Srđan Dožai doživio je, kako kaže, najveću moguću čast koju sudac u europskoj klupskoj košarci može doživjeti, dijelio je pravdu u finalu Eurolige između CSKA i Maccabija.

Splićaninu nastanjenom u Zagrebu ovo je drugo sudjelovanje na Final fouru. Prije četiri godine sudio je susret za treće mjesto u kojem je CSKA pobijedio Montepaschi Sienu.

- Ovo je vrhunac moje dosadašnje karijere, bolje od ovoga u klupskoj košarci ne može biti. Za ovo sam se spremao otkad sam položio sudački ispit 1983. godine. Sljedeći cilj mi je suđenje na Olimpijskim igrama, ali taj vlak za Peking je prošao jer su suci već delegirani. Međutim, ima još vremena, suditi mogu barem do svoje pedesete, a to i namjeravam – prenio nam je u Madridu nakon finala prve dojmove dobro raspoloženi Dožai.

Prvi hrvatski sudac u finalu Eurolige zadovoljan je kako je odradio posao, te tvrdi da nije bilo teško, a ni primjedbi nakon susreta. Uostalom, sudačkoj trojci nakon susreta u svlačionici je čestitao i Eduardo Portela, što prvom čovjeku ULEB-a inače nije običaj.

Dožai je za finale bio delegiran tek na dan susreta u podne pa vremena za tremu nije bilo. U Madridu je sudio i u prvom polufinalu Montpaschi Siene i Maccabija, dakle oba susreta kluba Nikole Vujčića. Međutim, nije bilo prigode za prijateljske ćakule.

- Na ovoj razini sve mora biti superozbiljno, sve se kontrolira. Uspio mi je samo nakon susreta čestitati na dobro obavljenom poslu. Posebno zadovoljstvo mi je što je susretu prisustvovala moja obitelj, ali i moji iz Splita, veterani ‘žutih’. Naročito oni iz moje generacije Toni Kukoč, Dino Rađa i Božo Maljković s kojima sam zajedno košarkaški rastao – ponosan je bio Dožai koji ipak skromno tvrdi kako ne može reći da je ovo dokaz kako je jedan od tri najbolja suca Europe, već je potvrdio kako je među Top 20 sudaca.

I nakon karijere Dožai namjerava ostati u košarci, ali na dosta drukčijoj funciji, stopama Danka Radića. - Jednog dana vidim se u vodstvu lige, na funkciji sličnoj onoj Josipa Bilića - kaže Dožai.

Srđan Dožai doživio je, kako kaže, najveću moguću čast koju sudac u europskoj klupskoj košarci može doživjeti, dijelio je pravdu u finalu Eurolige između CSKA i Maccabija.

Splićaninu nastanjenom u Zagrebu ovo je drugo sudjelovanje na Final fouru. Prije četiri godine sudio je susret za treće mjesto u kojem je CSKA pobijedio Montepaschi Sienu.

- Ovo je vrhunac moje dosadašnje karijere, bolje od ovoga u klupskoj košarci ne može biti. Za ovo sam se spremao otkad sam položio sudački ispit 1983. godine. Sljedeći cilj mi je suđenje na Olimpijskim igrama, ali taj vlak za Peking je prošao jer su suci već delegirani. Međutim, ima još vremena, suditi mogu barem do svoje pedesete, a to i namjeravam – prenio nam je u Madridu nakon finala prve dojmove dobro raspoloženi Dožai.

Prvi hrvatski sudac u finalu Eurolige zadovoljan je kako je odradio posao, te tvrdi da nije bilo teško, a ni primjedbi nakon susreta. Uostalom, sudačkoj trojci nakon susreta u svlačionici je čestitao i Eduardo Portela, što prvom čovjeku ULEB-a inače nije običaj.

Dožai je za finale bio delegiran tek na dan susreta u podne pa vremena za tremu nije bilo. U Madridu je sudio i u prvom polufinalu Montpaschi Siene i Maccabija, dakle oba susreta kluba Nikole Vujčića. Međutim, nije bilo prigode za prijateljske ćakule.

- Na ovoj razini sve mora biti superozbiljno, sve se kontrolira. Uspio mi je samo nakon susreta čestitati na dobro obavljenom poslu. Posebno zadovoljstvo mi je što je susretu prisustvovala moja obitelj, ali i moji iz Splita, veterani ‘žutih’. Naročito oni iz moje generacije Toni Kukoč, Dino Rađa i Božo Maljković s kojima sam zajedno košarkaški rastao – ponosan je bio Dožai koji ipak skromno tvrdi kako ne može reći da je ovo dokaz kako je jedan od tri najbolja suca Europe, već je potvrdio kako je među Top 20 sudaca.

I nakon karijere Dožai namjerava ostati u košarci, ali na dosta drukčijoj funciji, stopama Danka Radića. - Jednog dana vidim se u vodstvu lige, na funkciji sličnoj onoj Josipa Bilića - kaže Dožai.
