Međunarodna plivačka federacija (FINA) dozvolit će uporabu novih plivačkih odijela Speedo LZR Racer u kojima su plivači i plivačice u posljednja dva mjeseca postavili 18 od 19 novih svjetskih rekorda.

U FINA-i tvrde kako nema nikakvih znanstvenih dokaza da su plivači s novom opremom brži i da koristeći LZR Racer odijelo imaju nedozvoljenu prednost. FINA je testirala nove kostime i smatra kako nema nikakvih razloga za zabrane.

Međutim, postoje i stručnjaci koji tvrde da plivači u novom odijelu Speeda imaju prednost pred onima koji ga ne koriste.

"Radi se o jednoj vrsti tehničkog dopinga. Takva odijela nisu u duhu našeg sporta. Plivanje počinje dobivati jedan sasvim drugačiji, tehnički aspekt, što nije dobro," istaknuo je izbornik talijanske reprezentacije Alberto Castagnetti.

Speedo je razvoj odijela uložio više milijuna eura, a cijeli projekt u koji je bila uključena i američka svemirska agencija NASA, te Australski sportski institut u Canberri, trajao je tri godine. Kostim je izrađen od ultra laganog materijala, a šavovi su spojeni laserima, pa se čini kao da oni niti ne postoje.

"U tom odijelu se osjećam poput rakete," nedavno je kazao američki plivač Michael Phelps koji je aktivno sudjelovao u cijelom projektu. Phelps je vlasnik šest svjetskih rekorda, te šest zlatnih medalja s Olimpijskih igra u Ateni. U Pekingu će pokušati otići korak dalje i osvojiti osam, zlata.

Međunarodna plivačka federacija (FINA) dozvolit će uporabu novih plivačkih odijela Speedo LZR Racer u kojima su plivači i plivačice u posljednja dva mjeseca postavili 18 od 19 novih svjetskih rekorda.

U FINA-i tvrde kako nema nikakvih znanstvenih dokaza da su plivači s novom opremom brži i da koristeći LZR Racer odijelo imaju nedozvoljenu prednost. FINA je testirala nove kostime i smatra kako nema nikakvih razloga za zabrane.

Međutim, postoje i stručnjaci koji tvrde da plivači u novom odijelu Speeda imaju prednost pred onima koji ga ne koriste.

"Radi se o jednoj vrsti tehničkog dopinga. Takva odijela nisu u duhu našeg sporta. Plivanje počinje dobivati jedan sasvim drugačiji, tehnički aspekt, što nije dobro," istaknuo je izbornik talijanske reprezentacije Alberto Castagnetti.

Speedo je razvoj odijela uložio više milijuna eura, a cijeli projekt u koji je bila uključena i američka svemirska agencija NASA, te Australski sportski institut u Canberri, trajao je tri godine. Kostim je izrađen od ultra laganog materijala, a šavovi su spojeni laserima, pa se čini kao da oni niti ne postoje.

"U tom odijelu se osjećam poput rakete," nedavno je kazao američki plivač Michael Phelps koji je aktivno sudjelovao u cijelom projektu. Phelps je vlasnik šest svjetskih rekorda, te šest zlatnih medalja s Olimpijskih igra u Ateni. U Pekingu će pokušati otići korak dalje i osvojiti osam, zlata.
