Dres kojeg je nosila argentinska nogometna legenda Diego Maradona kada je u četvrtfinalu SP-a 1986. zabio gol Engleskoj bit će, dvije godine nakon njegove smrti, ponuđen na dražbi aukcijske kuće Sotheby koja se nada da će ga prodati za više od 5 milijuna dolara.

Više od 35 godina vlasnik ovog plavog dresa s brojem 10 je bivši veznjak engleske reprezentacije Steve Hodge koji je na kraju te utakmice razmijenio svoj dres s Maradonom. Pobjeda Argentine u četvrtfinalu 2-1 jedna je od najkontroverznijih u povijesti Svjetskih prvenstava baš zbog gola kojeg je zabio Maradona i to rukom.

Bivši engleski nogometaš, koji je svoju autobiografiju naslovio "Čovjek s Maradoninom majicom", povjerio je dres Nacionalnom nogometnom muzeju u Manchesteru da tamo bude izložen i obećao je nakon Maradonine smrti da predmet nije na prodaju jer ima "nevjerojatnu sentimentalnu vrijednost". No, čini se da se predomislio.

U priopćenju Sotheby'sa u kojem je najavljena prodaja, Steve Hodge je rekao da je "siguran da će novi vlasnik biti vrlo ponosan što posjeduje" ovaj  dres, koja "ima duboko kulturno značenje za svijet nogometa, argentinski i engleski narod" .

Sotheby's, koji će ga izložiti u svojim prostorijama u Londonu tijekom internetske prodaje (20. travnja do 4. svibnja), postavio je početnu cijenu na četiri milijuna funti što je više od 5,2 milijuna dolara.

Taj je iznos nešto ispod rekordnih 5,6 milijuna dolara za koliko je 2019. prodan dres američke legenda bejzbola Babe Ruth s New York Yankeesima tijekom 20-ih godina prošlog stoljeća. Prošle je godine za 4,2 milijuna dolara prodan dres koji je 50-ih nosila crna zvijezda Brooklyn Dodgersa Jackie Robinson.

Na stadionu Azteca u Mexico Cityju 22. lipnja 1986. igrana je utakmica četvrtfinala SP-a u kojem su se susreli Argentina i Engleska. Maradona je, nakon što je loptu prema svom golu skrenuo Hodge, nadskočio vratara Engleske Shiltona i podignutom rukom iznad glave prebacio čuvara mreže. "Božja ruka", reći će Maradona nakon susreta. 

Četiri minute kasnije Maradona je postigao još jedan pogodak, ovoga puta regularan. Uzeo je loptu na svojoj polovici terena i onda u trku stigao do engleskog šesnaesterca, zaobišao vratara i zabio za 2-0.

Lineker je u samoj završnici uspio smanjiti rezultat na 2-1, a Argentina je nakon toga otišla do svog drugog naslova prvaka svijeta.

Bivši engleski nogometaš, koji je svoju autobiografiju naslovio "Čovjek s Maradoninom majicom", povjerio je dres Nacionalnom nogometnom muzeju u Manchesteru da tamo bude izložen i obećao je nakon Maradonine smrti da predmet nije na prodaju jer ima "nevjerojatnu sentimentalnu vrijednost". No, čini se da se predomislio.

U priopćenju Sotheby'sa u kojem je najavljena prodaja, Steve Hodge je rekao da je "siguran da će novi vlasnik biti vrlo ponosan što posjeduje" ovaj  dres, koja "ima duboko kulturno značenje za svijet nogometa, argentinski i engleski narod" .

Sotheby's, koji će ga izložiti u svojim prostorijama u Londonu tijekom internetske prodaje (20. travnja do 4. svibnja), postavio je početnu cijenu na četiri milijuna funti što je više od 5,2 milijuna dolara.

Taj je iznos nešto ispod rekordnih 5,6 milijuna dolara za koliko je 2019. prodan dres američke legenda bejzbola Babe Ruth s New York Yankeesima tijekom 20-ih godina prošlog stoljeća. Prošle je godine za 4,2 milijuna dolara prodan dres koji je 50-ih nosila crna zvijezda Brooklyn Dodgersa Jackie Robinson.

Na stadionu Azteca u Mexico Cityju 22. lipnja 1986. igrana je utakmica četvrtfinala SP-a u kojem su se susreli Argentina i Engleska. Maradona je, nakon što je loptu prema svom golu skrenuo Hodge, nadskočio vratara Engleske Shiltona i podignutom rukom iznad glave prebacio čuvara mreže. "Božja ruka", reći će Maradona nakon susreta. 

Četiri minute kasnije Maradona je postigao još jedan pogodak, ovoga puta regularan. Uzeo je loptu na svojoj polovici terena i onda u trku stigao do engleskog šesnaesterca, zaobišao vratara i zabio za 2-0.

Lineker je u samoj završnici uspio smanjiti rezultat na 2-1, a Argentina je nakon toga otišla do svog drugog naslova prvaka svijeta.

Dres kojeg je nosila argentinska nogometna legenda Diego Maradona kada je u četvrtfinalu SP-a 1986. zabio gol Engleskoj bit će, dvije godine nakon njegove smrti, ponuđen na dražbi aukcijske kuće Sotheby koja se nada da će ga prodati za više od 5 milijuna dolara.
