Ono kada si u najjačoj ligi svijeta, među klubovima koji su u netom završenom prijelaznom roku na nove igrače potrošili nevjerojatnih 1,4 milijarde eura, jedini klub koji na nove igrače nije potrošio ni penija. A opet si već godinama u vrhu tog istog Premiershipa. To je priča Tottenhamovog ljeta.

Ovog ljeta su se Englezi baš pravili Englezi, pa im je prijelazni rok što se tiče dovođenja novih igrača završio već 9. kolovoza. Liverpool je ovog ljeta potrošio najviše, oko 190 milijuna eura, Chelsea nešto manje od 140 milijuna, a čak i do ove sezone drugoligaš Fulham nevjerojatnih 123 milijuna eura. No, Tottenham nije ni kune. A ovog ljeta i neće. Barem neće nikoga angažirati, jer mogući su još odlasci u druge europske lige gdje prijelazni rok i dalje traje. A taj isti Tottenham je s takvom sličnom, nerasipnom politikom, već treću sezonu zaredom u top tri kluba najjače lige svijeta Premiershipa, te u Ligi prvaka. A već devet sezona nije bio plasiran slabije od šestog mjesta.

Ni inače prvi čovjek Tottenhama Daniel Levy nije brz na obaraču, tvrdi je pregovarač. Krv nije voda. Pogotovo kada treba otvoriti novčanik. Nije se ni očekivalo nekakav bombastičan prijelazni rok Tottenhama ni u situaciji dok londonski klub gradi spektakularni novi stadion čiji se troškovi sve više povećavaju. No, da baš neće dovesti nikoga. To se u Premiershipu nekom klubu nije dogodilo već desetljeće i pol, otkad je ovaj sustav prijelaznih rokova i uspostavljen 2003. godine. Jednom je Leeds bio blizu sličnog "poduhvata", ali je doveo jednog igrača na posudbu.

Navijači Tottenhama su ogorčeni, traže odgovore. "Tottenham Supporters Trust", udruženje navijača Tottenhama, zatražilo je i službeno objašnjenje. Ne smiruje ih ni novi stadion.

- Unatoč odličnom nogometu koji pokazujemo već nekoliko sezona – nema trofeja.

A argetinski menadžer Mauricio Pochettino je dao diplomatski odgovor.

- Imamo dobre igrače, dobru momčad, nije lako dovesti igrače koji su pojačanja. Nisam tužan, nisam ljut, sretan sam. Kada već ne uspiješ dovesti pojačanja, važno je da zadržiš najbolje igrače. Zadržali smo najboljeg igrača i trenera – rekao je Pochettino uz kojeg je nedavno novi ugovor s Tottenhamom potpisao i najbolji strijelac kluba Harry Kane.

A nije da Tottenham nije pokušao dovesti igrače. No, nisu uspjeli dovesti niti veznjaka Jacka Grealisha iz drugoligaša Aston Ville. Nepopustljivi Levy nije navodno htio ići iznad ponuđenih 28 milijuna eura. Međutim, troškovi izgradnje novog doma Tottenhama s prvotnih 400 povećali su se procjenjuje se na nevjerojatnih 850 milijuna funti, odnosno na oko 950 milijuna eura. Još je i dobro dok menadžer Pochettino ne mora rasprodavati najpoznatije vedete, Kanea, Christiana Eriksena, Dele Allija... Novi stadion kapaciteta 62 tisuće gledatelja trebao bi biti otvoren utakmicom protiv Liverpoola 15. rujna.

Ono kada si u najjačoj ligi svijeta, među klubovima koji su u netom završenom prijelaznom roku na nove igrače potrošili nevjerojatnih 1,4 milijarde eura, jedini klub koji na nove igrače nije potrošio ni penija. A opet si već godinama u vrhu tog istog Premiershipa. To je priča Tottenhamovog ljeta.

Ovog ljeta su se Englezi baš pravili Englezi, pa im je prijelazni rok što se tiče dovođenja novih igrača završio već 9. kolovoza. Liverpool je ovog ljeta potrošio najviše, oko 190 milijuna eura, Chelsea nešto manje od 140 milijuna, a čak i do ove sezone drugoligaš Fulham nevjerojatnih 123 milijuna eura. No, Tottenham nije ni kune. A ovog ljeta i neće. Barem neće nikoga angažirati, jer mogući su još odlasci u druge europske lige gdje prijelazni rok i dalje traje. A taj isti Tottenham je s takvom sličnom, nerasipnom politikom, već treću sezonu zaredom u top tri kluba najjače lige svijeta Premiershipa, te u Ligi prvaka. A već devet sezona nije bio plasiran slabije od šestog mjesta.

Ni inače prvi čovjek Tottenhama Daniel Levy nije brz na obaraču, tvrdi je pregovarač. Krv nije voda. Pogotovo kada treba otvoriti novčanik. Nije se ni očekivalo nekakav bombastičan prijelazni rok Tottenhama ni u situaciji dok londonski klub gradi spektakularni novi stadion čiji se troškovi sve više povećavaju. No, da baš neće dovesti nikoga. To se u Premiershipu nekom klubu nije dogodilo već desetljeće i pol, otkad je ovaj sustav prijelaznih rokova i uspostavljen 2003. godine. Jednom je Leeds bio blizu sličnog "poduhvata", ali je doveo jednog igrača na posudbu.

Navijači Tottenhama su ogorčeni, traže odgovore. "Tottenham Supporters Trust", udruženje navijača Tottenhama, zatražilo je i službeno objašnjenje. Ne smiruje ih ni novi stadion.

- Unatoč odličnom nogometu koji pokazujemo već nekoliko sezona – nema trofeja.

A argetinski menadžer Mauricio Pochettino je dao diplomatski odgovor.

- Imamo dobre igrače, dobru momčad, nije lako dovesti igrače koji su pojačanja. Nisam tužan, nisam ljut, sretan sam. Kada već ne uspiješ dovesti pojačanja, važno je da zadržiš najbolje igrače. Zadržali smo najboljeg igrača i trenera – rekao je Pochettino uz kojeg je nedavno novi ugovor s Tottenhamom potpisao i najbolji strijelac kluba Harry Kane.

A nije da Tottenham nije pokušao dovesti igrače. No, nisu uspjeli dovesti niti veznjaka Jacka Grealisha iz drugoligaša Aston Ville. Nepopustljivi Levy nije navodno htio ići iznad ponuđenih 28 milijuna eura. Međutim, troškovi izgradnje novog doma Tottenhama s prvotnih 400 povećali su se procjenjuje se na nevjerojatnih 850 milijuna funti, odnosno na oko 950 milijuna eura. Još je i dobro dok menadžer Pochettino ne mora rasprodavati najpoznatije vedete, Kanea, Christiana Eriksena, Dele Allija... Novi stadion kapaciteta 62 tisuće gledatelja trebao bi biti otvoren utakmicom protiv Liverpoola 15. rujna.
