Australski grad Brisbane izabran je za domaćina Olimpijskih igara 2032. glasovima članova Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora na 138. zasjedanju održanom u srijedu u Tokiju.

Brisbane će tako postati treći australski grad koji će ugostiti najmasovniji i najveći sportski događaj. Prvi put su olimpijske igre na najmanjem kontinentu održane 1956. kad je domaćin bio Melbourne, a drugi put su Igre u Australiji održane 2000. u Sydeyju.

Australija se pridružila Sjedinjenim Američkim državama kao jedina zemlja u kojoj su Ljetne olimpijske igre održane u tri različita grada. U SAD-u su domaćini bili St. Louis (1904.), Los Angeles (1932. i 1984.) i Atlanta (1996.). Los Angeles će ugostiti i OI 2028.

Prema novom pravilniku o izboru grada domaćina Olimpijskih igara, kojim je ovaj proces učinjen značajno jeftinijim i jednostavnijim, Brisbane je u veljači izabran za poželjnog domaćina, a prošlog mjeseca je to potvrdio i Izvršni odbor MOO-a. Članovima MOO-a je samo ostalo da svojim glasom potvrde domaćinstvo.

Brisbane tako nije imao izravnog protukandidata, već je pobijedio u konkurenciji gradova i zemalja koji su javno iskazali zanimanje za domaćinstvo OI, a to su bili Indonezija, Budimpešta, Kina, Doha te njemačko Ruhrsko područje. No, nitko nije morao prolaziti skup proces prezentacije svoje kandidature, jer je nakon inicijalnih razgovora sa svim zainteresiranima Brisbane proglašen poželjnim domaćinom.

Glavni grad australske savezne države Queensland pridobio je naklonost članova MOO-a time što na svom području već ima vrlo bogatu sportsku infrastrukturu i mnogo izgrađenih objekata koji će biti korišteni za olimpijska natjecanja, a tu su i financijska jamstva da će organizacija Igara biti podržana od svih državnih razina te privatnog sektora.

Nije zanemarivo ni to što je Brisbane već bio domaćin brojnih velikih sportskih natjecanja, uključujući i Igre Commonwealtha 2018., a sportašima bi na ruku trebali ići i povoljni klimatski uvjeti.

Australski grad Brisbane izabran je za domaćina Olimpijskih igara 2032. glasovima članova Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora na 138. zasjedanju održanom u srijedu u Tokiju.

Brisbane će tako postati treći australski grad koji će ugostiti najmasovniji i najveći sportski događaj. Prvi put su olimpijske igre na najmanjem kontinentu održane 1956. kad je domaćin bio Melbourne, a drugi put su Igre u Australiji održane 2000. u Sydeyju.

Australija se pridružila Sjedinjenim Američkim državama kao jedina zemlja u kojoj su Ljetne olimpijske igre održane u tri različita grada. U SAD-u su domaćini bili St. Louis (1904.), Los Angeles (1932. i 1984.) i Atlanta (1996.). Los Angeles će ugostiti i OI 2028.

Prema novom pravilniku o izboru grada domaćina Olimpijskih igara, kojim je ovaj proces učinjen značajno jeftinijim i jednostavnijim, Brisbane je u veljači izabran za poželjnog domaćina, a prošlog mjeseca je to potvrdio i Izvršni odbor MOO-a. Članovima MOO-a je samo ostalo da svojim glasom potvrde domaćinstvo.

Brisbane tako nije imao izravnog protukandidata, već je pobijedio u konkurenciji gradova i zemalja koji su javno iskazali zanimanje za domaćinstvo OI, a to su bili Indonezija, Budimpešta, Kina, Doha te njemačko Ruhrsko područje. No, nitko nije morao prolaziti skup proces prezentacije svoje kandidature, jer je nakon inicijalnih razgovora sa svim zainteresiranima Brisbane proglašen poželjnim domaćinom.

Glavni grad australske savezne države Queensland pridobio je naklonost članova MOO-a time što na svom području već ima vrlo bogatu sportsku infrastrukturu i mnogo izgrađenih objekata koji će biti korišteni za olimpijska natjecanja, a tu su i financijska jamstva da će organizacija Igara biti podržana od svih državnih razina te privatnog sektora.

Nije zanemarivo ni to što je Brisbane već bio domaćin brojnih velikih sportskih natjecanja, uključujući i Igre Commonwealtha 2018., a sportašima bi na ruku trebali ići i povoljni klimatski uvjeti.

Brisbane izabran za domaćina Olimpijskih igara 2032. godine

Australski grad Brisbane izabran je za domaćina Olimpijskih igara 2032. glasovima članova Međunarodnog olimpijskog odbora na 138. zasjedanju održanom u srijedu u Tokiju.

Brisbane će tako postati treći australski grad koji će ugostiti najmasovniji i najveći sportski događaj. Prvi put su olimpijske igre na najmanjem kontinentu održane 1956. kad je domaćin bio Melbourne, a drugi put su Igre u Australiji održane 2000. u Sydeyju.

Australija se pridružila Sjedinjenim Američkim državama kao jedina zemlja u kojoj su Ljetne olimpijske igre održane u tri različita grada. U SAD-u su domaćini bili St. Louis (1904.), Los Angeles (1932. i 1984.) i Atlanta (1996.). Los Angeles će ugostiti i OI 2028.
