrti u ranoj životnoj dobi, u obitelji pacijenta kao i postojećih kardioloških problema, potaknuo je liječnike da provedu detaljnu genetičku analizu i utvrde postojanje mutacija na genima povezanim s pojavnošću iznenadne srčane smrti. U radu se analiziraju 294 gena povezanih sa stanjima koja mogu dovesti do iznenadne srčane smrti, uključujući i Brugada sindrom te ostale klinički relevantne analize kao i ugradnja implantacijskog kardioverter-defibrilatora.

U radu se predlaže novi integrirani koncept dijagnostike i liječenja koji se temelji na načelima personalizirane medicine, i uključuje sekvenciranje sljedeće generacije te kao posljedično liječenje nakon otkrića postojanja patogene varijante unutar SCN5A gena (svojstvene Brugada sindromu) liječenje pacijenata ugradnjom kardioverter-defibrilatora (ICD), koji se aktivira u slučaj nastanka maligne aritmije, a trenutačno najnaprednijoj metodi liječenja za pacijente s visokim rizikom za iznenadnu srčanu smrt.

Samo u sportu u zadnjih 30 godina prema dostupnoj znanstvenoj literaturi oko 2.400 sportaša umrlo je od iznenadne srčane smrti. Ovaj rad pokazuje veliki napredak u personaliziranom pristupu liječenja u kardiologiji, a važno je istaknuti višegodišnju iznimno uspješnu suradnju hrvatskih liječnika Specijalne bolnice Sv. Katarina i KB Dubrava, s jednim od vodećih svjetskih kardiologa profesorom Josepom Brugadom, a sve kako bi se pružila najbolja moguća briga i prevencija za zdravlje pacijenata.

Na važnost prevencije iznenadne srčane smrti analizirajući ključne gene i patogene mutacije povezane s ovim stanjem, upozorio je još 2021. godine prof.dr. Dragan Primorac kad je s Hrvatskim nogometnim savezom predložio model pod nazivom "Hrvatski model prevencije iznenadne srčane smrti u sportaša analizom ciljanih gena i pripadajućih mutacija povezanim sa stanjima koja mogu dovesti do iznenadne srčane smrti sportaša".

"Oduvijek sam se pitao kako mlada osoba, kao što je bio moj otac, može doživjeti iznenadnu srčanu smrt s 36 godina. Kada sam saznao da sam pozitivan na patološku varijantu gena SCN5A odlučio sam se na ugradnju defibrilatora. Informacija o mom pozitivnom testu na patogenu varijantu gena SCN5A ključna je za moju budućnost i planiranje obitelji, budući da sam sada svjestan potencijalnih rizika. Nakon ugradnje defibrilatora, ja se i dalje bavim sportom, trčim i igram nogomet, košarku, redovito treniram. Napokon mogu voditi normalan život. Smatram da svojim primjerom mogu utjecati i na druge ljude i pomoći da se time spasi puno života", piše Jutarnji list.
