Drugi je dan Europskog taekwondo prvenstva u Manchesteru, a Hrvatska ima nove dvije medalje. U dramatičnom finalu zlatom se okitio Marjanov Ivan Šapina, a srebrom Zagrepčanka Nika Klepac.

Napokon, onaj pravi kišni, engleski dan svanuo je Manchesteru. Požurili smo u dvoranu jer po ovakvom se vremenu ne isplati razgledavati. Ali ništa za to, jer u „Squash centru” privremeno pretvorenom u taekwondo borilište naši su nas reprezentativci nastavili uveseljavati.

Bilo je to drugo odličje za 22-godišnjeg Šapinu kojemu je na prošlom Euru pripala bronca. Nevjerojatno dominantno stigao je do finala u kategoriji do 87 kilograma opravdavši tako ulogu prvog nositelja i velikog favorita za zlato.

U osmini finala prekidom je svladao ciparskog predstavnika Andreasa Theocharousa. Četvrtfinale za protivnika mu je donijelo Ukrajinca Vladislava Bondara. Sjajno je Šapina otvorio borbu. Ukrajinac nije imao nikakve šanse protiv raspoloženog Hrvata. Završilo je 24:4, uvjerljivih 20 razlike. Već tada bilo je jasno kako je Šapina osigurao medalju, minimalno brončanu.

No, želio je otići korak ili dva dalje od lanjske bronce u bugarskoj Sofiji. I baš to je uspio. U borbi za finale čekao ga je Slovenac Patrik Divković. U prekidima isprekidanoj borbi Šapina je stigao do nove uvjerljive pobjede 24:4.

U pretposljednjoj borbi večeri, Šapinu je u finalu išao na Španjolca Raula Martineza Garciju. U dramatičnoj borbi nakon tri runde bilo je 11:11. Većinu borbe Šapina je zaostajao, ali se uspijevao vraćati. Sjajnim udarcem nekoliko sekundi prije kraja poravnao je rezultat te se otišlo u produžetak. U njemu je na koncu odnio pobjedu zbog većeg broja udaraca postavši tako europski prvak!

Sjajnim nastupima Nika Klepac probila se do finala u kojem ju je čekala favorizirana Francuskinja Althea Laurin. Mnogo viša suparnice od naše Klepac bila je bolja sa 16:0 te je Zagrepčanki ipak pripalo srebro. Sjajan je to uspjeh s obzirom na to da čitavu prošlu godinu uopće nije nastupala.

Josip Bilić nije uspio dalje od osmine finala u kojem je poražen od trećeg nositelja Nijemca Alexandera Bachmanna. U prvom kolu zaustavljen je Fran Šerer. Bolji od njega bio je Španjolac Adrian Vicente Yunta. Bez medalje nažalost je ostala i Nika Petanjek. U četvrtfinalu poražena je od Poljakinje Aleksandre Kowalczuk.

U tijeku je parataekwondo turnir. Dva su hrvatska predstavnika, Splićanin Ivan Mikulić i Edi Karadžić. Osvajač srebrne medalje s Paraolimpijskih igara u Tokiju još uvijek čeka svoj nastup, dok je Karadžić završio porazom u četvrtfinalu od Poljaka Macieja Kesickog.

Hrvatska vreća polako se puni medaljama. Nakon tri bronce iz prvog dana koje su osigurale Marjanove sestre blizanke Duvančić i Josip Teskera iz Knina, nova dva, još sjajnija odličja Hrvatskoj su donijeli Šapina i Klepac. Već smo, dakle, na pet, a nastupi naših najvećih uzdanica Matee Jelić i Tonija Kanaeta tek se očekuju sutra.

Drugi je dan Europskog taekwondo prvenstva u Manchesteru, a Hrvatska ima nove dvije medalje. U dramatičnom finalu zlatom se okitio Marjanov Ivan Šapina, a srebrom Zagrepčanka Nika Klepac.

Napokon, onaj pravi kišni, engleski dan svanuo je Manchesteru. Požurili smo u dvoranu jer po ovakvom se vremenu ne isplati razgledavati. Ali ništa za to, jer u „Squash centru” privremeno pretvorenom u taekwondo borilište naši su nas reprezentativci nastavili uveseljavati.

Bilo je to drugo odličje za 22-godišnjeg Šapinu kojemu je na prošlom Euru pripala bronca. Nevjerojatno dominantno stigao je do finala u kategoriji do 87 kilograma opravdavši tako ulogu prvog nositelja i velikog favorita za zlato.

U osmini finala prekidom je svladao ciparskog predstavnika Andreasa Theocharousa. Četvrtfinale za protivnika mu je donijelo Ukrajinca Vladislava Bondara. Sjajno je Šapina otvorio borbu. Ukrajinac nije imao nikakve šanse protiv raspoloženog Hrvata. Završilo je 24:4, uvjerljivih 20 razlike. Već tada bilo je jasno kako je Šapina osigurao medalju, minimalno brončanu.

No, želio je otići korak ili dva dalje od lanjske bronce u bugarskoj Sofiji. I baš to je uspio. U borbi za finale čekao ga je Slovenac Patrik Divković. U prekidima isprekidanoj borbi Šapina je stigao do nove uvjerljive pobjede 24:4.

U pretposljednjoj borbi večeri, Šapinu je u finalu išao na Španjolca Raula Martineza Garciju. U dramatičnoj borbi nakon tri runde bilo je 11:11. Većinu borbe Šapina je zaostajao, ali se uspijevao vraćati. Sjajnim udarcem nekoliko sekundi prije kraja poravnao je rezultat te se otišlo u produžetak. U njemu je na koncu odnio pobjedu zbog većeg broja udaraca postavši tako europski prvak!

Sjajnim nastupima Nika Klepac probila se do finala u kojem ju je čekala favorizirana Francuskinja Althea Laurin. Mnogo viša suparnice od naše Klepac bila je bolja sa 16:0 te je Zagrepčanki ipak pripalo srebro. Sjajan je to uspjeh s obzirom na to da čitavu prošlu godinu uopće nije nastupala.

Josip Bilić nije uspio dalje od osmine finala u kojem je poražen od trećeg nositelja Nijemca Alexandera Bachmanna. U prvom kolu zaustavljen je Fran Šerer. Bolji od njega bio je Španjolac Adrian Vicente Yunta. Bez medalje nažalost je ostala i Nika Petanjek. U četvrtfinalu poražena je od Poljakinje Aleksandre Kowalczuk.

U tijeku je parataekwondo turnir. Dva su hrvatska predstavnika, Splićanin Ivan Mikulić i Edi Karadžić. Osvajač srebrne medalje s Paraolimpijskih igara u Tokiju još uvijek čeka svoj nastup, dok je Karadžić završio porazom u četvrtfinalu od Poljaka Macieja Kesickog.

Hrvatska vreća polako se puni medaljama. Nakon tri bronce iz prvog dana koje su osigurale Marjanove sestre blizanke Duvančić i Josip Teskera iz Knina, nova dva, još sjajnija odličja Hrvatskoj su donijeli Šapina i Klepac. Već smo, dakle, na pet, a nastupi naših najvećih uzdanica Matee Jelić i Tonija Kanaeta tek se očekuju sutra.

Manchester: Marjanov Ivan Šapina europski prvak, Klepac srebrna

Drugi je dan Europskog taekwondo prvenstva u Manchesteru, a Hrvatska ima nove dvije medalje. U dramatičnom finalu zlatom se okitio Marjanov Ivan Šapina, a srebrom Zagrepčanka Nika Klepac.

Napokon, onaj pravi kišni, engleski dan svanuo je Manchesteru. Požurili smo u dvoranu jer po ovakvom se vremenu ne isplati razgledavati. Ali ništa za to, jer u „Squash centru” privremeno pretvorenom u taekwondo borilište naši su nas reprezentativci nastavili uveseljavati.

Bilo je to drugo odličje za 22-godišnjeg Šapinu kojemu je na prošlom Euru pripala bronca. Nevjerojatno dominantno stigao je do finala u kategoriji do 87 kilograma opravdavši tako ulogu prvog nositelja i velikog favorita za zlato.

U osmini finala prekidom je svladao ciparskog predstavnika Andreasa Theocharousa. Četvrtfina...
