Vjernici katoličke vjeroispovijesti danas slave Cvjetnicu, odnosno Nedjelju Muke Gospodnje. Uvod je u Veliki tjedan, a Crkva se spominje Isusovog trijumfalnog ulaska u Jeruzalem u dane prije Pashe, opisanog u sva četiri Evanđelja, ali i njegove muke koja je uslijedila nakon toga. Kad je ulazio u Jeruzalem, narod je dočekao Isusa mašući palminim i maslinovim grančicama, rasprostirući svoje haljine putem kojim je išao jašući na magarcu.

Na Cvjetnu nedjelju stoga se na misu nosi stručak grančica na blagoslov. Obično su to grančice masline ili isprepletenih palmi, pa se Cvjetnica u južnoj Hrvatskoj zove i Palmana nedjelja.

Budući da zbog pandemijskih mjera nije moguće sudjelovati na misnim slavljima u većem broju, mnogi svećenici pozivaju vjernike da grančice stave na prozore i vrata, kako bi proslavili Cvjetnicu. Tako će se, kažu, povezati usprkos socijalnoj odvojenosti.

Također, u procesijama, koje se obavljaju prije mise, u spomen na Kristov ulazak u Jeruzalem, vjernici mogu sudjelovati i sa svojih prozora i balkona.

Blagoslovljene grančice prije su se nakon svete mise ostavljale u stajama i po poljima, a danas se uglavnom čuvaju u kućama i po stanovima, kao simbol mira. Stavljaju se najčešće pokraj križa u domovima, nerijetko se mogu vidjeti na radnim mjestima, u automobilima, ali i na različitim drugim mjestima, što svjedoči o važnosti ovog simbola i blagdana u životima kršćana.

Jedan od jako lijepih običaja svakako je umivanje na Cvjetnicu cvijećem, najčešće ljubičicama i drugim biljem. Proljetno cvijeće, bere se večer uoči Cvjetnice, te se njegove latice stavljaju u lavor i preliju vodom u kojoj se uglavnom žene i mlade djevojke i djevojčice umivaju u rano jutro, prije odlaska na svetu misu. Tako se, prema lijepim običajima, daje počast vodi i cvijeću, mladosti i proljeću.

Vjernici katoličke vjeroispovijesti danas slave Cvjetnicu, odnosno Nedjelju Muke Gospodnje. Uvod je u Veliki tjedan, a Crkva se spominje Isusovog trijumfalnog ulaska u Jeruzalem u dane prije Pashe, opisanog u sva četiri Evanđelja, ali i njegove muke koja je uslijedila nakon toga. Kad je ulazio u Jeruzalem, narod je dočekao Isusa mašući palminim i maslinovim grančicama, rasprostirući svoje haljine putem kojim je išao jašući na magarcu.

Na Cvjetnu nedjelju stoga se na misu nosi stručak grančica na blagoslov. Obično su to grančice masline ili isprepletenih palmi, pa se Cvjetnica u južnoj Hrvatskoj zove i Palmana nedjelja.

Budući da zbog pandemijskih mjera nije moguće sudjelovati na misnim slavljima u većem broju, mnogi svećenici pozivaju vjernike da grančice stave na prozore i vrata, kako bi proslavili Cvjetnicu. Tako će se, kažu, povezati usprkos socijalnoj odvojenosti.

Također, u procesijama, koje se obavljaju prije mise, u spomen na Kristov ulazak u Jeruzalem, vjernici mogu sudjelovati i sa svojih prozora i balkona.

Blagoslovljene grančice prije su se nakon svete mise ostavljale u stajama i po poljima, a danas se uglavnom čuvaju u kućama i po stanovima, kao simbol mira. Stavljaju se najčešće pokraj križa u domovima, nerijetko se mogu vidjeti na radnim mjestima, u automobilima, ali i na različitim drugim mjestima, što svjedoči o važnosti ovog simbola i blagdana u životima kršćana.

Jedan od jako lijepih običaja svakako je umivanje na Cvjetnicu cvijećem, najčešće ljubičicama i drugim biljem. Proljetno cvijeće, bere se večer uoči Cvjetnice, te se njegove latice stavljaju u lavor i preliju vodom u kojoj se uglavnom žene i mlade djevojke i djevojčice umivaju u rano jutro, prije odlaska na svetu misu. Tako se, prema lijepim običajima, daje počast vodi i cvijeću, mladosti i proljeću.
