Andrij Ševčenko dao je intervju za Sportsmail u kojem je progovorio o strahotama rata u svojoj zemlji. Ikona kijevskog Dinama i Milana razgovarala je s Jamieom Redknappom, a na mahove je morao susprezati suze.

Ševčenko je prvotno saznao da mu je domovina pod napadom nakon telefonskog poziva od majke iz Kijeva.

"Spavao sam kada sam dobio poziv. Bila je to moja mama. Ona...", rekao je Ševčenko, koji je potom otišao do prozora kako bi se sabrao.

"Žao mi je. Nije mi lako. Rekla mi je: 'Rat je počeo.'. Nismo mogli vjerovati da bi se Rusija odlučila za taj korak i započela rat. Bili smo u šoku", rekao je Ševčenko drhtavim glasom, piše Daily Mail, prenose Sportske novosti.

Zvuci granatiranja i pucanja postali su svakodnevica za Ševčenkovu obitelj. Njegova majka više nije u Kijevu, ali ostaje na ukrajinskom tlu i odbija ga napustiti.

"Osjetite svaku bombu koja padne jer se kuća trese. Rusi su opkolili Kijev i samo bombardiraju nemilosrdno. Nema prestanka. To ne ostavlja ukrajinskom narodu puno prostora za humanitarne koridore. Moja sestra je tamo, moj ujak i ujna, moji rođaci i prijatelji, a neki su na prvoj liniji bojišnice. Ustali su u obranu svoje domovine, bore se za slobodu, za svoj ponos. Moramo se boriti i braniti. Nemamo izbora", objašnjava najbolji strijelac u povijesti ukrajinske reprezentacije sa 48 golova u 111 nastupa.

"Uloga našeg predsjednika Volodimira Zelenskog je jako važna. On je mogao otići, ali je poslao jasnu poruku da će ostati i braniti domovinu. To je ujedinilo ukrajinski narod. Ostao je s njima i neće odustati. Kada vidite ljude na ulici kako bez oružja idu zaustaviti tenk to je tako moćna slika. Borit ćemo se do kraja. Rusija nije dobrodošla", dodaje Ševčenko.

Upitan kako je situaciju objasnio svojim sinovima, 17-godišnjem Jordanu, 15-godišnjem Kristianu, te Alexanderu (9) i Ryderu (7), Ševčenko odgovara:

"Samo im kažem istinu. Žao mi je novinara koji su na licu mjesta i koji tamo ginu. Pokušavaju reći istinu svijetu i zato ginu. Jordan, moj nasjatriji sin išao je sa mnom na proteste u Londonu. On zna što se događa. Ukrajinska nezavisnost je stara samo 30 godina, a od prvog dana do sada uvijek sam bio ponosan što sam Ukrajinac i nitko nam drugi neće ništa diktirati."

S kijevskim gradonačelnikom Vitalijem Kličkom je na stalnoj telefonskoj vezi. Ševčenko pomaže financijski ukrajinskim izbjeglicama, a njegova supruga Kristen također je aktivna u zbrinjavanju prognanih obitelji koje su pobjegle od rata.

Redknapp Ševčenka pita što danas misli o Rusima, ruskom narodu. Dijelio je svlačionicu s ruskim igračima, igrao za Chelsea u vlasništvu Rusa Romana Abramoviča.

"Od početka govorim kako ne vjerujem da se ovo događa. Mislim da odnosi više nikad neće biti isti. Ali isto tako znam da ima puno Rusa koji žele zaustaviti rat. U Rusiji je opasno govoriti istinu, ali to je jedini način da se zaustavi rat. Većina ljudi u Rusiji ne zna istinu. Diskvalifikikacija Rusa? Apsolutno se slažem s diskvalifikacijom ruskih sportaša iz natjecanja dok rat ne prestane. Moramo nastaviti pritisak. Ruski predsjednik, ne želim izgovoriti ime te stvari, rekao je da je ovo posebna operacija. To nije posebna operacija. Tu se radi o ubijanju nevinih. Ljudi su opkoljeni, a gradovi se bombardiraju... Da, ja sam slavni bivši nogometaš, ali moj posao je sada zaustaviti ubijanje nevine djece", zaključio je Ševčenko.

Andrij Ševčenko dao je intervju za Sportsmail u kojem je progovorio o strahotama rata u svojoj zemlji. Ikona kijevskog Dinama i Milana razgovarala je s Jamieom Redknappom, a na mahove je morao susprezati suze.

Ševčenko je prvotno saznao da mu je domovina pod napadom nakon telefonskog poziva od majke iz Kijeva.

"Spavao sam kada sam dobio poziv. Bila je to moja mama. Ona...", rekao je Ševčenko, koji je potom otišao do prozora kako bi se sabrao.

"Žao mi je. Nije mi lako. Rekla mi je: 'Rat je počeo.'. Nismo mogli vjerovati da bi se Rusija odlučila za taj korak i započela rat. Bili smo u šoku", rekao je Ševčenko drhtavim glasom, piše Daily Mail, prenose Sportske novosti.

Zvuci granatiranja i pucanja postali su svakodnevica za Ševčenkovu obitelj. Njegova majka više nije u Kijevu, ali ostaje na ukrajinskom tlu i odbija ga napustiti.

"Osjetite svaku bombu koja padne jer se kuća trese. Rusi su opkolili Kijev i samo bombardiraju nemilosrdno. Nema prestanka. To ne ostavlja ukrajinskom narodu puno prostora za humanitarne koridore. Moja sestra je tamo, moj ujak i ujna, moji rođaci i prijatelji, a neki su na prvoj liniji bojišnice. Ustali su u obranu svoje domovine, bore se za slobodu, za svoj ponos. Moramo se boriti i braniti. Nemamo izbora", objašnjava najbolji strijelac u povijesti ukrajinske reprezentacije sa 48 golova u 111 nastupa.

"Uloga našeg predsjednika Volodimira Zelenskog je jako važna. On je mogao otići, ali je poslao jasnu poruku da će ostati i braniti domovinu. To je ujedinilo ukrajinski narod. Ostao je s njima i neće odustati. Kada vidite ljude na ulici kako bez oružja idu zaustaviti tenk to je tako moćna slika. Borit ćemo se do kraja. Rusija nije dobrodošla", dodaje Ševčenko.

Upitan kako je situaciju objasnio svojim sinovima, 17-godišnjem Jordanu, 15-godišnjem Kristianu, te Alexanderu (9) i Ryderu (7), Ševčenko odgovara:

"Samo im kažem istinu. Žao mi je novinara koji su na licu mjesta i koji tamo ginu. Pokušavaju reći istinu svijetu i zato ginu. Jordan, moj nasjatriji sin išao je sa mnom na proteste u Londonu. On zna što se događa. Ukrajinska nezavisnost je stara samo 30 godina, a od prvog dana do sada uvijek sam bio ponosan što sam Ukrajinac i nitko nam drugi neće ništa diktirati."

S kijevskim gradonačelnikom Vitalijem Kličkom je na stalnoj telefonskoj vezi. Ševčenko pomaže financijski ukrajinskim izbjeglicama, a njegova supruga Kristen također je aktivna u zbrinjavanju prognanih obitelji koje su pobjegle od rata.

Redknapp Ševčenka pita što danas misli o Rusima, ruskom narodu. Dijelio je svlačionicu s ruskim igračima, igrao za Chelsea u vlasništvu Rusa Romana Abramoviča.

"Od početka govorim kako ne vjerujem da se ovo događa. Mislim da odnosi više nikad neće biti isti. Ali isto tako znam da ima puno Rusa koji žele zaustaviti rat. U Rusiji je opasno govoriti istinu, ali to je jedini način da se zaustavi rat. Većina ljudi u Rusiji ne zna istinu. Diskvalifikikacija Rusa? Apsolutno se slažem s diskvalifikacijom ruskih sportaša iz natjecanja dok rat ne prestane. Moramo nastaviti pritisak. Ruski predsjednik, ne želim izgovoriti ime te stvari, rekao je da je ovo posebna operacija. To nije posebna operacija. Tu se radi o ubijanju nevinih. Ljudi su opkoljeni, a gradovi se bombardiraju... Da, ja sam slavni bivši nogometaš, ali moj posao je sada zaustaviti ubijanje nevine djece", zaključio je Ševčenko.

Andrij Ševčenko dao je intervju za Sportsmail u kojem je progovorio o strahotama rata u svojoj zemlji. Ikona kijevskog Dinama i Milana razgovarala je s Jamieom Redknappom, a na mahove je morao susprezati suze.

Ševčenko je prvotno saznao da mu je domovina pod napadom nakon telefonskog poziva od majke iz Kijeva.

"Spavao sam kada sam dobio poziv. Bila je to moja mama. Ona...", rekao je Ševčenko, koji je potom otišao do prozora kako bi se sabrao.

"Žao mi je. Nije mi lako. Rekla mi je: 'Rat je počeo.'. Nismo mogli vjerovati da bi se Rusija odlučila za taj korak i započela rat. Bili smo u šoku", rekao je Ševčenko drhtavim glasom, piše Daily Mail, prenose Sportske novosti.

Zvuci granatiranja i pucanja postali su svakodnevica za Ševčenkovu obitelj. Njegova majka više nije u Kijevu...
