Španjolski CB Feve San Jose je stigao u goste Ragusi, koja je tad imala prezime, nosila ime sponzora PGM Ragusa.
Bio je četvrtak, 23. listopada 2008. godine. U 20 sati je počela utakmica 1. kola natjecanja u skupini ‘E’ FIBA Eurocupa.
Povijesna utakmica. Naime, naš klub nikad prije nije nastupao u jednom europskom kupu – ostale su na stranicama Slobodne Dalmacije zapisane riječi tadašnjeg predsjednika dubrovačkog kluba Željka Milića.
Ragusa je sezonu prije bila treća na Final fouru Regionalne lige, ostvarila tad svoj najveći uspjeh, te time stekla pravo nastupa u europskom kupu. Tko se ne sjeća, ojačalase jer nije željela biti ‘kanta za napucavanje’. Privoljeli su legendarnu Raziju Mujanović, jednu od najboljih košarkašica Europe svih vremena, da pomogne unatoč dobi od 42 godine. Došla je i Amerikanka Jennifer Harris. Nenad Amanović je bio na klupi dubrovačke ekipe, koja nije uspjela iznenaditi španjolski sastav koji je u svojim redovima imao nekoliko igračica koje su igrale za kadetsku, juniorsku, ali i seniorsku reprezentaciju Španjolske.
Europska epizoda, velika želja da se napravi iskorak, nije dobro prošla. Ragusa je potrošila novce na pojačanja i putovanja, nadovezala se svjetska kriza, te se klub našao u problemima.
Nakon četrnaest godina, stigla je potvrda iz ureda FIBAe, europske košarkaške federacije, Ragusa će opet igrati Eurocup. Nije se opet krenulo glavom bez obzira. Sad će igrati uz potporu Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza.
- Prijavili smo se, a na kraju, kao aktualne prvakinje Hrvatske, ne trebamo igrati kvalifikacije već ćemo biti sudionice jedne od ukupno dvanaest skupina s po četiri kluba. Ždrijeb je u petak, 15. srpnja, u Munchenu. Tad ćemo doznati suparnike te raspored – potvrdila je vijest Alma Majstorović, pomoćna trenerica Raguse, te treneruca mlađih uzrasta dubrovačkog kluba, koja je i izbornica ženske reprezentacije Hrvatske do 14 godina.
Ragusa je posljednje dvije godine ispisala povijest, u sezoni 2020/21. osvojila je prve trofeje od osnutka u veljači 1994. godine, prvo na splitskim Gripama Kup Ružice Meglaj Rimac pobjedom u dalmatinskom finalu protiv Šibenika, a zatim u finalu doigravanja s 3:0 zagrebački Medveščak, branitelja naslova. Potom prošle sezone nisu uspjele obraniti naslov u kupu, ali jesu u prvenstvu.
Zahvaljujući Ragusi opet je grad Dubrovnik na košarkaškoj karti Europe. Prvi put je bio u sezoni 2005/06. kad su košarkaši Dubrovnika, nakon svog najvećeg uspjeha – petog mjesta u Prvoj hrvatskoj ligi, igrali FIBA Challenge Cup, prošli skupinu te ispali u osmini finala od ruskog Ural Greata iz Perma, kasnijeg pobjednika.
Još se ne zna u kojem će sastavu Ragusa dočekati novu sezonu? Želja je prije svega zadržati na okupu ekipu iz prošle, nakon odluke da se ide u Europu razmišlja se i o pojačanjima, a cilj se zna, tj., želja - ponoviti sezonu 2020/21. kad su osvojena oba domaća trofeja. U Europi pak ne ponoviti sezonu 2008/09. kad je debi u jednom europskom kupu zaključen bez pobjede.

Španjolski CB Feve San Jose je stigao u goste Ragusi, koja je tad imala prezime, nosila ime sponzora PGM Ragusa.
Bio je četvrtak, 23. listopada 2008. godine. U 20 sati je počela utakmica 1. kola natjecanja u skupini ‘E’ FIBA Eurocupa.
Povijesna utakmica. Naime, naš klub nikad prije nije nastupao u jednom europskom kupu – ostale su na stranicama Slobodne Dalmacije zapisane riječi tadašnjeg predsjednika dubrovačkog kluba Željka Milića.
Ragusa je sezonu prije bila treća na Final fouru Regionalne lige, ostvarila tad svoj najveći uspjeh, te time stekla pravo nastupa u europskom kupu. Tko se ne sjeća, ojačalase jer nije željela biti ‘kanta za napucavanje’. Privoljeli su legendarnu Raziju Mujanović, jednu od najboljih košarkašica Europe svih vremena, da pomogne unatoč dobi od 42 godine. Došla je i Amerikanka Jennifer Harris. Nenad Amanović je bio na klupi dubrovačke ekipe, koja nije uspjela iznenaditi španjolski sastav koji je u svojim redovima imao nekoliko igračica koje su igrale za kadetsku, juniorsku, ali i seniorsku reprezentaciju Španjolske.
Europska epizoda, velika želja da se napravi iskorak, nije dobro prošla. Ragusa je potrošila novce na pojačanja i putovanja, nadovezala se svjetska kriza, te se klub našao u problemima.
Nakon četrnaest godina, stigla je potvrda iz ureda FIBAe, europske košarkaške federacije, Ragusa će opet igrati Eurocup. Nije se opet krenulo glavom bez obzira. Sad će igrati uz potporu Hrvatskog košarkaškog saveza.
- Prijavili smo se, a na kraju, kao aktualne prvakinje Hrvatske, ne trebamo igrati kvalifikacije već ćemo biti sudionice jedne od ukupno dvanaest skupina s po četiri kluba. Ždrijeb je u petak, 15. srpnja, u Munchenu. Tad ćemo doznati suparnike te raspored – potvrdila je vijest Alma Majstorović, pomoćna trenerica Raguse, te treneruca mlađih uzrasta dubrovačkog kluba, koja je i izbornica ženske reprezentacije Hrvatske do 14 godina.
Ragusa je posljednje dvije godine ispisala povijest, u sezoni 2020/21. osvojila je prve trofeje od osnutka u veljači 1994. godine, prvo na splitskim Gripama Kup Ružice Meglaj Rimac pobjedom u dalmatinskom finalu protiv Šibenika, a zatim u finalu doigravanja s 3:0 zagrebački Medveščak, branitelja naslova. Potom prošle sezone nisu uspjele obraniti naslov u kupu, ali jesu u prvenstvu.
Zahvaljujući Ragusi opet je grad Dubrovnik na košarkaškoj karti Europe. Prvi put je bio u sezoni 2005/06. kad su košarkaši Dubrovnika, nakon svog najvećeg uspjeha – petog mjesta u Prvoj hrvatskoj ligi, igrali FIBA Challenge Cup, prošli skupinu te ispali u osmini finala od ruskog Ural Greata iz Perma, kasnijeg pobjednika.
Još se ne zna u kojem će sastavu Ragusa dočekati novu sezonu? Želja je prije svega zadržati na okupu ekipu iz prošle, nakon odluke da se ide u Europu razmišlja se i o pojačanjima, a cilj se zna, tj., želja - ponoviti sezonu 2020/21. kad su osvojena oba domaća trofeja. U Europi pak ne ponoviti sezonu 2008/09. kad je debi u jednom europskom kupu zaključen bez pobjede.
