Sud za spotsku arbitražu (CAS) u petak je potvrdio presudu protiv nekadašnjeg glavnog tajnika Međunarodnog nogometnog saveza (FIFA) Jeromea Valckea, kojemu je izrečena desetogodišnja zabrana djelovanja u nogometu uz novčanu kaznu od 100.000 švicarskih franaka.

FIFA-in Odbor za etiku je Valckeu originalno izrekao 12-godišnju suspenziju zbog koruptivnih radnji vezanih u za prodaje ulaznica i televizijskih prava za svjetska nogometna prvenstva. Valcke se na tu odluku žalio, a FIFA-ina Komisija za žalbe smanjila mu je kaznu na 10 godina. No, Valcke je iskoristio mogućnost žalbe na tu odluku i svoj slučaj prezentirao pred Sudom za sportsku arbitražu.

No, CAS je odbacio Valckeovu žalbu argumentirajući svoju odluku riječima da je Valcke za svoje prijestupe, zbog njihove težine, potpuno primjereno kažnjen.

Valcke je prije dolaska na mjesto glavnog tajnika FIFA-e 2007. godine, radio u marketingu krovne nogometne organizacije, a s te pozicije je otišao tako što je dobio otkaz.

Sud za spotsku arbitražu (CAS) u petak je potvrdio presudu protiv nekadašnjeg glavnog tajnika Međunarodnog nogometnog saveza (FIFA) Jeromea Valckea, kojemu je izrečena desetogodišnja zabrana djelovanja u nogometu uz novčanu kaznu od 100.000 švicarskih franaka.

FIFA-in Odbor za etiku je Valckeu originalno izrekao 12-godišnju suspenziju zbog koruptivnih radnji vezanih u za prodaje ulaznica i televizijskih prava za svjetska nogometna prvenstva. Valcke se na tu odluku žalio, a FIFA-ina Komisija za žalbe smanjila mu je kaznu na 10 godina. No, Valcke je iskoristio mogućnost žalbe na tu odluku i svoj slučaj prezentirao pred Sudom za sportsku arbitražu.

No, CAS je odbacio Valckeovu žalbu argumentirajući svoju odluku riječima da je Valcke za svoje prijestupe, zbog njihove težine, potpuno primjereno kažnjen.

Valcke je prije dolaska na mjesto glavnog tajnika FIFA-e 2007. godine, radio u marketingu krovne nogometne organizacije, a s te pozicije je otišao tako što je dobio otkaz.
