Prošla je godina dana otkako je argentinski tenisač Juan Martin del Potro imao svoj posljednji nastup na ATP Touru, a nakon još jedne operacije koljena, kojoj je podvrgnut u siječnju, pobjednik US Opena iz 2009. odlučan je u svojoj želji za povratkom na teren.

U podcastu za južnoamerički ESPN 31-godišnji tenisač iz Tandila otkrio je glavni motiv u još jednom pokušaju uspona prema teniskom vrhu, tamo gdje bi zasigurno proveo mnogo više vremena da ga ozljede zgloba zapešća i koljena u tome nisu spriječile.

"Roditelji me nikada nisu gledali uživo na nekom od Grand Slam turnira. To je moj pravi motiv. Moram se vratiti tako da me mogu doći gledati. Tada ću moći reći: Roger (Federer), dođi upoznati moje roditelje. Oni su iz Tandila", otkrio je Del Potro koji je zaslužio oprostiti se od tenisa pod svojim uvjetima, a ne da ga na to prisile ozljede koje su mu ionako oduzele najmanje četiri godine karijere.

Tenisači bi se ponovno u akciju trebali vratiti 14. kolovoza turnirom u Washingtonu, na kojem je Del Potro triput bio pobjednikom, ali Argentinac još nema naznaku kad bi se mogao vratiti na teren.

"Imam boljih i lošijih dana, kao i svi koji imaju probleme s koljenom. Osjećam bolove kad se penjem, kad ga opterećujem ili u uvjetima velike vlage. Nije lako, ali želim završiti karijeru onako kako mislim da zaslužujem", poručio je Del Potro, junak argentinskog trijumfa u Davis Cupu 2016., kad je njegova reprezentacija sa 3-2 nadigrala Hrvatsku u zagrebačkoj Areni.

Prošla je godina dana otkako je argentinski tenisač Juan Martin del Potro imao svoj posljednji nastup na ATP Touru, a nakon još jedne operacije koljena, kojoj je podvrgnut u siječnju, pobjednik US Opena iz 2009. odlučan je u svojoj želji za povratkom na teren.

U podcastu za južnoamerički ESPN 31-godišnji tenisač iz Tandila otkrio je glavni motiv u još jednom pokušaju uspona prema teniskom vrhu, tamo gdje bi zasigurno proveo mnogo više vremena da ga ozljede zgloba zapešća i koljena u tome nisu spriječile.

"Roditelji me nikada nisu gledali uživo na nekom od Grand Slam turnira. To je moj pravi motiv. Moram se vratiti tako da me mogu doći gledati. Tada ću moći reći: Roger (Federer), dođi upoznati moje roditelje. Oni su iz Tandila", otkrio je Del Potro koji je zaslužio oprostiti se od tenisa pod svojim uvjetima, a ne da ga na to prisile ozljede koje su mu ionako oduzele najmanje četiri godine karijere.

Tenisači bi se ponovno u akciju trebali vratiti 14. kolovoza turnirom u Washingtonu, na kojem je Del Potro triput bio pobjednikom, ali Argentinac još nema naznaku kad bi se mogao vratiti na teren.

"Imam boljih i lošijih dana, kao i svi koji imaju probleme s koljenom. Osjećam bolove kad se penjem, kad ga opterećujem ili u uvjetima velike vlage. Nije lako, ali želim završiti karijeru onako kako mislim da zaslužujem", poručio je Del Potro, junak argentinskog trijumfa u Davis Cupu 2016., kad je njegova reprezentacija sa 3-2 nadigrala Hrvatsku u zagrebačkoj Areni.
