Stjepana Tomasa na klupi Šerifa večeras čeka veliki izazov. U 3. pretkolu Lige prvaka Šerif će u Kišinjevu ugostiti češki Plzen. U prethodna dva pretkola Šerif je najprije eliminirao mostarski Zrinjski (0:0, 1:0), a onda i Maribor (0:0, 1:0). Dok je u srazu sa Zrinjskim Šerif izgledao dosta skromno, već protiv Maribora vidio se veliki napredak u igri, premda se momčad mučila u realizaciji, pišu Sportske novosti.

- Zrinjski smo kao momčad dočekali nedovoljno tjelesno pripremljeni. I ja i nekoliko igrača tek smo došli u klub i nije bilo vremena za pripreme, kao ni za uigravanje, a puno je novih igrača stiglo u klub. Maribor smo čekali nešto spremniji i to se odmah vidjelo na terenu. Nadam se da će se taj trend nastaviti i protiv Plzena, koji je doista dobra i jako neugodna momčad. Čeka nas jako težak posao, ali naš je plan pobijediti u prvoj utakmici. Stadion u Kišinjevu trebao bi biti pun, naši su navijači čvrsto uz klub, atmosfera je dobra, dižemo se i stoga sam optimističan - kaže nam Stjepan Tomas.

Kako je Iyayi Atiemwen, igrač koji je ljetos u Šerif stigao iz Dinama?

 Nažalost, nije u konkurenciji za utakmicu, jer je bio ozlijeđen i još nije dovoljno spreman. Šteta, dobro bi nam došao sa svojom brzinom, ali i iskustvom kojeg je skupio igrajući za Dinamo.

Kad smo već kod Nigerijaca, jedan kojeg je Tomas trenirao osvanuo je u Splitu.

- Chidozie Awaziem je moj stoperski miljenik. Još 2019. sam kao pomoćni trener u Rizesporu sudjelovao u njegovom prvom dolasku u Tursku. U Portu mu nisu dali šansu, a kod nas je igrao izvanredno. Awaziem je sjajan igrač, kompletan stoper koji ima brzinu, duel, čitanje igre, skok, tehniku. Doista ima sve. Mi smo ga htjeli otkupiti, ali Porto je tražio 10-tak milijuna eura. Pratio sam ga kasnije u Leganesu i Boavisti, a i prošle sezone u Alanyasporu. I svugdje je bio odličan. Vodeći Göztepe u prošloj sezoni imao sam ga na terenu kao suparnika u dresu Rizespora u koji je opet došao na posudbu. I strpao je moje napadače u džep. Poslije utakmice mi se došao javiti, ostali smo u odličnim odnosima. Veliki je on dobitak za Hajduk, sjajno pojačanje. Odličan dečko, pravi profesionalac, ima jak karakter.

Stjepana Tomasa na klupi Šerifa večeras čeka veliki izazov. U 3. pretkolu Lige prvaka Šerif će u Kišinjevu ugostiti češki Plzen. U prethodna dva pretkola Šerif je najprije eliminirao mostarski Zrinjski (0:0, 1:0), a onda i Maribor (0:0, 1:0). Dok je u srazu sa Zrinjskim Šerif izgledao dosta skromno, već protiv Maribora vidio se veliki napredak u igri, premda se momčad mučila u realizaciji, pišu Sportske novosti.

- Zrinjski smo kao momčad dočekali nedovoljno tjelesno pripremljeni. I ja i nekoliko igrača tek smo došli u klub i nije bilo vremena za pripreme, kao ni za uigravanje, a puno je novih igrača stiglo u klub. Maribor smo čekali nešto spremniji i to se odmah vidjelo na terenu. Nadam se da će se taj trend nastaviti i protiv Plzena, koji je doista dobra i jako neugodna momčad. Čeka nas jako težak posao, ali naš je plan pobijediti u prvoj utakmici. Stadion u Kišinjevu trebao bi biti pun, naši su navijači čvrsto uz klub, atmosfera je dobra, dižemo se i stoga sam optimističan - kaže nam Stjepan Tomas.

Kako je Iyayi Atiemwen, igrač koji je ljetos u Šerif stigao iz Dinama?

 Nažalost, nije u konkurenciji za utakmicu, jer je bio ozlijeđen i još nije dovoljno spreman. Šteta, dobro bi nam došao sa svojom brzinom, ali i iskustvom kojeg je skupio igrajući za Dinamo.

Kad smo već kod Nigerijaca, jedan kojeg je Tomas trenirao osvanuo je u Splitu.

- Chidozie Awaziem je moj stoperski miljenik. Još 2019. sam kao pomoćni trener u Rizesporu sudjelovao u njegovom prvom dolasku u Tursku. U Portu mu nisu dali šansu, a kod nas je igrao izvanredno. Awaziem je sjajan igrač, kompletan stoper koji ima brzinu, duel, čitanje igre, skok, tehniku. Doista ima sve. Mi smo ga htjeli otkupiti, ali Porto je tražio 10-tak milijuna eura. Pratio sam ga kasnije u Leganesu i Boavisti, a i prošle sezone u Alanyasporu. I svugdje je bio odličan. Vodeći Göztepe u prošloj sezoni imao sam ga na terenu kao suparnika u dresu Rizespora u koji je opet došao na posudbu. I strpao je moje napadače u džep. Poslije utakmice mi se došao javiti, ostali smo u odličnim odnosima. Veliki je on dobitak za Hajduk, sjajno pojačanje. Odličan dečko, pravi profesionalac, ima jak karakter.

Stjepana Tomasa na klupi Šerifa večeras čeka veliki izazov. U 3. pretkolu Lige prvaka Šerif će u Kišinjevu ugostiti češki Plzen. U prethodna dva pretkola Šerif je najprije eliminirao mostarski Zrinjski (0:0, 1:0), a onda i Maribor (0:0, 1:0). Dok je u srazu sa Zrinjskim Šerif izgledao dosta skromno, već protiv Maribora vidio se veliki napredak u igri, premda se momčad mučila u realizaciji, pišu Sportske novosti.

- Zrinjski smo kao momčad dočekali nedovoljno tjelesno pripremljeni. I ja i nekoliko igrača tek smo došli u klub i nije bilo vremena za pripreme, kao ni za uigravanje, a puno je novih igrača stiglo u klub. Maribor smo čekali nešto spremniji i to se odmah vidjelo na terenu. Nadam se da će se taj trend nastaviti i protiv Plzena, koji je doista dobra i jako neugodna m...
