Bivši američki tenisač Mardy Fish (37) izabran je za novog izbornika američke Davis Cup reprezentacije.

Fish će za kormilom američke vrste naslijediti Jima Couriera koji je podnio ostavku nakon poraza od Hrvatske sa 2-3 u polufinalu Svjetske skupine Davis Cupa. Pod njegovim vodstvom američka reprezentacija je dva puta stigla do polufinala Svjetske skupine - 2012. i ove godine.

"Ne mogu izraziti koliko sam uzbuđen i sretan. Ovo je za mene posao iz snova," kazao je Fish koji je tijekom karijere osvojio šest ATP turnira, te srebro na OI u Ateni 2004. godine. Najbolji plasman na ATP ljestvici imao je u kolovozu 2011. kada je bio sedmi tenisač svijeta.

"Prošao sam kroz mnoge uspone i padove u svojoj karijeri. Želim pokušati najbolje što mogu kako bi motivirao te momke," dodao je.

Nakon što se 2015. povukao kao igrač, Fish je radio kao trener u USTA Player Development, pomažući voditi mlade Amerikance na turnirima, uključujući Taylora Fritz i Jareda Donaldsona.

Bivši američki tenisač Mardy Fish (37) izabran je za novog izbornika američke Davis Cup reprezentacije.

Fish će za kormilom američke vrste naslijediti Jima Couriera koji je podnio ostavku nakon poraza od Hrvatske sa 2-3 u polufinalu Svjetske skupine Davis Cupa. Pod njegovim vodstvom američka reprezentacija je dva puta stigla do polufinala Svjetske skupine - 2012. i ove godine.

"Ne mogu izraziti koliko sam uzbuđen i sretan. Ovo je za mene posao iz snova," kazao je Fish koji je tijekom karijere osvojio šest ATP turnira, te srebro na OI u Ateni 2004. godine. Najbolji plasman na ATP ljestvici imao je u kolovozu 2011. kada je bio sedmi tenisač svijeta.

"Prošao sam kroz mnoge uspone i padove u svojoj karijeri. Želim pokušati najbolje što mogu kako bi motivirao te momke," dodao je.

Nakon što se 2015. povukao kao igrač, Fish je radio kao trener u USTA Player Development, pomažući voditi mlade Amerikance na turnirima, uključujući Taylora Fritz i Jareda Donaldsona.

Bivši američki tenisač Mardy Fish (37) izabran je za novog izbornika američke Davis Cup reprezentacije.
