Istoga dana kada je objavljeno kako britsnska profesionalna biciklistička momčad INEOS neće produžiti ugovor s četverostrukim pobjednikom "Tour de Francea" Chrisom Froomeom, 35-godišnji Britanac je pronašao novu momčad, Israel Start-Up Nation, s kojom će 1. kolovoza potpisati višegodišnji ugovor.

"Ovo je povijesni trenutak za našu momčad, Izrael, izraelski sport i za naše navijače diljem svijeta, a za mene osobno trenutak izuzetnog ponosa", rekao je suvlasnik momčadi Israel Start-Up Nation Sylvan Adams.

Froome je punih 10 godina proveo u momčadi koju vodi Dave Brailsford, koja se do svibnja prošle godine zvala Sky, a otada INEOS, te je uz četiri "Toura" (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017) osvojio i dvije "Vuelta a Espane" (2011, 2017) i jedan "Giro d'Italia" (2018).

Froome nije nastupio na posljednja dva "Toura", 2018. nije došao nakon pobjede na "Giru", dok lani nije sudjelovao zbog loma noge manje od mjesec dana prije početka. Njegovo odsutstvo iskoristili su drugi vozači INEOS-a, Britanac Geraint Thomas, koji je slavio na "Touru" 2018. i Kolumbijac Egan Bernal, pobjednik prošlogodišnje utrke, pa je Froome izgubio status lidera momčadi.

U sastavu "Israel Start-Up Nationa", koja je stekla "WorldTour" status početkom ove godine, Froome će ponovno biti neupitni kapetan pa bi se mogao upustiti u borbu za petu pobjedu na "Touru" kojom bi se izjednačio s Francuzima Jacquesom Anquetilom i Bernardom Hinaultom, Belgijancem Eddyjem Merckxom i Španjolcem Miguelom Indurainom koji su rekorderi sa po pet pobjeda na najvećoj svjetskoj biciklističkoj utrci.

Istoga dana kada je objavljeno kako britsnska profesionalna biciklistička momčad INEOS neće produžiti ugovor s četverostrukim pobjednikom "Tour de Francea" Chrisom Froomeom, 35-godišnji Britanac je pronašao novu momčad, Israel Start-Up Nation, s kojom će 1. kolovoza potpisati višegodišnji ugovor.

"Ovo je povijesni trenutak za našu momčad, Izrael, izraelski sport i za naše navijače diljem svijeta, a za mene osobno trenutak izuzetnog ponosa", rekao je suvlasnik momčadi Israel Start-Up Nation Sylvan Adams.

Froome je punih 10 godina proveo u momčadi koju vodi Dave Brailsford, koja se do svibnja prošle godine zvala Sky, a otada INEOS, te je uz četiri "Toura" (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017) osvojio i dvije "Vuelta a Espane" (2011, 2017) i jedan "Giro d'Italia" (2018).

Froome nije nastupio na posljednja dva "Toura", 2018. nije došao nakon pobjede na "Giru", dok lani nije sudjelovao zbog loma noge manje od mjesec dana prije početka. Njegovo odsutstvo iskoristili su drugi vozači INEOS-a, Britanac Geraint Thomas, koji je slavio na "Touru" 2018. i Kolumbijac Egan Bernal, pobjednik prošlogodišnje utrke, pa je Froome izgubio status lidera momčadi.

U sastavu "Israel Start-Up Nationa", koja je stekla "WorldTour" status početkom ove godine, Froome će ponovno biti neupitni kapetan pa bi se mogao upustiti u borbu za petu pobjedu na "Touru" kojom bi se izjednačio s Francuzima Jacquesom Anquetilom i Bernardom Hinaultom, Belgijancem Eddyjem Merckxom i Španjolcem Miguelom Indurainom koji su rekorderi sa po pet pobjeda na najvećoj svjetskoj biciklističkoj utrci.
