Marokanski izbornik Walid Regragui u utrci je za nagradu za najboljeg nogometnog selektora u 2022. godini koju dodjeljuje Međunarodna federacija za nogometnu povijest i statistiku (IFFHS), nakon što je osvojio četvrto mjesto na Svjetskom prvenstvu.

Ovo je prvi put da je jedan afrički trener nominirani u utrci za nagradu koja se od 1996. dodjeljuje izbornicima koji ostvare velika postignućima u svojim nacionalnim timovima. Jedan povijesni uspjeh već je ostvario, Maroko je postao prva reprezentacija iz Afrike koja je dogurala do polufinala Svjetskog prvenstva. Nikome to prije njih, nije pošlo za rukom, a u samoj završnici turnira zaustavila ih je Francuska koja je u borbi za finale bila bolja (2:0). Regragui je postavljen na čelo momčadi samo tri mjeseca prije početka turnira u Kataru, a na tom je mjestu naslijedio Vahida Halilhodžića. Pohvaljen je zbog svoje sposobnosti da motivira igrače, kao i zbog izgradnje jedne od najjačih obrana na turniru koja je do polufinala primila samo jedan pogodak.

"Regragui je ujedinio sve, donio stabilnost u svlačionicu i popravio pukotine u momčadi koje su nastale prije njegova dolaska." napisala je FIFA u svojoj izjavi aludirajući na situaciju oko glavne zvijezde Hakima Ziyecha koji je pod vodstvom Halilodžića bio izbačen iz momčadi, da bi ga novi izbornik vratio i ponovno mu dao ulogu glavnog dirigenta u napadu. Na popisu se nalazi Argentinac Lionel Scaloni koji zbog titule Svjetskog prvaka, ali i naslova Finalissime (utakmice između europskog i južnoameričkog prvaka) u ovoj godini, pretendira kao glavni favorit za ovu nagradu.

Nadalje, svjetski doprvak Didier Deschamps također je u konkurenciji, a na popisu je i naš izbornik Zlatko Dalić koji je s Vatrenima napravio novi senzacionalan uspjeh osvojivši broncu u Kataru. Trener rođen u Livnu već je jednom bio blizu ove nagrade kad se morao zadovoljiti drugim mjestom 2018. godine kad je najboljim izbornikom proglašen Deschamps. Pobjednik će biti proglašen u siječnju iduće godine.

Ovo je prvi put da je jedan afrički trener nominirani u utrci za nagradu koja se od 1996. dodjeljuje izbornicima koji ostvare velika postignućima u svojim nacionalnim timovima. Jedan povijesni uspjeh već je ostvario, Maroko je postao prva reprezentacija iz Afrike koja je dogurala do polufinala Svjetskog prvenstva. Nikome to prije njih, nije pošlo za rukom, a u samoj završnici turnira zaustavila ih je Francuska koja je u borbi za finale bila bolja (2:0). Regragui je postavljen na čelo momčadi samo tri mjeseca prije početka turnira u Kataru, a na tom je mjestu naslijedio Vahida Halilhodžića. Pohvaljen je zbog svoje sposobnosti da motivira igrače, kao i zbog izgradnje jedne od najjačih obrana na turniru koja je do polufinala primila samo jedan pogodak.

"Regragui je ujedinio sve, donio stabilnost u svlačionicu i popravio pukotine u momčadi koje su nastale prije njegova dolaska." napisala je FIFA u svojoj izjavi aludirajući na situaciju oko glavne zvijezde Hakima Ziyecha koji je pod vodstvom Halilodžića bio izbačen iz momčadi, da bi ga novi izbornik vratio i ponovno mu dao ulogu glavnog dirigenta u napadu. Na popisu se nalazi Argentinac Lionel Scaloni koji zbog titule Svjetskog prvaka, ali i naslova Finalissime (utakmice između europskog i južnoameričkog prvaka) u ovoj godini, pretendira kao glavni favorit za ovu nagradu.

Nadalje, svjetski doprvak Didier Deschamps također je u konkurenciji, a na popisu je i naš izbornik Zlatko Dalić koji je s Vatrenima napravio novi senzacionalan uspjeh osvojivši broncu u Kataru. Trener rođen u Livnu već je jednom bio blizu ove nagrade kad se morao zadovoljiti drugim mjestom 2018. godine kad je najboljim izbornikom proglašen Deschamps. Pobjednik će biti proglašen u siječnju iduće godine.
