Hrvatska tenisačica Donna Vekić je u ponedjeljak u 1. kolu Grand Slam turnira Australian Opena poražena od Amerikanke Alison Riske sa 2-6, 2-6 poslije sat i 13 minuta igre.

Vekić je meč počela sa dva izgubljena servisa, pa je Amerikanka povela 4-0 i mirno okončala set u svoju korist sa 6-2. Niti drugi set nije dobro krenuo za Vekić, te je u trećem gemu, iako je spasila jednu break loptu, ipak izgubila servis, a potom u petom gemu još jedan. Na kraju je i drugi set završio sa 6-2 za Riske.

Tako se je Vekić, koja je prošle godine stigla do 4. kola na Australian Openu, ove godine oprostila od prvog Grand Slama sezone već na startu turnira.

Vekić tijekom cijelog meča nije imala niti jednu priliku za break, a napravila je 27 neprisiljenih grešaka, odnosno 16 više od svoje protivnice. Bio to njihov šesti međusobni susret, a omjer u pobjedama sada izjednačen na 3-3.

U ponedjeljak će igrati još jedna hrvatska tenisačica, Petra Martić u prvom kolu ima za suparnicu Švicarku Jil Teichmann, 34. na WTA listi. To će biti njihov prvi međusobni dvoboj.

Španjolac Rafael Nadal i braniteljica naslova na Australian Openu japanska tenisačica Naomi Osaka, uvjerljivim su pobjedama započeli nastup na prvom ovogodišnjem Grad Slam turniru.

Nadal (ATP - 5.) je za 109 minuta pobijedio Amerikanca Marcosa Girona (ATP - 66.) sa 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, dok je Osaka (WTA - 14.) trebala 68 minuta za pobjedu 6-3, 6-3 protiv Kolumbijke Marije Camile Osorio (WTA - 50.).

Turnir tenisača prvog je dana ostao bez dvojice nositelja. Amerikanac Sebastian Korda je lakoćom svladao 12. nositelja, Britanca Camerona Norrieja sa 6-3, 6-0, 6-4, dok je Australac Aleksandar Vukić sa 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 (3) bio bolji od 30. nositelja, Južnoafrikanca Lloyda Harrisa.

Najveće iznenađene prvog dana turnira tenisačica priredila je Kineskinja Qiang Wang (WTA - 110.) koja je sa 6-4, 6-2 svladala 16. tenisačicu svijeta, 17-godišnju Amerikanku Coco Gauff.

Hrvatska tenisačica Donna Vekić je u ponedjeljak u 1. kolu Grand Slam turnira Australian Opena poražena od Amerikanke Alison Riske sa 2-6, 2-6 poslije sat i 13 minuta igre.

Vekić je meč počela sa dva izgubljena servisa, pa je Amerikanka povela 4-0 i mirno okončala set u svoju korist sa 6-2. Niti drugi set nije dobro krenuo za Vekić, te je u trećem gemu, iako je spasila jednu break loptu, ipak izgubila servis, a potom u petom gemu još jedan. Na kraju je i drugi set završio sa 6-2 za Riske.

Tako se je Vekić, koja je prošle godine stigla do 4. kola na Australian Openu, ove godine oprostila od prvog Grand Slama sezone već na startu turnira.

Vekić tijekom cijelog meča nije imala niti jednu priliku za break, a napravila je 27 neprisiljenih grešaka, odnosno 16 više od svoje protivnice. Bio to njihov šesti međusobni susret, a omjer u pobjedama sada izjednačen na 3-3.

U ponedjeljak će igrati još jedna hrvatska tenisačica, Petra Martić u prvom kolu ima za suparnicu Švicarku Jil Teichmann, 34. na WTA listi. To će biti njihov prvi međusobni dvoboj.

Španjolac Rafael Nadal i braniteljica naslova na Australian Openu japanska tenisačica Naomi Osaka, uvjerljivim su pobjedama započeli nastup na prvom ovogodišnjem Grad Slam turniru.

Nadal (ATP - 5.) je za 109 minuta pobijedio Amerikanca Marcosa Girona (ATP - 66.) sa 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, dok je Osaka (WTA - 14.) trebala 68 minuta za pobjedu 6-3, 6-3 protiv Kolumbijke Marije Camile Osorio (WTA - 50.).

Turnir tenisača prvog je dana ostao bez dvojice nositelja. Amerikanac Sebastian Korda je lakoćom svladao 12. nositelja, Britanca Camerona Norrieja sa 6-3, 6-0, 6-4, dok je Australac Aleksandar Vukić sa 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 (3) bio bolji od 30. nositelja, Južnoafrikanca Lloyda Harrisa.

Najveće iznenađene prvog dana turnira tenisačica priredila je Kineskinja Qiang Wang (WTA - 110.) koja je sa 6-4, 6-2 svladala 16. tenisačicu svijeta, 17-godišnju Amerikanku Coco Gauff.

Donna Vekić poražena na startu Australian Opena, Nadal i Osaka upisali uvjerljive pobjede

Hrvatska tenisačica Donna Vekić je u ponedjeljak u 1. kolu Grand Slam turnira Australian Opena poražena od Amerikanke Alison Riske sa 2-6, 2-6 poslije sat i 13 minuta igre.

Vekić je meč počela sa dva izgubljena servisa, pa je Amerikanka povela 4-0 i mirno okončala set u svoju korist sa 6-2. Niti drugi set nije dobro krenuo za Vekić, te je u trećem gemu, iako je spasila jednu break loptu, ipak izgubila servis, a potom u petom gemu još jedan. Na kraju je i drugi set završio sa 6-2 za Riske.

Tako se je Vekić, koja je prošle godine stigla do 4. kola na Australian Openu, ove godine oprostila od prvog Grand Slama sezone već na startu turnira.

Vekić tijekom cijelog meča nije imala niti jednu priliku za break, a napravila je 27 neprisiljenih grešaka, odnosno 16 više od svoje protivni...
