Britanac James Vowles (43), bivši direktor strategije u Mercedesu, novi je šef Williams Racinga, objavila je britanska momčad formule 1.

Vowles na mjesto voditelja tima dolazi umjesto Nijemca Josta Capita. Time će postati tek treći šef momčadi u 46-godišnjoj povijesti momčadi iz Grovea nakon Franka Williamsa i Capita.

"Čast je pridružiti se momčadi s tako nevjerojatno bogatim nasljeđem. Ova momčad je ikona našeg sporta, koju jako poštujem i jako se veselim izazovu", rekao je Vowles koji je u F1 već 21 godinu.

Svoju karijeru u F1 je započeo s British American Racingom, koji je postao Honda Racing, a zatim Brawn GP, a od njezina osnutka 2010. je bio dio Mercedes F1 Teama. Njegova posljednja uloga u momčadi sa sjedištem u Brackleyju bila je  ravnatelj Motorsport Strategy, a tu funkciju je obnašao više od četiri godine. Prije toga, obavljao je ključne inženjerske i strateške uloge.

"Zahvalan sam na svemu što su (šef Mercedesa) Toto (Wolff) i tim pružili. Bilo je to posebno iskustvo putovati zajedno kroz neuspjehe i uspjehe. Williams ima ogroman potencijal, a naše zajedničko putovanje počinje za nekoliko tjedana," dodao je.

Williams je devet puta bio konstruktorski svjetski prvak, dok su vozači Williamsa osvojili sedam naslova. No, zadnja titla osvojena je 1997. godine s Kanađaninom Jacquesom Villeneuveom.

Sezona Formule 1 kreće 5. ožujka VN Bahreina.

Britanac James Vowles (43), bivši direktor strategije u Mercedesu, novi je šef Williams Racinga, objavila je britanska momčad formule 1.

Vowles na mjesto voditelja tima dolazi umjesto Nijemca Josta Capita. Time će postati tek treći šef momčadi u 46-godišnjoj povijesti momčadi iz Grovea nakon Franka Williamsa i Capita.

"Čast je pridružiti se momčadi s tako nevjerojatno bogatim nasljeđem. Ova momčad je ikona našeg sporta, koju jako poštujem i jako se veselim izazovu", rekao je Vowles koji je u F1 već 21 godinu.

Svoju karijeru u F1 je započeo s British American Racingom, koji je postao Honda Racing, a zatim Brawn GP, a od njezina osnutka 2010. je bio dio Mercedes F1 Teama. Njegova posljednja uloga u momčadi sa sjedištem u Brackleyju bila je  ravnatelj Motorsport Strategy, a tu funkciju je obnašao više od četiri godine. Prije toga, obavljao je ključne inženjerske i strateške uloge.

"Zahvalan sam na svemu što su (šef Mercedesa) Toto (Wolff) i tim pružili. Bilo je to posebno iskustvo putovati zajedno kroz neuspjehe i uspjehe. Williams ima ogroman potencijal, a naše zajedničko putovanje počinje za nekoliko tjedana," dodao je.

Williams je devet puta bio konstruktorski svjetski prvak, dok su vozači Williamsa osvojili sedam naslova. No, zadnja titla osvojena je 1997. godine s Kanađaninom Jacquesom Villeneuveom.

Sezona Formule 1 kreće 5. ožujka VN Bahreina.

Britanac James Vowles novi šef Williams Racinga: ‘Ova momčad je ikona našeg sporta i jako se veselim izazovu‘

Britanac James Vowles (43), bivši direktor strategije u Mercedesu, novi je šef Williams Racinga, objavila je britanska momčad formule 1.

Vowles na mjesto voditelja tima dolazi umjesto Nijemca Josta Capita. Time će postati tek treći šef momčadi u 46-godišnjoj povijesti momčadi iz Grovea nakon Franka Williamsa i Capita.

"Čast je pridružiti se momčadi s tako nevjerojatno bogatim nasljeđem. Ova momčad je ikona našeg sporta, koju jako poštujem i jako se veselim izazovu", rekao je Vowles koji je u F1 već 21 godinu.

Svoju karijeru u F1 je započeo s British American Racingom, koji je postao Honda Racing, a zatim Brawn GP, a od njezina osnutka 2010. je bio dio Mercedes F1 Teama. Njegova posljednja uloga u momčadi sa sjedištem u Brackleyju bila je  ravnatelj Motorsport Strategy, ...
