Steven Gerrard kao Liverpoolov Dejo Računica.

U zadnjem kolu Premierhipa past će konačna odluka o prvaku, a drugoplasirani velikan s Anfielda sve nade polaže u kiks branitelja naslova Manchester Cityja, u svog bivšeg kapetana Gerrarda koji kao trener Aston Ville stiže na Etihad. Nakon što je ozljedama (Van Dijka, Salaha...) osjetno oslabljen i umorni Liverpool u utorak navečer ipak iščupao pobjedu kod Southamptona bez čak devetorice startera iz finala FA Cupa (2:1), posljednja runda donosi odluku u najjačoj ligi svijeta. U nedjelju poslijepodne (17 sati) prvoplasirani Manchester City koji ima bod više od Liverpoola na svom Etihadu ugostit će Aston Villu, dok će istovremeno momčad Jürgena Kloppa biti domaćin Wolverhamptonu.

Ako City izgubi, a Liverpool slavi titula će na Anfield. U slučaju istog broja bodova slavit će vjerojatno City jer ima čak šest pogodaka bolju ukupnu gol razliku. Kao što se Hajduk zajedno sa svojim navijačima nadao kako bi Šibenik kojeg vodi bivši veznjak „bijelih” Dean Računica mimo očekivanja mogao zaustaviti Dinamo i zakuhati hrvatsko prvenstvo, zadnja nada „redsima” je njihov legendarni kapetan, veznjak na klupi Ville. No, nadamo se i kako Gerrard neće morati proživljavati ludilo kakvo je prije ogleda na Šubićevcu prolazio Računica.

Gerrard kao igrač nikada nije osvojio Premiership s Liverpoolom, makar je bio prvak Europe (i igrao još jedno finale), osvajač Kupa UEFA-a... Najbliže je bio 2014. godine kada se u ključnoj utakmici prvenstva poskliznuo i otvorio vrata prema golu strijelcu (Demba Ba) i Chelseaju ka pobjedi na Anfieldu koja je Liverpoolu na koncu otela naslov. I odnijela ga baš Cityju. Osam godina kasnije Gerrard sada već kao iskusni manager (nakon što je prethodno vodio Glasgow Rangerse) ima mogućnost donijeti prvenstvo svom Liverpoolu kao trener. Međutim, ne kao trener kluba iz grada Beatlesa već onog iz Birminghama. I oteti ga baš Cityju.

Nije Gerrard jedini veliki bivši igrač Liverpoola u Villi. Tamo je i Philippe Coutinho. Brazilac prije četiri i pol godine nije slušao Kloppove savjete. Njemački trener mu je tada govorio: „Možeš otići u Barcelonu i biti jedan od, ili možeš ostati ovdje da ti navijači dignu spomenik ispred stadiona!”. Brazilac je u rekordnom Liverpolovom izlaznom transferu za čak 135 milijuna eura otišao u redove katalonskog diva i od tada mu karijera ide nizbrdo, kao što se može reći i generalno za Barcelonu. Slobodan pad zaustavljen je tek dolaskom pozivom bivšeg suigrača Gerrarda u Villu koja ga je ovih dana i otkupila. Za 20 milijuna eura, cca sedam puta manji iznos. Tu je još jedan bivši igrač Liverpoola Danny Ings, napadač čiji su boravak na Anfieldu obilježile teške ozljede inače bi sigurno ostavio dublji trag.

Englezi uvijek igraju maksimalno u duhu fair playa. No, otprilike tu nekako staju sve koliko-toliko realne nade Liverpoola. City je veliki favorit, a ogled zadnjeg kola Villi nema baš nikakvu bodovnu važnost. Uz to u slučaju poraza će Villa poprilično i zaraditi! Ljetos je veznjak engleske reprezentacije Jack Grealish za 117,5 milijuna eura preselio iz Ville u City. Međutim, jedna od stavki bonusa od transfera jest i da će Villa zaraditi dodatnih 18 milijuna eura u slučaju da City osvoji naslov prvaka. Dakle, ako klub iz Birminghama izgubi sigurno će biti bogatiji za čak 18 milijuna eura.

Ako City osvoji titulu u Premiershipu bit će to četvrta klupska u zadnjih pet sezona, a za jedinu rupu krivac je Liverpool u sezoni 2019/20. Pritom se posebno pamti sezona 2018/19 kada je ove dvije momčadi na koncu na vrhu ljestvice razdvajao samo bod. Manchester City je bio prvak sa 98 bodova, a Liverpool drugoplasirani s čak 97. Za usporedbu kakva je to bila perfektna sezona vodećeg dvojca engleskog nogometa kolo prije kraja ovog prvenstva City ima 90 bodova, a Liverpool 89. Međutim, dok je Guardiolin City mnogo uspješniji u domaćem prvenstvu, Liverpoolu bolje ide u Ligi prvaka. Ovosezonsko finale bit će treće Liverpoola u zadnjih pet sezona, a do kraja su otišli u sezoni 2018/19.

Nakon što je ozljedama (Van Dijka, Salaha...) osjetno oslabljen i umorni Liverpool u utorak navečer ipak iščupao pobjedu kod Southamptona bez čak devetorice startera iz finala FA Cupa (2:1), posljednja runda donosi odluku u najjačoj ligi svijeta. U nedjelju poslijepodne (17 sati) prvoplasirani Manchester City koji ima bod više od Liverpoola na svom Etihadu ugostit će Aston Villu, dok će istovremeno momčad Jürgena Kloppa biti domaćin Wolverhamptonu.

Ako City izgubi, a Liverpool slavi titula će na Anfield. U slučaju istog broja bodova slavit će vjerojatno City jer ima čak šest pogodaka bolju ukupnu gol razliku. Kao što se Hajduk zajedno sa svojim navijačima nadao kako bi Šibenik kojeg vodi bivši veznjak „bijelih” Dean Računica mimo očekivanja mogao zaustaviti Dinamo i zakuhati hrvatsko prvenstvo, zadnja nada „redsima” je njihov legendarni kapetan, veznjak na klupi Ville. No, nadamo se i kako Gerrard neće morati proživljavati ludilo kakvo je prije ogleda na Šubićevcu prolazio Računica.

Gerrard kao igrač nikada nije osvojio Premiership s Liverpoolom, makar je bio prvak Europe (i igrao još jedno finale), osvajač Kupa UEFA-a... Najbliže je bio 2014. godine kada se u ključnoj utakmici prvenstva poskliznuo i otvorio vrata prema golu strijelcu (Demba Ba) i Chelseaju ka pobjedi na Anfieldu koja je Liverpoolu na koncu otela naslov. I odnijela ga baš Cityju. Osam godina kasnije Gerrard sada već kao iskusni manager (nakon što je prethodno vodio Glasgow Rangerse) ima mogućnost donijeti prvenstvo svom Liverpoolu kao trener. Međutim, ne kao trener kluba iz grada Beatlesa već onog iz Birminghama. I oteti ga baš Cityju.

Nije Gerrard jedini veliki bivši igrač Liverpoola u Villi. Tamo je i Philippe Coutinho. Brazilac prije četiri i pol godine nije slušao Kloppove savjete. Njemački trener mu je tada govorio: „Možeš otići u Barcelonu i biti jedan od, ili možeš ostati ovdje da ti navijači dignu spomenik ispred stadiona!”. Brazilac je u rekordnom Liverpolovom izlaznom transferu za čak 135 milijuna eura otišao u redove katalonskog diva i od tada mu karijera ide nizbrdo, kao što se može reći i generalno za Barcelonu. Slobodan pad zaustavljen je tek dolaskom pozivom bivšeg suigrača Gerrarda u Villu koja ga je ovih dana i otkupila. Za 20 milijuna eura, cca sedam puta manji iznos. Tu je još jedan bivši igrač Liverpoola Danny Ings, napadač čiji su boravak na Anfieldu obilježile teške ozljede inače bi sigurno ostavio dublji trag.

Englezi uvijek igraju maksimalno u duhu fair playa. No, otprilike tu nekako staju sve koliko-toliko realne nade Liverpoola. City je veliki favorit, a ogled zadnjeg kola Villi nema baš nikakvu bodovnu važnost. Uz to u slučaju poraza će Villa poprilično i zaraditi! Ljetos je veznjak engleske reprezentacije Jack Grealish za 117,5 milijuna eura preselio iz Ville u City. Međutim, jedna od stavki bonusa od transfera jest i da će Villa zaraditi dodatnih 18 milijuna eura u slučaju da City osvoji naslov prvaka. Dakle, ako klub iz Birminghama izgubi sigurno će biti bogatiji za čak 18 milijuna eura.

Ako City osvoji titulu u Premiershipu bit će to četvrta klupska u zadnjih pet sezona, a za jedinu rupu krivac je Liverpool u sezoni 2019/20. Pritom se posebno pamti sezona 2018/19 kada je ove dvije momčadi na koncu na vrhu ljestvice razdvajao samo bod. Manchester City je bio prvak sa 98 bodova, a Liverpool drugoplasirani s čak 97. Za usporedbu kakva je to bila perfektna sezona vodećeg dvojca engleskog nogometa kolo prije kraja ovog prvenstva City ima 90 bodova, a Liverpool 89. Međutim, dok je Guardiolin City mnogo uspješniji u domaćem prvenstvu, Liverpoolu bolje ide u Ligi prvaka. Ovosezonsko finale bit će treće Liverpoola u zadnjih pet sezona, a do kraja su otišli u sezoni 2018/19.
