Vlasnik Zare Inditex sklopio je s američkim startupom Ambercycleom ugovor o opskrbi recikliranim poliesterom, naznačivši da u proizvodnji odjeće ubuduće planira više koristiti reciklirani tekstilni otpad.
Najveći lanac trgovina odjećom u svijetu najavio je da će izdvojiti više od 70 milijuna eura kako bi osigurao opskrbu Ambercycleovim recikliranim poliesterom, proizvedenim od tekstilnog otpada.
Poliester je proizvod naftne industrije, a naveliko se koristi u sportskoj odjeći zato što se brzo suši i dugo traje, podsjeća Reuters.
Inditex će, prema ugovoru, tri godine od američkog startupa kupovati "značajan" dio recikliranog poliestera koji se prodaje pod markom cycora. Do kraja desetljeća materijali "nove generacije" trebali bi činiti četvrtinu vlakana koje vlasnik Zare koristi u proizvodnji.
Američki startup iskoristit će pak novac od posla s Inditexom za financiranje prve komercijalne tvornice za reciklažu tekstila. Očekuje se da će proizvodnja cycore u tvornici započeti oko 2025. godine. Inditex će kupovati materijal tri godine nakon početka rada.
Neki brendovi odjeće žele smanjiti upotrebu čistog poliestera i već su se prebacili na njegovu recikliranu verziju, dobivenu od plastičnih boca, ali praksa se našla na meti kritika jer je generirala veću potražnju za rabljenim bocama, podigavši im cijene.
Praksa proizvodnje odjeće od recikliranog poliestera koji se dobiva reciklažom tekstilnog otpada tek je u povojima i trebat će vremena da podmiri potrebe globalnih modnih brendova.
Ugovor s američkom tvrtkom najnovije je ulaganje Inditexa u startupove za recikliranje tekstila.
Prošle godine potpisao su trogodišnji ugovor, vrijedan 100 milijuna eura, o kupnji 30 posto recikliranih vlakana finskog proizvođača Infinited Fiber Co, a uložio je i u američku tvrtku usmjerenu Circ, koja se također bavi recikliranjem tekstila.
U matičnoj Španjolskoj Inditex je s konkurentima, uključujući H&M i Mango, osnovao udrugu za upravljanje otpadom od odjeće, u sklopu priprema modne industrije za zakone EU-a koji će od početka 2025. godine od zemalja tražiti zahtijevati odvojeno prikupljanje tekstilnog otpada.

Vlasnik Zare Inditex sklopio je s američkim startupom Ambercycleom ugovor o opskrbi recikliranim poliesterom, naznačivši da u proizvodnji odjeće ubuduće planira više koristiti reciklirani tekstilni otpad.
Najveći lanac trgovina odjećom u svijetu najavio je da će izdvojiti više od 70 milijuna eura kako bi osigurao opskrbu Ambercycleovim recikliranim poliesterom, proizvedenim od tekstilnog otpada.
Poliester je proizvod naftne industrije, a naveliko se koristi u sportskoj odjeći zato što se brzo suši i dugo traje, podsjeća Reuters.
Inditex će, prema ugovoru, tri godine od američkog startupa kupovati "značajan" dio recikliranog poliestera koji se prodaje pod markom cycora. Do kraja desetljeća materijali "nove generacije" trebali bi činiti četvrtinu vlakana koje vlasnik Zare koristi u proizvodnji.
Američki startup iskoristit će pak novac od posla s Inditexom za financiranje prve komercijalne tvornice za reciklažu tekstila. Očekuje se da će proizvodnja cycore u tvornici započeti oko 2025. godine. Inditex će kupovati materijal tri godine nakon početka rada.
Neki brendovi odjeće žele smanjiti upotrebu čistog poliestera i već su se prebacili na njegovu recikliranu verziju, dobivenu od plastičnih boca, ali praksa se našla na meti kritika jer je generirala veću potražnju za rabljenim bocama, podigavši im cijene.
Praksa proizvodnje odjeće od recikliranog poliestera koji se dobiva reciklažom tekstilnog otpada tek je u povojima i trebat će vremena da podmiri potrebe globalnih modnih brendova.
Ugovor s američkom tvrtkom najnovije je ulaganje Inditexa u startupove za recikliranje tekstila.
Prošle godine potpisao su trogodišnji ugovor, vrijedan 100 milijuna eura, o kupnji 30 posto recikliranih vlakana finskog proizvođača Infinited Fiber Co, a uložio je i u američku tvrtku usmjerenu Circ, koja se također bavi recikliranjem tekstila.
U matičnoj Španjolskoj Inditex je s konkurentima, uključujući H&M i Mango, osnovao udrugu za upravljanje otpadom od odjeće, u sklopu priprema modne industrije za zakone EU-a koji će od početka 2025. godine od zemalja tražiti zahtijevati odvojeno prikupljanje tekstilnog otpada.
